Grealish and Wes show , the others hide. Nkamba hides whenever we have the ball, his positional sense is terrible, or hes hiding because he's scared. We never win the second ball Wes wins the first ball it it goes to the opposition. Grealish works his socks off closing down while others disappear.
We need to re group , as Norwich did when we dismantled them at home. Hourihane should start and Douglas and maybe Trez. McQuin néeds resting , saw him fade last season and he had a couple of games out and came back stronger. Play Grealish there and let Hourihane pressure the opposition's back 4 .
. We need reinforcements, a forward is a must . Wes gets injured and we are stuffed.
Smiths demeanor changed in his pre match interview, he looked downbeat. This is a real test of our metal, seen the look before and it didn't end well but we have a chance to pull this around , we need to rebuild the confidence we had and make ourselves harder to beat .UTV
'Wes gets injured and we are stuffed', is this meant as a joke?

Frankly, I would sell Wesley for any money I could get and put the money towards a new striker. Whoever advised the club on this transfer should be sacked, end of......

It's taken years but someone has come for Bosko Balaban's crown and absolutely booted him off the throne. £22m. Incredible.
Can't play football.
Fat bloke from the office who comes to 5-a-side, stinks the place out and people wish wouldn't come anymore because no one wants to be on his team.
I thought we might be good enough to just about stay up despite him based on early promise. Incorrect. Other teams are picking up bonus points every week. If we don't replace him we're down.
What was that story about the agent? Needs looking into. People have made money here, and Villa have been taken to the cleaners.
Again.....

Madness is...
doing the same thing time after time and expecting a different result...
see Wesley for our current example.....

At his age he should be approaching his peak. People on here seem to think he is only 17 years old......

Nobody likes losing. But then there's cutting off your nose to spite your face.
I was very negative to the team selection, which I think can be verified by anyone the ventured into the pre match thread. But Lansbury and especially Hause did rather well. Wesley is still a donkey, but at least he got subbed. The team selection wasn't the issue today. It was the urgency, tactics and calls from Deano.
But all of this is a work in progress and will improve.
'Work in progress'. Where is the progress?

Oh well, that's the first 'winnable ' game lost then......

I don’t get all the excuses made for him. He is genuinely a dreadful, dreadful footballer. He has no redeeming qualities. At all. He does nothing well.
Smith is aware that Wesley is struggling to adapt to the Premiership I am sure. He obviously believes that the club doesn't have a better alternative or he would have made the change by now. He looks completely bewildered in some games and contributes virtually nothing except falling over in an effort to gain a free kick. The players will have seen what fans can see and will expect the club to buy a proven goalscorer in January.
If the club does not react to this 'problem' and show a lack of ambition ( for survival ) then I would imagine our two best players (Grealish and McGinn ) may be tempted to move a more successful club. This would ensure our demise to the Championship

Charlie Nicholas half time assessment is that Villa are being let down by Wesley being unable to ' hold the ball up'. Seems like it is not just Villa supporters who can see the 'problem'. Never mind , still 45 minutes for Wes to prove everyone wrong!

Hi Guys,
Personally I believe we will be staring relegation in the face if we don't replace Wesley in January . Whoever recommended him must have been a second hand car dealer in another life. The club will need to dig deep to replace him with a proven goal scorer or we will enevitably lose our two best t assets ( Grealish and McGinn ).

Hi guys I hope I have landed in the right area to be 'welcomed' as I have found the process confusing and have been trying to complete the newbie welcome part of being accepted.
My problem may be my advanced years and an inability to navigate around new sites.
I have been following Villa since the 1950's and never miss seeing them when I am able.
I promise treat everybody with the upmost respect when I post.
Regards,
Grahaam
