  1. Pushed or not who cares?

We've had two poor seasons and he's been part of the coaching staff. A new manager is here and will bring his own people.

He's done good work with the young players but for all we know he was offered a return to his old role and he turned it down.

Good luck to him, he seems a nice guy but I have no problems with him being pushed or choosing to leave.

    Good post.

KMac has been a good servant, but he along ith Cowans was part of a team that has failed.

  2. The other point is we don't know Lambert's budget.

He does. And he'll know what needs doing with the whole squad. So if he has decided he wants Holt then it will be because the whole deal fits into the plan. He's not going to put all his eggs in the one basket. We wanted Lambert because he's a good manager. Let him manage. If he does something you don't agree with or you can't figure out, you never know, he might know more than you. I'm going to sit back and enjoy watching him re-shape our club.

Bri knows best :) Great post!

  3. There's a big difference in letting a manager buy the likes of Heskey, Beye, Sidwell, Davies, Shorey, et al, all on huge wages with no resale value compared to letting the new manager buy one player IF he wants him that's not on a vast amount comparatively.

Yes he could be a Michael Ricketts or Marcus Stewart, or he could be another Ian Wright or Paul Merson. Point is we have a manager that seems to know his onions, and he certainly knows Grant Holt. If he scores goals for the next couple of seasons then he's already paid for himself.

People have said that they'd take him if he was 28, but not 31 purely on the point of resale. Well, if he was 28 he'd be nearer £8 - £10m, only to be sold after 3 years for £4m. That's a loss of between £4-6m there. If we bought him for somewhere around £4.5m then we're in a similar boat as long as he's kept himself in shape.

End of the day if PL wants him then he's know GH better than any of us. Whether he actually wants him is a moot point though....

Great post sums up where I am

Seconded. Awesome post. I think him & Bent up top could provide 25+ goals next season.

  4. Gary Cahill ruled OUT of Euro 2012 with double jaw fracture.

Martin Kelly called up in his place and no selection for Micah Richards....

What's with the fascination with Plop players??? They had a shite season.

This! How Richards hasn't made the squad is beyond me!

  5. I also have to agree Richard is weirding me out a tad... I even had a weird dream last night about a load of giant bats with huge pointy ears being sat around a big field with the two guys off Richards avatar laughing merrily in the middle of them eating grapes?!

  6. Posted in the how do you feel thread but seems just as appropriate for this one too:-

Sorry but I never agreed with the personal abuse against McLeish and I do feel a bit sorry for him.

This was a marriage doomed to fail right from the first day and the inevitable divorce needs to be handled as painlessly as possible.

Randy Lerner & Faulkner take a huge responsibility in all this IMHO. They chose to ignore the fans and made a commercially disastrous

    decision.

I'm not celebrating ....I just feel kinda releived it's all over as far as McLeish is concerned and leaving AVFC.

I just hope this isn't the end of the clear out, because don't let this be any kind of distraction from the players, who couldn't give a flying fig

about AVFC that we need to get shot of at the football club.

    When are THEY leaving?!!!

Until they are got rid of as well - I pretty much am convinced we could bring in Alex Ferguson and we'd still be gash!!

    This :!:

    Great post Julie
