Omar had a theory about the background workings. He's worked on transfers in the past do a few asked him to share his thoughts. He speculated a bit about his own theories about the background of the deal and is just chatting to people about it.

There's nothing in it in terms of ITK (other than he said he heard in May that Jack wasn't happy about being involved in the Kit launch media as his future may be uncertain).

Other than that it's very clearly just his opinions, speculations and theories. He's like any of us in that he has them but isn't claiming it to have been what actually happened.

I've read through it and honestly it does all tally up.  I don't know why Villa would go along with it. But we're all too emotional, I'd be burning Grealish's image in minutes.  No amount of goodbye posts/videos will cover the betrayal.

But if we have a summer of Buendia, Young, Bailey, Tammy and Axel that could less than 120m depending on figures which is consistent spend for us.  No need for a massive sale.

Thing for me is,  say we sign these players.  You still have a Grealish size whole in the LW unless you move Watkins and keep El Ghazi?

  3. Something about how this deal has been presented doesn't make sense.

Nobody has outright said Jack wants to go.

Time frame, most reports say the deal needs to be concluded quickly but why is my question?

£100m no doubt if not a release clause then a gentlemans Agreement with Jack.

Man City's media leaks seemed to be determined not to allow Jack to return to the club.

Jack's injuries also play a part for me,  he's missed 3 months off each of the last seasons nearly, goes to Man City and he can certainly manage his work load but he's a fool to think he'd be the same player.  Pep won't allow him to be.

I have no idea if he stays but i hope he does, this is the best Villa side he's ever played in. Will only get stronger.

  4. Really sad to see Conor leave, I'm not sure when his contract is up but I'd be surprised if he plays again for us.

Really got alot of undeserved stick, for not being a certain type of midfielder.

Imo he's been one of the most exciting players we've had for 10 years, certainly should be remembered fondly alongside many modern era players like Hitz, Milner or even Benteke.

Without his goals i don't think we'd have made it back to the PL.  That moment at Villa Park when he scored vs Baggies will stay with me forever. Absolute relief, joy such a key defining moment.   The fact you knew it was in as soon as he hit it.  As a 35 year old, easily one of my top 5 moment ever at VP.

Thanks Conor and good luck. Actually looking forward to seeing him smashing a few in at that level again.

The players confirmed to have trained this week are as follows…

    Goalkeepers: Martinez, Heaton, Steer

Defenders: Cash, Guilbert, Elmohamady, Mings, Konsa, Engels, Targett,

Midfielders: McGinn, Luiz, Nakamba, Barkley, Hourihane, J Ramsey, A Ramsey, Chukwuemeka

Forwards: Grealish, Traore, Watkins, El Ghazi, Davis

Now I'm struggling to work out anyone missing,  apart from Hause.

Hopefully we've got away with one here, seems Fulham didn't have many long-term absence after they're outbreak.

I feel there is plenty of goodwill towards Andre - coupled with a lot of hope, but equally there is doubt as to his ability to become a really top footballer

I have increasing doubts about him making it, and now we've got promoted I just don't see anything close to a PL player there. I hope I'm proven wrong but his last few appearances have been non existent.

  7. I think my only question mark against Deano for the playoffs was playing tammy so much when he hadn't looked fit enough. Even yesterday I thought Kodjia's presence would have made derby work harder.

His pass for our first goal was wonderful. MOTM candidate.

Agree completely, not many others in squad could have started that move.

He really was class, thought he tired late on and I'd still probably brought Whelan on to firm things up.

Him and El Ghazi were Motm for me.

  9. Given now the dust is settling on the day, how would fans feel about a promotion parade.

Given that this is the 1st thing of significance we've achieved since 1996, I feel its a real occasion to remember.

I seem to remember a 'losers' reception in Birmingham in 2000 after we lost the fa cup final to Chelsea but I don't recall if we did anything for the 94 and 96 Cup successes.

I'm actually exhausted from my lack of sleep due to the excitement /stress this week.

I sincerely hope the players aren't as mentally fragile as me.

This is me also this week, add to the fact I can't decide what to do with myself. Where to watch it or risk traveling down anyway.
