  1. He already is damaged goods to an extent. He is as much a championship manager as he is a Premiership manager . I bet he can't believe his luck that us mugs are running after him. Having said that can't blame him for wanting the job.
  2. whens the club statement? thought was spposed to be at 6 ?
  3. yeh i guess we cant blame McLeish for wanting the job etc and hope he proves me very wrong. But this is such a stupid gamble by the board...for so many reasons and still can't work out where the hell they are coming from with thisn appointment
  4. Indeed its that mental and nonsensical. The words YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING spring to mind...
  5. in Prem terms yes probably is. a controversially shit one.
  6. Time for a new poll? You know - who will be the next Villa manager ...(after McLeish).....?
  7. The clubs spin will be fascinatingly embarrassing to read on all of this..
  8. Feels like we're about to open the gates of hell or something So stupid on so many levels
  9. Ridiculous appointment and another daft contract no doubt. Dress it up anyway you want - a shambolic "managerial search" and a diabolical appointment on so many levels its not even funny. The likes of Neil Moxley have sadly been proven right
  10. So ridiculous if true. Would be inkeeping with the stupidness of it all tho
  11. Look at the poll above - some ppl actually did vote for Martinez. McLeish's name is curiously not onj the poll is it?? As for Big Sam has never relegated a side either , has much more Prem pedigree and would happily have him here now instead of McLeish .
  12. have the board not learnt anything? if true that just makes this whole thing even more ludicrous but i guess is pretty apt in keeping with just how ridiculous things are at Villa of late
  13. Well Martinez and McClaren have never relegated a side for starters.
  14. It will just be a statement. McLeish is back on his holidays by all reports. Theres no way a press conference will happen. Maybe in a couple of weeks!
  15. i would have thought this evening. McLeish is now back on his holidays by all accounts.
  16. Yep- Most of the country can't understand this decision.
  17. someone posted an old article about McLeish before he took the Birmingham job spent a week or so in Lyon when Houllier was still in charge. I think Houllier may have recommend him or given advice to club. It may well be his brainwave of an idea. Also read that Lerner has "got on" with McLeish over past few years. Either way is diabolical decision.
  18. I expect the statement to be released tonight will confirm McLeish. McLeish is back on his holidays by all accounts today so to soften the blow there wont be an actual press conference for over a week or so. nightmare
