The tourism argument is noncense as well, Buckhingham Palace would bring in far more money as a visitor attraction.
It already is a tourist attraction and for a few years people have been able to pay to go inside .

Well, quite apart from the argument that charity is an abrogation of government responsibility, you don't need a monarchy to have a charity. Are you seriously suggesting that people only donate to (say) the RSPCA or the RNLI because of the "R" in the name?
No I am not suggesting that people only donate to charities because they have Royal in the name but having a Royal patron or president provides vital publicity for the work of these organisations, unless Prince Andrew is a patron of course

Plenty of under privileged people mainly youngsters have been helped tremendously by Royal charities which is something you can't put a price on in what the monarchy brings to many, some of the poorest in society have been funded by Prince Charles's charity in setting up businesses and have gone on to run successful companies whilst taking on staff from the very same social poor background. Plus, the hundreds of charities that have a Royal as patron have helped in gaining extra funds to help the under privileged people, animals etc.
If people feel better about their lives by having a party and celebrating the jubilee then good for them, because over the last few years there hasn't been much to be cheerful about.

No doubt the report will be released once PMQs has finished.

Losing the way we did was more painful than losing 3-0, the shape was good for the first 70 odd minutes then we folded.

I thought McGinn was very good especially in the first half, Barnes was lucky not to get a red card and we should have won if it wasn't for Pope who made some outstanding saves. A disapointing result but overall we were the better team, already looking forward to see who we buy to improve the first eleven.

Brilliant signing and at a bargain price, also he is likely to help attract other good players to the club. Chuffed to bits with this.

After an injury lay off not surprised that he was a bit rusty last night, as others have said he gave the ball away cheaply but with more game time he will get up to speed.

Ings gets in better positions than Watkins making runs into space for the midfielders to pick him out, always looks a threat.

I hope he didn't get on the pitch last night in an attempt to get him to sign a contract with the promise of more game time, we were weakened in midfield when he came on.

If we play anything like we did in the first half against Spurs we will win, I'm hoping for a 4-0 win.

Arsenal keeper gets to make his first save in the 95th minute.

Poor first half, we just let them play out from the back to the half way line with no press whatsoever. We only showed any urgency when they scored and that was only a matter of time.

Harsh on Chambers being dropped, he hasn't done anything wrong when picked.

Was great to see little Prince Louis sitting on his grandfather's knee watching the Platinum Jubilee celebration, I bet Prince Andrew was so jealous
