For me as bad as the team was and several individuals shocking, part of the blame has to go on Kev Mac. I no he is doing a good thing filling in etc but surely any1 knows that beye has never played left back before so why play him there in such an important game and also Ireland is not a defensive midfielder and never has been so again why play him there. Also Albrighton wide left/upfront.....he is a right sided winger WTF. The managers position needs sorting now and the team and staff know where they stand and can make some kind of positive progress into getting results or we are fooked!

For me villa just were wank second half, some players did not look fit and imo should not have been playing, i just hope that its a sharp wake up call to m.o.n that our squad simply isnt big enough to compete for top 4 yet. Several new players needed in summer or we will fall miserably behind spurs n city and probably Everton too as they would have been up there had the start of their season been so poor. Heskey is just utter crap you want a striker to score you goals n he simply doesnt, n what he does for england he certainly doesnt do for us. Only winning the FA cup can turn our season into something decent otherwise its the same old villa over last 3 years not really improving! Randy get the reddies out!!!!

Good point but we had 56% percession to Arsenals 46%, not many teams do that, were so short of a poacher, some1 who has knack of being in right place at right time!! Goals win games and as well as Heskey and Gabby played 2night, they never look like scoring, Summer move for bent or similar then we would be a force!!!

Milner tired more because he ran his ass off to cover Petrov, who every time he went forward didn't have the legs to get back when WHU eventually countered. Totally agree wiv u here mate, petrov just doesnt cut it for me in most games anyway, milner always gives 100% and goes till final whistle.

Poor performance again on home soil, Ashley Young needs to learn how to cross a ball past the 1st man on a set piece. Were crying out for a better striker upfront big time and M.O.N says he won't by, frustrating, i think he needs to read this thread as were all thinking the same thing. Had chance to catch up Spurs n City and maintain challenge for top 4 2day and again we fail, personally don't think that were a top4 team unless we get 2 new strikers that can finish more consistently. Carew needs to start next game imo, Heskey works hard but never gonna score. Were falling away again just like last year, and its likely Everton will catch us if they continue the way they are. Carling Cup is our priority in mu opinion now.

Petrov looked bolloxed last 15mins as he does in most games.

Thought it was a great away performance and job done. At last its great we have goals coming from centre midfield, Milner was superb along with downing and young. Just think we need a bit more from our strikers as niether really ever looked like scoring. Good position to be in for 2nd leg, if we get 1st goal on wed its all over for me, wembley wembley!!!!

I totally agree with you here mate, we are 1 really good striker short of being really good, Gabby looks as if he is going down the same route as last year. Defensively we are much better although we leak the odd late goal, but looking at the teams around us we have scored far less goals by some margin and i agree with you and think MON just doest see this, Bent could have been bought at start of season, for me he is our only option although i think its never gonna happen!!! Unlucky to lose game, but 2 goals 3 goals scored in r last 4 games, and it being mainly set pieces that gets goals vs top four sides is ringing alarm bells for me!!! Are strikers just dont cut as do spurs or man citys!!!

Well said mate, we never seem to be a team that the forwards get chances off through balls much, with Milner in the middle id like to think it would happen more. Thought we played well 2nite and didnt soak up pressure after we went 2v1 up like we have done of recent. Look forward to sat vs Hull who we should be beating. Up the Villa.

I have no idea why we go hoof hoof hoof, we cant pass and keep the ball and be patient, Ashley Young.....who is he!!! Enough said, oh and Petrov has been carried by Barry and it is now showing he has no creativity what so ever, would love 2 see 1 of our centre midfielders push forward! I have said before in most of games we get a goal and I honestly do not no where the next 1 will come from or who!!

We deserved to win, what game were you watching mate, if it wasnt for Friedel it would have been 4 or 5, we had no chnaces at all n didnt create either, new midfielder needed in Jan for def, Cuellar MOM for me easily!

I prefer to think of the good old days. Heskey's goal/app ratio: 100%, 1 in 1. Get in. Yeah nice but think we all know he was in the right place at right time, most of the time he never is!!

We had are best win of season with NRC as captain, why on earth is he not playing, sidwell and petrov are not good enough. Crap performance, take a point but we should be beating teams like that, downing is good for future hopefully some creativity coz Petrov and sidwell got naff all going forward!

Poor again add for me were lacking so much creativity its untrue, makes me realise why barry left, mon must see what we see n know he has to do something about it, **** sidwell off n bring in nrc n geet petrov pushed forward please maybe then we can geet some more goals which were sincerely lacking!!!!!

I agree mate, we look short of goals everygame we go into, we score 1 we concead 1 n then im left wondering where the 2nd goal may come from!!!!
