Doesn't have to be an inflated fee - just enough to negate any loss.

I don't think we're stupid enough to "Saudi Sale" anyone

Yeah this was my thinking. He costs about £4m per year so that as a loan fee is pretty reasonable

  2. Wonder if this is happening on the basis that V Sports buy a stake in the club and in turn srump up the money for the loan/permanent fee and wages.

That way Vasco get their man and Villa don't lose out financially

  3. Based on the above figures, he's due £14m in wages over the next two years.. that's a big pay off.

Also got £8.5m of transfer amortisation too.

I think he'll get another loan to a Saudi or US team and they'll be asked (ideally) to cover wages and pay £4m loan fee

I've heard him get a lot of praise this season. He has that bit of quality on the ball. But how is energy, his pressing?

Based on this season at Luton, i've read a fair bit on how he really upped his game in that department. Bit of a workhorse apparently. That was probably his main issue during the loan spell so if he has improved on that, he will be a decent pickup.

  5. 'Modest fee' so what like £4-5m?

Barkley has shown that he does well when he plays consistently. Will he have that option at Villa? Who knows but I thing I do know it that if King Unai wants him, that's good enough for me.

  6. We'll always have that absolute peach of a goal he scored against those Leeds scumbags. Forever grateful for that one.

Did his best for us and hope he moves on to a decent club in the summer.

    Interesting...

Off topic a bit but* does Ian Maatsen (currently on loan from Chelsea) have a mandatory clause to join Dortmund when his loan ends?

  8. We have to remember it's a squad game now and the 5 subs off the bench. Depth is key. Gallagher plays a variety of positions so would likely be involved in some way in every game.

Only way I see this happening is with a 'dodgy' deal between friends (aka Wes and Todd). Smart business whatever way you look at it and doubtful that it can be proven if/when someone kicks up a fuss.

Personally, would rather the fee is spent elsewhere.. could probably get Frinpong and Fofana for the asking price of Gallagher

Anyone know what they mean by The Railway? I can't find a pub called that nearby. @Rustibrooks

There's the full tweet. Left of Telegraph at the end in the original post

I'm not sure Luiz will leave, not this summer anyway unless he's forced out.  He was celebrating as much as Emery was on the touchline when we equalised against Liverpool, he loves it here, and will want to play with us in CL for first time.

That and he has put so much effort in to get us into the CL. He'll want to experience it with Villa

  11. Say is was £18m on a 5.5 year deal. That means we've got about £13m left on his amortisation. Could make a big profit IF the rumours about needing to sell a player are true.
