But stadium expansion has been on the agenda a long time now, it’s just infrastructure and logistics have held it back. The obvious solution is build a new stadium. The club could easily change their mind.

If they find other ways to drastically increase the revenue without building a new stadium and/or expanding Villa Park then fair play to them.

Tbf it may not be needed chelsea have been a big fish in the last couple decades and theirs is slightly under ours i think 🤔 but we certainly need some renovation and modernising in a few areas, some penthouse features like the inside of Tottenham’s wouldnt go a miss

We all know we have woeful record full stop. IMO we should look forward by debating ideas on players, tactics etc.. None of us should need reminding of past failings.

Its not problematic and just a interesting stat not a big deal, and we jus need to ensure our recruitment is good enough to give us confidence in beating the likes of them moving forward. Were one of the biggest clubs in English history its about time we stamp our mark again and continue with the tradition we once had in the early part of the 20th century.

All very interesting but what has this to do with transfers ?

Dont know where else to put it mate but as i said if you READ it all, to make sure we have a team that stops this woeful record against these sides for years to come because it’s sickening.

  5. ‘The team most often beaten by Liverpool in league competition are Aston Villa; the Anfield club have beaten them 94 times out of 191’.

‘Manchester United have won 89 of their league matches against Aston Villa, the most Manchester United have won against any club’.

Do you know how much that frustrates me that BOTH of them teams have beaten us more than any other team in the league’s history 😤 thats why i hate them as much as i do I remember waiting 6/7 years to beat just one of them teams 😠 moving forward we need to make sure we have teams that are gonna get more wins against clubs like that because im sick of our record against these bast***d northern sides. Time to change this joke of a record and make new history.

Like most on here got up this morning and felt absolutely sick Villa losing yesterday in the manner they did. Still angry at the substitution of Bailey. Therein lies the difference between Villa and Man U even in the Ferguson period. Manchester bring on subs to try and win the game while Villa do the complete opposite.

I agree that generally McTominay is not seen as an attacker but he has been scoring goals lately and his cameo was to push onto the weak Villa CBs whenever possible. Sadly it worked.

Emery got it wrong yesterday right from the off and compounded that further by settling for the draw when, yet again, Man U went for the win.

Its a mentality issue against Manchester United and Haag exploited it!

Angry, bitter and seeking immediate revenge which is not possible is how im feeling even almost 24 hours after, confidently telling these united boys after their 3-2 win against us to come to villa park and see what happens there and that backfired which has me feeling battered but i really should know better its United at villa park after all the scripts already f**king written and forever will be it seems.

Just when I thought that curse was finally lifted it well and truly isn’t, look i hate the blues but man united are on that level or even worse i absolutely hate them they have angered me way too much since watching villa, cant speak for everyone of course, doesn’t mean i don't bleed villa by hating blues and united on par and believe me i really hate them.

I’ve woken up just as angry as I was last night. Amazing the impact a Villa win it a Villa loss has. And a loss against Man Utd in the manner we lost is an absolute sickener.

Tell me about it, especially when you get ‘why aren’t you answering us’ messages from the one thousand united fans close🤬really felt sick after that one just crushed, if newcastle beating us at home hurt then this is one that will always hurt alot more 😤

  8. This fixture means everything  to me the fact we lost them both in such manner has crushed me and it may look like I'm overreacting, but we can win our next two and i wont be bothered because this was a game i had us to get a win against them especially after the reverse fixture and also to progress against Chelsea in the cup and we have crumbled at both! Im gonna want us to win of course but i have so much anger and disappointment in me its hard to think about feeling happy about anything we do as a club for a while, please don't come for my head im just devastated after today and even this week, my phone hasn’t stopped today got so many voice messages off united fans that I'm surrounded by, its got to me this one and it hurts

If he was on the bench at all he should have been capable of coming on. Be surprised not to see him play at least 45 mins v United. If he doesn't, we're **** tbh.

    Well and truly

Is this the most important game that Villa have played since we got promoted?  Sliding doors moment?

