  1. john, do you really believe that doug ellis wont deal with this himself!?!?
  2. il stick with the same expectations iv had with villa for years now... expect **** all except ellis to continue to **** us over...
  3. so this has all stalled on ellis wanting too much for the club then?
  4. tbh, you think what you like... i know what my agenda is and i know what many of my friends agendas are... thats all that matters to me...
  5. 28 years actually... and how many are they down this year? i think you will find its around 4000....
  6. there are missing thousands and its growing all the time... our average attendances are down by quite a bit.... and lee, i know quite a few villa fans myself... both in the flesh and on the net and a lot of them are taking the same stance as me, for the exact reasons i am taking the stance.... so it works both ways.. there ARE villa fans staying away due to ellis and like NV says, whether thats a concious decision or a sub concious decision, is debatable, but from my discussions with villa fans, a lot have made the consious decision to boycott the games and will come back once ellis is gone... im not saying we are better or worse fans for taking this action and i respect the fact that you arent either, but we make our choices and live with the consequences.. both good and bad...
  7. just because we have been in a worse position, doesnt mean we have to like and accept our position now... selling because he is dying might be the case, but his investment will decrease if average gates are low... either when hes dead or alive... the leaving in a box statement was what he said himself.. if thats not now the case, then something must have happened, as hes known he was ill, with one thing or another, for a long time... he always maintained he would only leave in a box and only recently has that stance changed... and whether the boycott has anything to do with his new stance, no one will ever know... i would like to think it has and evidence suggests it has, but no one can be sure either way... but as i said, i have to try and do something, no matter how small it is...
  8. its had more effect on him than any other protests it appears, as he is now actively looking to sell, whereas before he always maintained he would leave in a box.. even if that outward expression of his desire to sell means that buyers come along and possibly force the issue, the boycott has had at least a very small part to play in that... whether thats due to money, or because its damaging his ego of this myth about him being a good businessman, etc, is debatable and irrelivent, but it appears to be having an effect of some kind... but we can only do our small part and hope for the best for the long term....
  9. but those boycotting are not changing football clubs... we are trying to do our bit to get the old **** out, by the only means that he really understands... by hurting his pocket... it could be argued that it appears to have had at least some effect as he is now allegedly actively looking to sell... if i have helped with that in any way, then brilliant... you can guarantee that many will flood back to villa park when he leaves.. myself included... i dont enjoy missing games, but i have to at least try and do something i think will benefit the club long term....
  10. i know what he is asking, but before shouting his mouth off, he should check his facts...
  11. i wasnt no, but mateyboy up there, made the insinuation that the boycott wouldnt have stopped me going to rotterdam... if i were old enough obviously.... which is highly amusing, ellis wasnt around when we went to rotterdam, so i would have had no reason to boycott anything.. and being too young isnt a boycott, as you cant make the decision to intentionally stop purchasing a product as a form of protest if you were 4 years old.... not unless you are a **** smart 4 year old...
  12. but why would we have boycotted going to rotterdam?!?
  13. and even with the humour and sarcasm behind that post, it is sadly, all true....
  14. How noble the Villa Park martyrs are. How enlightened that they can see what us 'normal' Villa fans cannot. Did your boycott mean you didn't go to Rotterdam? Did it mean you didn't got to Wembley for the FA Cup final or League Cup finals in the 90's/00? Thought not. i was 4 years old when we won in rotterdam... and it might be an idea for you to check where ellis actually was when we won in rotterdam too... il take my stance against ellis as i see fit... many others do too... i dont take the piss out of those that dont follow the same course as me and quite frankly, couldnt give a shit if you dont like it....
  15. Well said Gizmo. I liken being a Villa fan to being married. You stick with your missus through thick and thin. You don't do a runner if some more seductive bird (eg Chelsea) suddenly looks appealling. Its exactly the same with the Villa - you have to keep going regardless. You can't just not turn up because things are not going your way. Its in the blood. Its passion. Its love. Its what being a fan (shortened term for 'fanatic') is all about. is that right is it?? how many of us that have admitted we refuse to go while ellis is still here are now chelsea fans then? i resent the fact that you claim that we dont go because "things arent going our way"... thats not it at all... i also resent the fact that you are insinuating that because im depriving myself of something i love in the hope of making a difference, that villa is not in my blood, im not passionate and i dont love my club... nothing could be further from the truth... the stance we choose to take of self sacrifice for the greater good, even if its only a small impact on my individual part, is in the hope that things will change for the better... if thats damaging short term but makes our long term future better, then thats the cross we have to bare....
  16. by the looks of it, its about as close to being completed as i am of giving birth to doug ellis's baby...
  17. sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind...
  18. tbh, if me staying away makes even a small dent on ellis, then its worth it... more and more are staying away and it could be argued that has had an effect... we spent more in the summer after season tickets were down and ellis is now allegedly actively looking to sell... if thats the price for me and others depriving ourselves of match days, then so be it...
  19. i wont go while ellis is there...
  20. that depends on whether the hole gets bigger... ie, we get more injuries at the back.... this is fun... with regards believing it, personally, il believe it until i have reason not to believe it... ie, we actually buy someone....
  21. It's a good answer. But technically, there's no hole in the Villa roof. We ain't gonna get relegated, we ain't gonna win anything. We're just plain ol' mid table Villa. Safe enough to survive a few months with a leaky roof. thats where youre wrong... there IS a whole in the roof... or the defence in football terms...
  22. it depends on whether there was a hole in it and it needed repairing for fear of causing further damage to the whole structure of the house......
  23. git orrrrrf moiyyy laaaaaaaand....
