Can @Villain4Life or any peeps who watch the Scottish premiership advise whether Odsonne Edouard would be a better shout than Morelos if we are looking at that league ?

Morelos is the better striker, he's taken his game to a new level this season and his temperament seems much improved (4 yellows in 17 games all competitions I think). Edouard has arguably scored in bigger games (Old Firm), Champions League etc but Morelos movement off the ball and hold up play is a lot better. Don't get me wrong, they are both good young strikers but if I had the choice I would choose Morelos.

Morelos also back in the Colombia squad for the 2 friendlies coming up which are being played in Europe. If he gets a decent chance and scores, his value will increase even further.

  2. He's really impressed me in the limited game time he's had this season, we seem more complete with him and Targett in the starting line up.

He'll be keeping his place for the Brighton game imo, I'd imagine barring any injuries it will be the same 11 that start.

  3. Grealish needs to be further up the pitch, playing far too deep, yeah he's still dictating but we need him starting it a bit further forward. Hourihane has the vision for a pass and can strike from distance, think he deserves a chance, he should have came on when West Ham went down to 10 men imo.

Jota is skilful but doesn't have the pace to play out wide in this league, he either has to be central or introduced as a sub. Trezeguet is the better option due to his pace. I would even give Kodjia a run there and maybe drop El Ghazi to the bench.

Wesley needs more players around him, far too isolated.

Defensively we look solid, that's the major plus point. Just need to tweak it going forward and hopefully it clicks sooner rather than later.

  4. I've been doing it since start of the year, only invested £70 but got a profit of £98.00 atm. Mainly Grealish and Mings.

I feel like if you buy a player here and there isn't to going to work for you. You've got to have at least 30 plus shares in a player to generate good profit.

  5. I think Premier League defenders will hate playing against Kodjia, he's unpredictable. Even he doesn't know what he's going to do at times! So he might surprise us as and when he is given a chance.

Just need to hope Wesley finds the net quickly and that we can share goals throughout the team.

looks like Webster to Brighton is gonna happen, 20 or 22m depending on the news outlet.

Makes you wonder how serious we were with going in for him?, if we had really wanted him sure we could have stumped that up, does make me wonder if DS really wanted him at all (maybe was willing to go 10-15 rather than 20/22?)

Are people generally happy with Engels & Konsa for 20m?, rather than Webster for 20/22m?

I would rather have Engels, Konsa & Hause, rather than the risk of having Elphick as back up if we did sign an experienced PL defender.

Question.  How many is too many in one window?

Are you including last season's loan players who are now permanent in this? As I would personally discount those even thought we signed them now.

So to me, it's only Wesley, Jota, Konsa & Targett in so far who are new signings. Hope that makes sense.

  8. Hadn't heard of this guy until today, looks an exciting prospect tbh. Also building a relationship with Man City isn't the worst idea either.

He plays well and we make profit selling him back to them.

  9. Living & working in Leeds, Leeds fans today are worried as Phillips wasn't at their kit launch last night, in some of their own words "Our worst 3 players turned up to it".

In all honestly why wouldn't arguably their best player/one of their own not be the centre piece to their kit launch?

I've had my doubts about this, as my own thoughts were it was all a smokescreen and we were trying to land Jansson but that's obviously not happened.  I now  think Phillips might be a goer.

  10. Tierney isn't worth the money, been very injury prone this season. Rumours up North it's a long term issue which can only be managed going forward.

Also his stats for an attacking full back are awful, mind you that might be more to do with the fact he's compared to Robertson every two minutes.

le10sport's article does not refer to Villa at all. Rongier's main link appears to be with Marseilles at the moment, who are looking at a couple of midfield options. They do refer back to an older article thinking he could be purchased for around £13.5m (which I think we knew already).

Marseille are having to sell to cover FFP (Think I read 50M euros worth of players), so I don't think they'll be buying anyone atm.

  12. In my opinion, Butland is not the same keeper he was before his serious injuries. There's a reason Prem teams haven't taken him away from Stoke. if we sign him, I'll support him but I think he'll lose us more points than he will save us.

Tavernier is great on the ball, I could see why he might be a favourite of DS. Always wary of SPL players making the step up though, the gap in quality cannot be put into words.

It actually can, it's not a big as people down south think imo. Look at Aberdeen last season, took a Burnley team who finished 7th in the Premier League to extra time and were unlucky not to beat them. That's Aberdeen, not even Rangers or Celtic.

We just witnessed over the weekend, two of England's best footballing teams in one of the worst matches we've seen in a long time, playing for the biggest club prize. Yet people want to belittle the SPL, where Van Dijk came from, Armstrong at Southampton had a really good season when he got in the team. Maddison at Leicester had a season on loan up there and has been quoted as saying it helped his development.

The only gap is the financial one, which to be fair is astronomic but even all that money doesn't guarantee success.

Tavernier would be a solid signing at RB, I have no doubt over that. He's got a great delivery, good engine and very rarely injured.

  14. It's a very shrewd signing imo, he's a clever player that can unlock defences, something we'll need in the Premier League. Smith knows him well and Jota played his best football under Smith. I really don't' see the issue with this signing as it clearly adds to what we've already got.

  15. I don't want to be that guy and I truly hope he stays with us his whole career in the Premier League and he gets to achieve it all with us, however is there even the slightest of chances he might feel, it's job done and he can't go any higher (feelings wise) that captaining his club back to the big time, scoring winners against rivals etc. As a local lad it's pretty much been the fairy tale season despite his injury lay off. Would he want to obtain Champions League football and England recognition now or do we think he is happy to wait that bit longer and see if he can get that playing with his boyhood team?
