    The round badge looks good.

    The lion looks great.

The issue is it looks to similar to Chelsea. It's not really a fault of the design company. The other option they provided was also good.

I would go further and say that the other option was better by half. It's what I voted for and I would do again if given a choice between all the various possible badges.

But the most vocal and proactive elements of our fanbase get swept up time and again in nostalgia and that's what happened again in this case, to our detriment.

The letter spacing / tracking on the Villa word vs Aston is very very poor, I can't unsee it and looks very amateur hour.

It's what has to be done if you want symmetry.

Villa fans often talk about how our name is beautifully symmetrical, but it's not - only conceptually. Five letters in each word and it begins with A and end with A, but in practice it's completely assymetrical.

It was in the online media at the time that we had to pay around £2 million to Castore to get out of the deal.  That was apparently what triggered the c***suckers rant from Heck.

Some of the people at Castore do suck cocks. I can confirm.

I love this kid.  Proper football brain.

    He's very, very good.

Attributes are a little staggering in some ways: he's fast, tall, strong, has a mean first touch, can dribble, knows how to turn his man, picks out clever passes, and can finish.

Plays with a confidence that belies his inexperience at this level, too.

    Goodness me.

Takes thirty seconds to send an email and cancel. I guess some people don't have thirty seconds spare, each to their own.

You've never had to deal with Villa customer service if you think it's all as simple as that.

We are supporters. We don't change any situation by doing anything. Why post anything at all by that criterion?

It's not that deep mate. Try to have a bit of fun with things sometimes. In the grander scheme of things, this is small change.

    I'll leave it there 👍🏻

    Looking unprofessional is H-i-larious.

Sorry for trying to make light of something that people have gotten carried away about, I'll never do it again 🙄

Here's the thing: You're not changing the situation or making it even 0.1% better by complaining. There is a thread here with 230 pages worth of posts, months and months of people complaining, and it's been silence from the club. It's almost as if they know they're damned if they do and damned if they don't!

I don't like any of the 3 badges but what I've learned from that is that the club is not going to be able to please me while also pleasing everybody else. You might want to think about that for yourself. It's literally impossible. Someone will say in response "it doesn't need to please me it just needs to not be shit", but I'm sorry, that's just not true, this thread proves it. People (by which I mean "the majority") will not be happy with anything less than the image they have in their head of what the badge should look like. Their idea / preference is the right one.

Yes Heck's badge is crap. Yes, so are the others. Yes it's all very frustrating. But if you can't, after 230 pages and endless moaning from countless posters, throw your hands up in the air and try to have a sense of humour about things, then I feel sorry for you.

Hate these types of posts that try to muddy the water.

People might have had issues with the Purslow badge (lion facing right, similar to chelsea, not being bold)  but it was professionally designed.  The Heck badge is totally amateur thus the uproar.

Or you could choose to look at the situation with a sense of humour.

Very well said. That totally cuts to the core issue: What is the purpose of rules? How can these negligible, microscopic after-the-fact determinations about lines on screens really have anything to do with protecting against some practical disadvantages on the pitch?

Thank you. I said similar to a group of friends and was met with "But offside is offside" and "It'll always be a case of millimetres".

The collective brainwashing is really strange. Up to a few years ago when VAR came in, that wasn't the case re: offsides. Bad decisions were being made, but they were being made because in real time it was near impossible for the human eye to pick up a few millimetres, or even centimetres, here or there.

Now we've gone to the other extreme and we are literally measuring with a digital ruler. This is no better than the problem it was designed to fix, and IMO it has made things considerably worse.

You understand that the FA Cup and the Europa Conference League are competitions overseen by completely differently organisations that have their separate rules agreed and published at the start of the season, yeah?

    I do. Thanks for checking.

Now please go ahead - make your reasoned defence for a player receiving 2 yellow cards in the same round of a knock-out tournament and not being suspended in the next round.

    I'll wait.

They just said in the studio that the FA have said Onana isn't going to missing the final, even though he got booked twice, as the rules are different... 🤣

They're all just making it up on the spot now.

Might as well hand the trophies to who they want before the competitions even start.

    What's the point anymore?

I've no love at all for Coventry and the thought of them in a major cup final makes me a little uncomfortable, but I'd have them over that shower of cheating goblins any day of the week, and it sickens me that all the efforts and endeavour of a smaller team who played full of heart and love for the game is undone by some cynical rule-twisting by the powers that be.

Who've now decided that yellow cards don't have the same impact as they do in Europe.

Great work, you **** spineless, arrogant, cowardly, corrupt AND inept bunch of wankstains.

I hate it. Can’t celebrate anything.

PGMOL and VAR have conspired to make a mockery of the offside rule.

Even if you could make an argument that he was clearly offside (which would take a United fan or a PGMOL employee, but those are the same thing anyway), surely the whole basis of the offside rule is that an attacking player shouldn't have an advantage over a defender when the ball is played.

Please tell me how an attacker turned away from goal has an advantage over a defender facing the goal at full pelt?

It's a total joke. Drawing lines (which doesn't work anyway, as anyone can see from that image) is not what the rule is **** for.

    The **** goblins.
