  1. If we look at this objectively, our owners and board so far have not failed to meet their objectives.  They are driven, professional and committed. There clear aim is to keep Jack at the club, and I can't believe they would put on this show, to then have to admit defeat.  Lange has gone for a one on one chat with grealiah in front of the world (I know it's a randomer,  but they must have been aware of the filming), to then have to admit he's failed to convince him of their vision for the future.

I will be astounded if that's what they've just served up.

I saw a chart which showed how much each club can spend this summer via FFP rules...  Villa had the 2nd lowest budget of any club at 40 million pounds.  Will have to sell El Ghazi/Hourihane to balance the FFP books now and will probably have one more CB in on loan this season. Next summer we'll probably only add 2-3 more as well, unless we're going to start flipping players for more money and reinvesting again.

FFP is what's going to start holding us back now more than anything.  As much as I would hate to lose Jack, his transfer fee would be 100% profit and we'd be able to accelerate our progression by 2 years, if we invested properly.

The chart wouldn't account for a significant rise in earnings though would it?  Perhaps the board can see an uplift and are prepared to gamble?

Really don't understand how this can be dragging on any further.

First league game kicks off in less than 12 days and we're no closer to knowing whether our captain, talisman, best player by a country mile is staying or going. The fact that it still seems 50/50 is mad.

Surely he needs the comfort of clarity himself, as does everyone at the club?

    It's all very strange.

Our owners testicles are so big that they have signed grealish, are stringing city along to knacker their transfer plans and preparations which in turn, will unsettle Kane into industrial action against spurs - leaving them in a relegation scrap with arsenal

I've heard this off someone who knows our owners testicles

If Jack does decide to stay, I think it’ll take a Europa league spot this season to prevent him from leaving next summer (whether that be by winning one of the cups or through our position in the table). Don’t see him giving up the opportunity to play in Europe for his boyhood club, but if we don’t make it this season, I think it’s fair if he decides he wants to win trophies in his prime and goes elsewhere.

Isn't it mental that playing in that shite means so much to people.

We have that according to stats with Buendia.  of course, he might miss 2/3 of the season too.

Exactly.  I desperately want him to stay, but stopping him leaving and paying him 3 times more than our next top earner is as much of a risk as taking + £100mill now while he is as saleable as possible and reinvesting in players who want to be here.

Also, ironically by him signing a new contract we are shutting down the chance of bringing in further top talent due to ffp, meaning we are less likely to achieve everyone's ambitions.

2-3 I wholeheartedly agree, but if we end up with 100m+ from grealish plus we assume we already have a few quid to chuck about... well, we aren't going to attract the 50-60m calibre of player if we've just lost our best player unfortunately. I hope we don't spend it all for the sake of it. We could have some really strong windows and progress more sustainably over a longer timeframe.

We only need someone 2/3 as good as grealish to stand still.  That's doable.

  7. I don't think it matters if people write him off, he's just helped write himself off.  He needs minutes on the pitch, regain match fitness, and work his way back into first team plans.

The management must be struggling to know what to do with him now.  Off the pace, out of practice, and a loose cannon.  Davies is now clearly our best next option,  which leaves Wesley very short of opportunities going forward which will stunt his ability to get up to his best - whatever that is

  8. I haven't seen much from him to think he has what's needed either pre or post injury.  Can't picture us taking ollie off and chucking him on if we're trailing a game, so what's the point?

Happy to support him and be proven wrong obviously ...

  9. Slapped £25 on it - £850 back.

He will create goals for himself

He's got buendia, Bert and Grealish and another top signing by the looks behind him.

Target, young and cash providing on the overlap.

Will start 38 games if fit

He's surely going to be up there......?!?
