He's not a striker that will create a chance out of nothing for himself, there are very few players around that can.

When would the new season start? Has it been released yet?

Hopefully the quick turnaround will make us less likely to lose players.

If we could sell Grealish and Mings for a good amount and reinvest £40-£50m of it on 4 quality players (Winger/ST, AM,CB,CM) I think we'd be in a good position

I currently run 5k in just under 24 and have been trying to get it down over lockdown.

Started running a few times a week around a month ago and first few times were around 25.

I don’t think the progress is bad, but it’s not good. Any tips for getting it down? Also, what’s an expected improvement profile? Is shaving a minute off that with a months work possible, 2 minutes maybe?

Essentially if you go the "points" page on the FPL app or website, that will be your team next gameweek if you activate your FH at any point before this week's deadline. It doesn't matter how many transfers you make before you activate it.

 

FWIW I've seen hundreds of people asking this on Twitter so I imagine a lot of people won't realise this won't work and will drop a bollock by doing it.

Even though there are unlimited Free Transfers, I think there is still a lot of value int he Free Hit for this week.
If this is going to be the only DGW, and you're relatively happy with the team you've got, the Free Hit allows you to load up on DGW players and then you've still got a wildcard (assuming you still have your final wildcard) to rejig your team when we have a better idea of who is now performing.

 

Seems a waste in a way seeing as we all have free transfers, but do I want Sheff Utd and Villa players in my team for the rest of the weeks? Probably not.

Just on this - I was thinking of using the unlimited transfers in the next 24 hrs to get a decent team for the run-in, activating my FH for this GW and then hoping the team returns to the 'new' team that benefited from unlimited transfers.

That way you make use of the unlimited transfers and can still play the FH - or will this not work do you reckon?

Mings's long balls are actually quite accurate for a CB. I think having Davis in the team purely so Samatta and Grealish can play off him and get us up the pitch when we're under pressure is worth it

(Villareport I know - probs not even true) You would have thought now would be a perfect time to learn English with a tutor? Club could have helped him out a bit here?

Think Leeds will struggle if restart happens - they rely on high intensity fitness levels. I doubt they’ll be able to get up to pre-Covid levels

As a wider point, fitness is an interesting aspect upon restart. Will player fitness be levelled across teams and we’ll see more goals as everyone is generally less fit?

In part due to us having a blank fixture GW28, but shows us having the hardest run over the next six. West Ham also have a tough run and Bournemouth's isn't much better.

We do need a quality winger, but I'm hoping Samatta will improve the attacking threat of Trez and El Ghazi (and even Guilbert / Targett)

Although some of their crosses are absolutely dreadful, I think they'll really benefit from the presence of a player who can head the ball

Agreed - but he's competing with Luiz surely?

I don't think he should have started last night. As everyone seems to be suggesting, he's not match fit yet.

He also doesn't seem to take on the role of the pivot like Luiz does, which limits our distribution. The number of times Luiz was level with our CBs to try and build play from the back was a noticeable difference compared to Drinkwater.

I think he'll improve, but he needs to get sharper before he starts meaningfully impacting our play.

I agree - but there's two sides to this story I think. Marv yes, but I think Luiz is a lot better at it.

He shows for the ball, receives it and looks then to distribute. When we play 5 at the back, there is such a gulf between defence and attack that he can only really pass to Jack or go backwards - when Jack is marked it's pretty difficult for him.

If we're to play 5 at the back and retain the ball, the wing backs need to show for it a lot more, one of the wingers need to drop back slightly and Marv needs to improve. We're moving in the right direction with it, but a few tweeks are needed in midfield so we don't just keep inviting pressure. 

Prime example was when he got caught with the ball for their goal, he doesn't want to keep passing backwards, but nobody is showing for the ball. 

He breaks up play but his ball retention and passing is really poor.

That said, think he's just getting used to the PL - we'll see if he's any good next year, whichever league we're in.

Is he better than Douglas Luiz or Lansbury? Doubt it
