Hate and criticism are completely different things.

Agree to point, but in my opinion to some of our fanbase he's gone from being a shoe in for player of the season to being the player they play on most when we play poorly. The lurch in emotion and opinion has been extreme. Perhaps I shouldn't have said hate, but some people certainly aren't being supportive, not are they being constructive.

  2. With Newey going and citing the issues with the allegations against Horner, how long is it until Horner's pushed out? F1 is a very incestuous sport, and people talk. Will Horner be seen as toxic? Alternatively, Red Bull will be the dominant team for this season and next, so do they wait until the 2026 changes?

The baffling thing about Man United is we think almost all of their players are shit, and that their manager is a clown, but they're only two places below us :D

I think it's because they're poor in relation to how they see themselves, how they're presented by the media, and in relation to the teams they've had in most people's recent memory. They were the most dominant English team of the 90's and 00's. Also because of the eye test; they've got more points out of a lot of games than they should have because of dodgy reffing (also VAR) or poor finishing from the opposition.

  4. Thought I'd go and have a gander at the SHA forum to see if it was really as stupid as is being reported here. I've just seen quite possibly the worst football related post ever.

We should hang a few dead Norwich fans from the crossbar

It's not funny, it's not clever, it's far beyond stupid. I really hope this shambles of a fan base get the result they deserve on Saturday. Nobody has called it out either. Unbelievable. Why are they so full of hate?

  5. Who's going to take any of these Utd morons on whilst having to pay a fee for them? It's well known they have a ridiculously unprofessional squad of players on big money.

Unless players are leaving at the end of their contracts, nobody is going to bid for them, with the exception of Fernandes. The rest of them are players not good enough for the top 4, or the top teams in Europe. Playing for man u nowadays isn't enough to guarantee a big move like it was under Fergie. They're stuck with them, making them available changes nothing other than lowering any fees.

  6. Would Liverpool be that much worse off without him? They're a finisher away from pushing City for the title. They've gone to pot the last few weeks but still had chances. Salah's output looks decent on paper, but he's scored 12 PL goals from open play, the rest have been penalties. If they got a decent offer they'd surely sell him, so long as they have a decent replacement lined up. Nunez and Gakpo don't look like doing it, whilst Jota and Diaz have been quite injury prone. No way do they sell Salah without a top replacement being lined up and confirmed.

  7. A cautionary tale...

You really do have to be careful about limiting the screen time, and especially what they watch on youtube. We were fairly relaxed about my son having it. He did, and still does, plenty of outdoor activities but he'd always prefer to watch the short youtube videos over a cartoon or movie on TV when he had screen time. He's on the spectrum, so this is a big part of it, but when we'd cut him off his behavior would become worse and he'd do whatever he could to get his hands on another internet enabled device. He'd wait for us to go to sleep to get his switch or iPad from our bedroom, and then watch it all night. It got so bad we've had to buy a safe to put the devices in at night. To get around that, he'd steal his sister's iPad during the day when the safe would be open, hide it in his room and lie about it. We've now had to ban youtube at the router level, so it can't be accessed from any device on the Wi-Fi.

I wish we'd never given him access to begin with all those years ago. I thought we'd always been fairly restrictive; he'd never have more than an hour a day and we'd turn all visual stimulation off at 6 until he'd gone to bed at 8. It still didn't help.

By the same token, my daughter just wants to be outside in the garden all the time, and she has access to devices. I think it's very much an individual thing.

@Jonesy7211, what are you and your Missus going to be buying?

New or second hand? Any particular genres?

If you're after an og of Iron Maiden's 'Number Of The Beast' and your other half wants the latest Tech House 12", you'll maybe gravitate to different vendors?

We've no preference regarding new or secondhand, so long as the quality of the vinyl and the cover is at least good. That's the main reason I asked for recommendations.

Our musical tastes are different, but we view that as a good thing. I'm a fan of John Coltrane for example, whilst when we met she introduced me to Primal Scream and Nina Simone. We've both learnt from each other and continue to share what we like.

@Jonesy7211 I've bought new online at Rough Trade and Norman Records but online I tend to buy from the labels themselves but as I like fairly obscure stuff this tends to be from the likes of Invada, On-U Sound and Castles in Space. To be honest I’ve never had a problem buying online but prefer to use a shop because I like browsing

For more mainstream stuff there’s always HMV but they are often very expensive

But google says there is a place called rebel records in Tamworth, looks very much like a collectors store though, it’s in an industrial unit somewhere

I've been to rebel records in the past for my son's collectable toys. A lot of the records in the store at the time were not to my taste. You might find a lot of them in charity shops after a house clearance. It may have changed since, so I'll give that another look.

I really do appreciate the feedback, especially regarding the labels. I hadn't considered that at all.

  10. For our anniversary, my wife and I have finally made the crossover to vinyl, purchasing a Sony turntable and Sonos speakers as a present to each other.

There's no decent vinyl stores in Tamworth that I'm aware of, so I wondered where some of you vinyl snobs get yours from online? I'm not a big fan of chain stores and big businesses, I'd prefer independent retailers if possible. I also ask as I'd rather use one recommended and trusted, rather than blindly browsing.

  11. I think people have a problem separating Klopp's team from their fanbase. Their fans are the most one-eyed, biased, and hypocritical fans there are. Klopp absolutely feeds into this to create an us and them mentality, which is a powerful motivator. This has been further built up by the ex Liverpool players in the media.

Great manager, total douchebag. Treats officials and anyone in the media not worshipping him as a revered messiah awfully. Definitely would have won more if not for City. Although you could say that about Fergie and Wenger, and Pep and Mourinho.

Klopp's teams have been bloody entertaining to watch though, and I'll miss that. You very rarely got a drab 0-0, especially when they had the front 3 of Salah, Firmino, and Mane.

He'll be missed, one of the top 10 PL managers no doubt, but ultimately he gets the extra hero status from Liverpool not only for the 1st PL title, but also because they saw him as someone who "gets" their club, whatever that means.

  12. Got the bus for the first time in a long time this morning. Get on, everything is pleasant enough, sit down and relax. I'm thinking that this isn't too bad, and I should do it more often.

Next stop, there's this old boy furiously puffing on a cigarette to get as many drags in as possible before he has to get on the bus. First thing that annoys me is that he just discarded his half smoked fag without a care in the world. He gets on the bus and he absolutely stinks of cigarettes. It makes me wretch. I then have to put up with the smell for the next 30 minutes as he's sat behind me. It made me irrationality angry, I'm still frothing at the mouth now. It's not a rant against smoking, but more how much it stinks, and that it really annoys me!
