  1. General, not sure when we're going to be hearing from you again as it seems you've lost interest, but if you do get the chance to read the site may I suggest you look at the season ticket information thread. Fans who have been at the heart and soul of the club over many many years who feel disillusioned and unhappy with the lack of ambition and direction there seems to be at B6 and football in general. What does Randy intend to do to get these people back down villa park? Does he have a plan or is he happy with the way it's going right now?

    Hope your well.

  2. Gen, thanks for your comments.

But I do think there is a slight naievity on your part if you feel we have the neccessary tools to compete where we need to be this season. I'd say the majority of fans think we're short in players and more importantly short in quality in more than one area on the pitch, Im hoping AM can get Randy to open his cheque book before the window closes.... I'm not holding much hope if I'm honest.....

  3. If you're buying a tin of beans at the supermarket and you get to the till and the cashier says oh sorry, Beans are advertised at 90p, but we've decided you look a bit richer than that so it's now £1.20, would you still buy ?

Yes, if the beans are still good value at £1.20 and if it's more than likely that beans of a similar standard will cost more than £1.20 and you're not sure how the other beans may taste :winkold:

If your really hungry you will buy those beans, especially if it's the last tin on the shelf and theres a possibility an arsehole from another town may buy them first...

  4. [\quote]Its so bloody frustrating though. We can all see it, yet we seem to be not wanting to do it!!!!

Thats why, deep down, i think we will, because this will be the difference between struggling and challenging for a top six place, and its differing prize money, and future sponsorship...

    Randy must realise this, surely?

  5. 85 out of 94 is also pretty much bang on 90%.
    True!

It's always dangerous to do mental arithmetic on a Friday night (hic).

However, it could have been 100% and been futile if we had still lost the match.

I dont understand this, so because we lost it makes his performance void? Thats basically what your saying or what I think your saying, so by the same token because west ham went down scott parkers performance last season was crap and pointless? Strange thinking if you ask me. Why is it so hard for people to just accept he played well, he has quality and hopefully he will prove the doubters wrong this season

Comparing Scott Parker's contribution to West Ham last season with Makoun's to Villa is a bit of a joke isn't it?

It's quite clear to see that I wasnt doing that, I wasnt comparing contribution throughout a whole season but yet again someone on VT makes something up to suit their own argument. Anyway Im sure you realise your in the minority on this one so I'll just let Jean Makoun prove you wrong.

  7. I thought Makoun was good against Man Utd too.

Not been very consistent, but it was his first season in a league he's not played in, without speaking the language, in an unexpected high pressure season.

I think he'll be a very good player, it just depends how well he can settle. The guy clearly has a touch of class about him, it's one thing Houllier is very good at.

Agreed, and people who cant see that really are clueless imo

  8. General,

Despite my earlier admittance that I wasnt going to spend another penny, I've ordered my Fulham ticket today, you see its in our blood we cant just switch it on and off, I sometimes wish I could. So me and my mates shall be there, as usual showing our comittment to our beloved club. One thing I ask of the board is you best make sure we've got a squad who are able to compete in the top 8 of the league when the season starts. Otherwise get ready for the back lash.

  9. If we don't get him in due to Whelan being a nob head I'll be pretty pissed and I imagine so would all parties concerned. I thought Whelan was one of the good guys but he just seems a tad smug of late. Anyway, if we dont get zog who could we go get for 10 - 12 mill and expect them to hit the ground running?!

Would make him a wee bit of hypocrit as well don't you think? After publically stating live on SSN that "If only the rest of football was as honest as Randly Lerner...it would make football alot easier bla bla......

Villa need to go cold on the deal IMO and be linked with signing alternatives. Whelan may then change his tune. I would imagine the player's representatives are furious because CNZ is not getting a proper pre-season

BTW a real genuine bit of ITK without resorting to any subtifuge and blackmail of friends & colleagues! Gateshead FC are at a summer training camp up in our village. They play in Black & white, so I thought the Bar Codes had moved in this morning, when I saw them all running up the road at 8am! I'll find out for sure if any are destined for B6!! :winkold:

Yep, it would make him look a bit daft, maybe we should go cold for now, I think DW could do with a bit of humility at the moment. Although on the other hand I wouldnt want to lose out on the player. This is where Faulkner will earn a bit of respect in my eyes if he pulls this off, so I'll be watching intently how this one pans out and I'll hold PF completley responsible if it goes sour  Although as the players reps have come out now, I'm hoping this will force DW's hand....

Gateshead FC the North Easts number one team I hear....

  11. General, over the years I dread to think of the 1000's that I've invested into the club. The way I feel right now you wont be getting another penny of my money until I see some real conviction and leadership from the club. Right now we are seriously lacking in both and please dont give me the "there are things going in behind the scenes" quote, there may well be, no doubt in a disastrous manner if Faulkner has anything to do with it, but we the REAL fans know our club and things arent right within it right now, we're a shadow of ourselves even from 2 years ago. A very very disheartened and disillusioned villa fan.

  12. Support for the board is at an all time low General I really cant see it getting any better for you guys, I really can't. What can you say to the fans or more importantly what can Randy say to us, does he not feel that after all that has gone on, we don't deserve an explanation? Because I think it's the least we deserve.....

    Still waiting for action.....

  13. We're looking a shambles more and more each day, the past 12 months have been a total embarassment and yet it continues. Can you answer this quesiton rather that hiding behind your PR speeches.

Exactly what direction do you, Randy and that yes man Faulkner preceive the club to be heading? I can assure it will differ from the majority of the REAL fans....

  14. Wants 65K a week and isn't budging so Sunderland have pulled out of the race to sign him.

I cant believe he's on anywhere near 65k a week at Wigan, so surely any type of pay rise and a move to a bigger club would be a good thing, so not sure why would he price himself out of a move.

  15. General, it's been over a week now since your last post and in your words "I think you will be hearing quite a bit from the Club in the next couple of weeks...from the Manager and from the Board. More importantly, you will see "action" which is the way Randy has always operated...words mean very little but actions speak loudly"

So far we haven't heard a thing....

General I'm quickly loosing faith in anything that the board have to say. So please, honestly, when will we see this action you've mentioned? Or is this just more PR bullshit to keep a lid on things for a week or two?
