these games were never meant to be shown live, so they are completely within their rights to charge for them.
This.
let’s rewind to pre COVID. Forget that fans have been locked out of stadiums and this won’t happen.
You’re a season ticket holder so you’re attending all home games. You have your subscription to sky/BT so can watch away games from home subject to broadcasting schedule. We acknowledge that not every game will be shown on tv, as it always has been.
now you have been presented with this option. Watch any Villa game but pay extra when it’s on. Essentially instead of paying for an away ticket + travel + food which could be £60-100. You have the choice to pay £15 to watch it in the comfort of your own home. Understand the experience is different, but you get to see the game at a much lower cost.
I think the fact we’ve managed to see extra games for free and are now being told if we want to continue t’s going to cost us, maybe sky shouldn’t have bothered to do so and just kept the status quo
btw this isn’t me defending the decision. I, like most of you think the £15 cost is a lot, especially as it’s not ALL games being given the option which means that some fans pay more than others.
If it were up to me.
1. maintain current format. Sat evening games, super Sunday, MNF etc. This is a given with a sky/BT subscription.
2. All other games made available through box office for 7.50-£10 max.
3. Rotate who is available through standard format and ppv to ensure fairness.
How much from ppv games are allocated I’m still unsure.

Is it not all the £15’s put into a pot and shared equally between 20 clubs?
That’s how you would hope it would work, but then if you look at the first round, Villa WBA and Fulham I believe are on 3 times. Man City for example 0. Essentially Villa fans money would be going into the pockets of clubs whose fans have paid nothing in.
You would hope over a season it would average out. So that all fans would have paid as equal amount as possible. However if it’s goes directly to the club you’ve paid for, then bigger teams with bigger fan base are at an automatic and huge advantage.

With the rate his stock is rising, it will take either a miracle to see him in a Villa shirt next season. Let’s start praying.

£7.50 is what I would charge. £10 max
ultimately you need volume to make it worthwhile. I don’t think the current pricing structure is going to People are going through a hard time right now and I think 15 per game is just asking waaaaaaaay too much.
someone mentioned on another thread about a TV season ticket. Think that should be explored similar to the half season tickets they do and broadcast it through AVTV in our case and clubs own tv channel.
Hopefully by next season things will be back to normal.

Just wanted to say @omariqy this is a brilliant pod. I’ve become a bit pod addict over last 12 month and have only listened to the Liverpool one so far but found it to be fantastic. Will be catching up from start over the next few days. Keep up the good work

Reporter: what did you think of Gareth’s tactics in tonight’s game.
JG: well first I’d like to say what a brilliant manager Dean smith is.

When asked about Jack...
"Sancho and Raheem have the ability to dribble and beat people but he does it in a different way"
"The area he got into for the goal that he created is where he should aim to be more and more regularly" (as if Jack doesn't want to be in those positions)
"He's good at receiving deep" (Kenneth Williams gif)
"He's a different type erm [starts scratching back], Mount coming on in that position or similar position again I thought had an excellent impact on the game he presses so well he moves the ball so quickly and he had a real impact in setting up 2 or 3 chances in an immediate impact on the game"
You might think I'm trolling with that last one, but no, he actually said that.
Can’t take him seriously. Grade A tool.

I’m hoping that he is just playing within himself. It is a friendly after all. No need to go all guns blazing unlike Sunday. If he has got a niggle then don’t overplay and risk anything.

I get that these guys haven’t played together much, but Jesus there is enough attacking talent on that pitch to be playing better than this. this is turgid.
How long can Southgate live off the semis of the World Cup.

In my dream last night he put a CM at left wing. I think it was a made up player though, or someone from CM2 back in the day.
Grass is too short, doesn’t suit his game

Who are we most realistically going for from the champ, if anyone?
Josh king, wouldn’t cost a lot, plays upfront or wide so would be good cover to have. Can’t see us getting benrahma to be honest.

So does anyone think we will bring someone in during the final bit of the window? Personally I can’t see us bringing anyone in, and we will re-assess in jan.

Loved the article about him in the independent today. Always love hearing about the person behind the player and their back story. Such a loveable guy.

Well Birmingham Live have put up a new story today, about our "Hopes" of signing Rashica being boosted, if that makes you feel any better.
Didn’t take long with the click bait did it he’s never coming to us. Put the thread in the hall of fame and it will never be spoken of again.

As some others have said. I’d be happy if he didn’t play the next 2 games. He’s proved his point against Liverpool and Wales, both when he wasn’t even 100% fit.
the whole world has a taste of what he can do, what we have known for years. how special he is.
rest him for next 2 games, get himself 100% for Leicester and beyond.
