45 mins without conceding a goal, shocker
-
Come on Villa 3 pts needed badly
-
Our possession stats are horrendous how can we give 70% away in the first 30 mins, we need to improve on this
-
Our home form is atrocious and I can't see any improvement with Lambert in charge. I watched them @ home against Newcastle & thought we cud improve as it was early season. Now we are at the crossroads, he goes and we give a new manager a chance in Jan to repair some of the damage done. Or he stays and we cross our fingers that the team turns the corner. In the long run he is not the manager I see taking us forward in any respect. He is relying on second rate players from lower league clubs to step up and take things on. We are being found out every game now.

0-1 **** off Lambert
-
Shocking Villa, rubbish to the core

Hindsight is a great thing, but i am looking at Everton with Martinez and thinking, why oh why isn't he our manager. Instead of this mardy, boring , tactically inept Lambert bloke
Martinez has taken over a club that have had a decade of stability, with a team that's been challenging consistently in the top 6. He's also been given money from the Fellaini sale to add to a squad that is far better than ours.
Not a just comparison at all.
Martinez also tries to play football in the right way, instead of the absolute grot that Lambert serves up.
Exactly, we have 2nd tier players with a 2nd tier manager, who has no passion or drive.

So u think that Martinez would have bought some of the inept rubbish that Lambert has brought to the club, hardly. IMO we should have pushed harder for Martinez instead of Lambert, who i have never been a fan off.

We have gone backwards.
We never start games on the front front, we always seem to be struggling early on.
WBA and Fulham 2-0 down in first half.
We have no imagination in the team, Westwood is limited, Delph liable to get booked every game for stupid unnecessary tackles. Vlaar injury prone and turns about as quick as the QE2.
Baker and Clark always try something fancy and get caught out.
-
He didn't make an effort like the rest of the team, shocking display,
-
He can't keep gambling on players. We are Aston Villa, we should'nt only keep buying players who MIGHT turn into good players.
He has done a good job imho so far, but the next step is 2 or 3 players with proven quality, otherwise we will be in a continuing relegation battle year in year out.
I'm a big fan of Lambert but he is not above criticism and I agree with the above.
The only thing I would say is has he got the funds, certainly in terms of wages, to buy proven quality.
There was a guy playing for Everton in midfield today who would have walked into our side and was gettable in the summer. It was/is the kind of player we are crying out for. A player of proven quality who can influence others around him and would be invaluable to have around for the younger lads to learn off. Gareth Barry was a huge influence for Everton today and we missed a trick not signing him.
Agreed, but Barry is too much of a character for Lambert and its all about him at the end of the day. See us struggling again after some poor football, what does Lambert say or not say prior to games to play so badly.

Been a while since I've been to the Villa, but I choose the worst possible game, no co fidence, can't pass, except backwards to Guzan every time, then blasted up front, giving them possession and playing that dog awful El Ahmadi, where was Sylla, at least he plays with passion, Lambert should be worried, 3 defeats on the spin not good enough. No plan B, no width, no pride
-
Wigan will be safe, it is between us and Sunderland
-
Cant imagine what lambert is going to come out with in his press conference
-
Big crowd bonus
-
No passion, no pride
-
if we were winning it would be 8 mins stoppage time
totally agree
back to earth
-
**** off scouse rocket polishers
-
Alan Smith with his **** cliches
-
no luck today, Liverpool to strong,
-
Delph did say he wanted to change his ways or was that wishful thinking, Leopard spots
-
Lambert needs to work on the corners, we might as well give them the ball
Deck chairs, titanic.
