  1. My biggest fear is that he wont be able to hold onto the players we ned to be keeping, he's also only used to scratting around in the bins for players who will "do a job" and I use that term loosely. So i really fear for the calibre of player he would bring in, never mind the fact he wont be able to attract players good enough.

  2. I had a really sad moment last night with my 8 year old boy. I told him he couldn't have a new Villa shirt as I am not putting a penny into our club after this.

    nice

I know but what's the alternative? Mindlessly handing over money when they have committed the biggest betrayal of Villa fans in my lifetime?

There are things Aston Villa Football Club should never do. Tapping up the manager of Birmingham City is one of them.

Yes, it´s probably best to take it out on your son... He is a kid FFS.

Exactly, it's your **** kid. He's a kid, if you usually buy him a shirt and were planning too this season, why should that be stopped?? you care more about Villa appointing a manager you don't like? :?

So what do you do then? Just keep doling out the money as if nothing has happened? For me, it becomes a matter of principle.

What do I do? well personally speaking, I keep going to Villa, I think this is a dire choice of management but I'm a fan of Aston Villa, I don't think any manager would stop me going from full stop or buying Villa shirts. Clearly you don't want to do that, so fair enough, your thoughts but why take it on your son?

You honestly would rather see your son upset because he can't get a shirt, just because you don't like a manager at Villa? I think that's quite sad, should be proud of being a Villa fan, not telling him he can't go to games or buy any stuff because you don't like the manager. Might as well just support another club to be honest.

Love how some of you lot think you've got an opinion on how he should treat his son. His money, his lad, he can do what the **** he wants if he feels that way. Jesus.

  3. The folks that turned out to protest are not happy fair enough. But that means the vast majority who didn't go are happy to give big eck a chance.

one things for sure I bet a lot of you wish you had backed my Steve campaign now.

What a ridiculous thing to say, not the first time either is it?

  4. Those protesters are trying to save the club. Admirable! Too bad more didn't turn out.

Their still turning up, it was only announced less than 24 hrs ago! Well over 500 there now, a few more days organising and there will be more protesting.

  5. If all these secret meetings in Corsica have been true, then it is quite obvious that regardless of what people think; he has already been interviewed for the job. All this talk of him being interviewed in London I find amusing....they are probably just meeting up to celebrate!!

I very much doubt whether Alex McLeish has ever been to Corsica in his life.

He was in Corsica on holidays. It was all over the papers, before Randy went to Corsica.

I thought he was in Sardinia??

    Here we go again...

  6. This may or may not have been mentioned, but is anyone else slightly embarrassed by the low level of quality of the 'McLeish not welcome' banner?

Christ, I thought they were the inbreds!

What was you hoping for a **** off huge canvas done in watercolours?Jeez.

Must be in the Top 5 of most depressing posts i've ever read on here, even if it is BS, which I hope it is.

  8. Im defo not ruling Hughes out, just because slysports say hes not in the running! The local media will know before those mugs. The more I think about Hughes as the new manager the more Im warming to it. Very hungry to succeed, feels he was shit on by City so has a point to prove and I think he will be committed to the cause, which is something we need. Ancelotti is too much of a Holywood signing who would stick around for a year or two and then be off.

  9. O'Neill was forced out by the fans. The voices of discontent grew pretty loud over the course of his last season.

Really? Thats funny because I was sure MON jumped ship days before the season was to start over transfer funds and being told to cut the wage bill etc etc, I dont ever remember the fans forcing him out. He threw his toys out the pram. End of.

That's exactly how I remember it. MON was copping lots of flak from the fans due to his standard March Misadventure, fans thought that we should be doing better and improving each season due to the amount of money spent and there was generally just an air of discontent. MON started looking for alternative employment during the season after moaning about the fans booing quite a few times and he was looking to get the Liverpool job. Randy took bad advice and tightened the purse strings in an attempt to rein in MON's supposed overspending that he himself had sanctioned and MON had a freddy. It's all fairly well documented.

I agree with you about the Randy and MON disagreement, like you say it's been fairly well documented, but I think MON still had a large percentage of the fan base behind him.

  10. So with David Moyes you'd be happy to watch dull football, losing almost every game until Christmas and then pulling it back to finish 6th every year? When apparently 6th each year under MON wasn't good enough?

Do you think Villa fans in general would be patient enough to give him the benefit of the doubt while the inevitable loss of form happens each season?

And does David Moyes moving sideways really show much of a signal of intent from Villa? From the cutting of the wages and the sale of AY we should have a decent war chest to give a new manager. With a big name manager we could keep Downing, sign a few quality players and have a good go next season. Moyes isn't enough of a wow to make any player sit up and take notice.

Only one manager available will do that - Ancelotti.

    Everton's League positions under Moyes: 17th, 4th, 11th, 6th, 5th, 5th, 8th, 7th. That is with a a lack of funds.

6 out of 8 seasons under Moyes, Everton have finished above us.

O'Neill walked out he was not sacked.

The lack of funds thing is a smokescreen. He's had plenty of money to spend.

  11. I'm still hoping we can pull a rabbit out of a hat... The rabbit being Andre Villas-Boas. His name has Villa in it... Must be fate!

And then he signs David Villa???? :winkold:

Well ARSEnal have ARSEne Wenger and Andre ARShavin.

    And Nicklas Bendter
