  1. All those shirts are awful.

i think that was the under current of his post

    Oh right

Sometimes is hard to tell on here when ppl are being sarcastic or not.

McLeish will look pretty apt in a Macron coat tho im sure.

  2. ahhh good to see that "rent-a quote" Michael Gove come out with some more "lacking a real understanding of the man in the street" bollox.

It seems that Give (who I thought had a responsibility for Education?) is now trumpeting that we should as a country invest millions in buying the queen a new yacht!

    link

I suppose when you are part of a Tory Gvmt that has no real sense of what is happening to the UK population then schemes like a new Royal Yacht would seem like a good idea. More seriously though it does show how Gove and the rest of the Gvmt have no idea of the hardships that their policies are having on most people outside of their key support areas. To even suggest this as an idea is actually quite appalling and really Gove should look at himself and start to get a grip on what is happening rather than schemes like this

He must either be mentally ill or trolling.

  3. Why can't ex-footballers just get a job and get on with life like the rest of us ?

I feel for Dean but he's had a lucky life, far better than most get and now he must get a grip and move on

These type of "get a grip" comments whilst understandable are incredibly naive and verge on stupidity.

It doesnt matter how much money he has or doesn't have he can still be prone to mental illness or depression like anyone can if he is wired up that way.

Things like depression are not just a case of sulking too much and having a bad lifestyle (tho obviously that doesn't help) .

The bloke is obviously troubled if he tried to kill himself .

No offense but you must have had very sheltered life if do not know of a relative or friend who has had bad depression or been suicidal. Its not always for specific reasons - let alone material wealth.

Whilst he doesn't deserve more sympathy than anyone else i dont see why the need to vaguely ridicule him either.

  4. I, Partridge might just be the funniest book ever written

My words and not the words of Shakin Stevens either

I see you are like me, I love the Partridge quotes, many times at work I have used "I belieeevvve we've established that" when you have to explain things a number of times....only for my mate to be the only one who picks up on it, whilst the rest look at me like Im some sort of wierdo,,,lol

Cant wait to start on the Partridge book, expecting big things from it now though...especially as you have rated it so highly.

I'm about 200something pages in -which is about bit more than two thirds of it - and can confirm it is indeed very funny and very good.

One funniest books i have read.

Damn i sound bit Partidge-esque saying (or typing) that above . But yeh if you like Alan Partridge it is indeed very funny , "lovely stuff" and ties in with Alan Partridge TV shows / imaginary career incredibly well.

There is an audio book version available but ive been reading the book with an Alan Partridge voice in my head anyhow.

    Definitely recommended.

  5. I think he is an awlful player and i'd be gobsmaked if he ever played regular football for a top half prem team.

If he hadn't come through the youth system he wouldn't get the love he does from a lot of fans.

Don't get your train of thought here at all.

He is far from an "awful player" , he's a decent player who is bit naive , still learning his game and is inconsistent but at times also can be very good.

Playing under these circumstances and under this incoherent manager doesn't help either.

But to say Albrighton is "awful" is just utterly stupid.

  6. He is a decent player.

Inconsistent - yes- but does not deserve the stick or the venom of the original poster.

He's still inexperienced , bit naive and playing in a side with a poor manager and not the best of circumstances.

His crossing at times can be excellent or at times it can be poor.

Same goes for his decision making.

Decent player and needs our support not written off like the original poster has bizarrely done.

  7. Shit game.

Had a spell in 2nd half were actually played some decent stuff but first half was utterly woeful. Overall it was another shit game of football.

Everton were poor , had injuries at the back and had makeshift defense - they were there for the taking but not under this crap manager.

    5 wins in 21 .

    Embarrasing.

doesnt that make moyes a crap manager too? after all, he's managed not to beat villa who apparently have the worst manager in the history of football and a load of awful players

What on earth are you on about?

Everton had key injuries to likes of Distin today - their defense was makeshift.

If you hadn't noticed Everton have won more games and are above us in league .

Of course Moyes is a much better manager than McCraap.

Gary Megson is better Premier league manager than McLeish.