If we win, i think we'll qualify for the Champions League and all the extra revenue and exposure means we can then do it again.

If we lose, i think Man Utd & Spurs will overhaul us for 4th and 5th with our season ending on a whimper.  We miss out on £50 million and next season Man Utd, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle are stronger.

No the west hame game where grealish scored was, this is nothing in comparison

Very much hoping we can change some starting personnel or tweak the system, or both.

Pau to start? Tough call after getting no minutes midweek and barely playing this side of Christmas. We desperately need him though, so I’m picking him below in the hope that Emery believes him to be fit. Digne back to make the bench possibly?

I would also like Cash and Moreno to be more conservative coming forward and create a more solid four at the back, rather than leaving so much space for Garnacho and Rashford to run into.  Having McGinn on the right side and Ramsey back on the left side may help as well? I wouldn’t even be against dropping Kamara for a game and starting McGinn next to Luiz, but I’ll go with both starting the game.

So who to play in the 10 role next to/just behind Watkins? Again, tough call from Bailey, Diaby, Tielemans or even Rogers?  I’ll go Bailey to start but certainly some minutes for Diaby and Rogers in the second half.

Most of all I hope we see an early indicator/reaction from midweek. We at the very least need to match them for work rate and intensity to get anything out of this.  I don’t think it’s a must win game but it’s certainly a must not lose. Really don’t want our league position to be cut to five points. Keep it at eight points with the draw or better still go eleven clear of them with a win.  Just not confident of us keeping a clean sheet again, so might be a case of trying to score them:

                                Martinez

        Cash        Carlos       Pau      Moreno

                      Kamara         Luiz

         McGinn                              Ramsey

                       Bailey        Watkins

Subs:  Olsen, Wright, KKH, Lenglet, Iroegbunam, Tielemans, Rogers, Zaniolo, Diaby

I think it’s going to be a really tough game. Would love to sneak a 2-1 win but my head is saying 2-2 or a narrow defeat.   UTV

Agree but maybe start diaby and then bring on bailey at HT if things arent working, definitely no later than 60 mins thats for sure… i love baileys impact from the bench

  13. The only reason we should have any panic and doubt is simply because it is Man’ f**king’ united the club of our worst nightmares in top flight history but if we are looking at it on paper and form then we shouldn’t be worrying, but i can see why maybe we are shaky after Wednesday night, we just need to keep that discipline again and be confident, players might be thinking about the 3-2 loss in the reverse fixture, but they need to erase that quickly, what we cannot have is that same backline because they are awful, Torres has to be playing that 90 mins and he should have been given minutes against Chelsea to get back into familiarity… and for the first time ever since watching villa from 98’ we are favourites with bookies to win this match only slightly though 🤝

Annoying that we won't be fresh for this with players playing pointless minutes now.

We will be okay wed-sun isn’t that bad for players tbf … and i think villa prefer this

  15. Lee Dixon please go F**k yourself you word removed, he p*ssed me off more than the performance the whole bloody game he spoke about villa so badly it was unreal, at any opportunity he pounced to talk so negatively about us…but anyway what the f**k was that, i said before the match anyone thinking Konsa’s absence will be minor can think again! he is colossal for us.

Carlos,Lenglet and Cash cannot be starting im sorry ive enough from them all season and Kamara can probably add himself to that list after tonight, there is no MOTM but i guess i picked Diaby 😤

No fluidity, no patterns of play it all went to pot tonight, Emery has to fix that very quickly we have a very huge game coming up we cannot afford any errors.

What guarantee is there that a new first team signing would come in and change things now?  Our summer signings are currently being thrown under the bus by some fans, and being blamed for our current slump.  What if this mythical January signing doesn't hit the ground running?

I'd rather trust Emery and co to fix things, than just throw money at someone in the hope they do.

We have a right to ask for change through analysing the form of the team, so if certain players have not been nowhere near good enough we have the right to point this out as fans of this club, I appreciate the work we have done up until this point.

However standing still and not risking to improve the squad would be an idiotic approach, the scouting team have a job to identify the right players to improve and do their due diligence in the process.
