Great to see Carlos on the bench, happy with the team I just hope they perform.

Happy with the three points and restricting Palace to only  3 shots in the game, Emery has plenty to work on as so many times we gave the ball away with poor passing or poor decision making. Onwards and upwards.

Karius went down quicker than Divine Brown for the second.

Great game to watch, I can see Madrid taking control in the second half.

Scored in three games on the trot now, hope he keeps the run going against Arsenal.

First half we were awful, we kept giving the ball away cheaply. Better when the subs came on and I hope Emery starts Dhuran and Phil next week.

Says it all really. I'm glad he's industrious and he's definitely an asset right now but he is in no way shape a forward who will win you matches.

Yes you'd have to back all the way back to Southampton away when he won a match for Villa.

Southampton were awful apart from a ten minute spell after the hour mark, they got drone like a kipper.

Superb three points tonight, I thought Young Kamara and Emi M were our stand out performers.

After a difficult first half I thought as the game went on we controlled the match as Leeds ran out of steam. 

I wouldn't mind if Buendia was subbed at half time because we need a more physical presence in the middle, this is going to be another tough battle second half.

Just awful, no urgency again until it was too late.

I really thought we had a chance of doing well in the cup this year due to the draw and with big clubs already out or other clubs drawn against each other in the next round.

Perfect away performance for me, controlled the first 20 minutes so Spurs couldn't get going. Took our goals well and looked like the only team that was going to score, Emery was telling the team to see the game out and take the 0-2 with ten minutes left and made decent subs to counter Spurs fresh legs that came on. 

Kamara was excellent closely followed by Luiz, I hope the injuries picked up arn't too serious.

Not always pounds, good scouting can pick up good players for a smallish fee. For instance Man City bought Julian Alvarez for £14.1m, if Villa had bought him I have no doubt that many would have moaned because they knew nothing about him.

He certainly hasn't improved in the last 12 months.

That was a game that could have finished 5-5, the first 20 minutes of the second half gave me optimism for the second half of the season. At least Unai will now know where we need to strengthen.
