Dunno why, but I think we'll sign McNeil over Bailey.

He is probably more of a Smith type signing to be fair mate, hard working in defence and attack whereas Bailey does no pressing and doesn’t contribute defensively, traore actually does more off the ball work, going forward though Bailey would give us a new dimension he’s fast, skilful, scores, creates and will terrify defences

Just out of interest where would you see an ACM fitting in to our staring 11?

Would you see it something like this:

                 McGinn     Luiz

    Traore       Buendia      Grealish

                         ACM

                         Ollie

Only playing 3 at the back?

Move buendia right and new ACM between buendia and grealish. Gives us options to rotate too

Who do Liverpool replace Salah with if gets injured? You're talking pipe dream signings based on hypothetical injuries. No club is run like that especially under FFP besides the fact Smith and Purslow have waxed lyrically about the difficulty of making signings, there's 4 parties to agree before it has legs. You seem to be living in some computer game football manager world where signings are so easy

I think you are too focused on the what if Watkins gets injured part of this mate. I would flip this debate and say who have we got to come off the bench to change a game?

  4. Saying we can’t guarantee Tammy starting and then saying he should move elsewhere, well what team can he just sign for and expect to be starting every game? This is the PL competition is fierce at most clubs. He would get plenty of game time here whether starting, coming of the bench, covering a dodgy red against Utd, covering injuries and cup games. He is frustrated at Chelsea because he is being frozen out and not being given a chance to prove himself.

We also need to be able to change things up from the bench. How many games last season did a sub make a positive impact to the result? I can only remember the baggies and Fulham games. Having the ability to bring either of Tammy or Ollie off the bench when we are drawing or losing would be much better than the options we have now. That could be the difference of making Europe or not.

Also this Tammy doesn’t press, he does admittedly not as well or as persistently as Ollie.

Tammy would be a good alternative to Ollie in the squad and much better than Wes or Davis. We wouldn’t lose the goal threat that we do when we have Wes or Davis playing.

imo Tammy would be a great signing, maybe we could get him on loan with option to buy? But either way a striker should be high up on the priority list this window whether that be Tammy or someone else like edouard.

TRO, I think you’re right but Abraham won’t come here to sit on the bench

The next step requires 2 players pushing each other in every position mate. If we do get someone like Tammy they have to come here knowing that as it stands it’s Ollie’s position to lose and they both need to earn their start. With cup games each player would get plenty of game time too

I think we do need a full back, a young one to cover both sides, Williams would fit the bill

Tbf mate I think we can do without if we keep guilbert this season and then give revan and Kessler another year to develop, maybe loan them out to give them some first team football

Be intriguing to know if there was ever anything  in the kinks to Giorgian de Arrascaeta… Cannot see us signing Smith-Rowe, sadly, especially when they are about to drop £50mill on a CB and we need a new name to argue over…

Going back to Brandt at Dortmund, is he the type of signing we would look to make, ticks a lot of boxes.

Is there one? The one I used had “technical issues” and went off line for about 3 months with no compensation (of course) and zero support - any questions and you were threatened with being cut off!

    Happy for any suggestions?

There are a few good ones that are long-standing providers to people on the villa Facebook pages mate. I’ve had mine for 3 years now

He’s wanted by Arsenal ??? he is not Koopmeiners?? He is a very highly regarded young DM from an ever improving league ?

What’s wrong with koopmeiners? He would be a good signing if we got him and would improve the first 11

Mostly agree except for the fast striker as a wide man. That how he looks to me. He needs to bulk up and be more robust to play senior level. And the wide play is to make him a more rounded player learn where his wingers want him to run. He will probably play wide for the seniors as well as cf once makes his breakthrough. Long term is definitely a striker.

I think he looks like a modern day wide forward mate, not a winger. Yes long term he will be a st but I think he will breakthrough as a wide forward and get most of his first team game time there until he bulks up

I think his skill and creativity is not at the standard to be top class there. But as a centre forward his movement, pace, workrate and finishing can make him world class. As a wide player he look like a fast striker playing wide, rather than a natural wideman to me.

Long term maybe, but this season I can see him getting most of his game time as a wide forward especially after excelling there in the academy. Disagree that he looks like a fast st playing wide, IMO he has taken his game to another level whilst playing there. I think he needs to bulk up a bit to play st

Barry works hard and has good pace and finishing. For me he is still a little too lightweight. But a summer in the gym could see him knocking on the door. He is 18 now this the age he should be looking to make a breakthrough.

I agree with you mate, just think his style, pace, control on the ball, vision and skills will make him an outstanding wide forward. He has been brilliant there for the academy. Brings players in, assists and still gets a bag load of goals

On a separate note, I would be fine going into the season with what we have upfront as Louie Barry is also knocking at the door, Wesley has a whole summer and preseason to get fit and develop his game and will be super fresh, if he were to be thrown in, he'd need 4 or 5 games to get properly match fit and sharp, but I think he could make a real impact with Buendia and Jack supplying as he's a good finisher.

I think Barry will more likely break through this season but as a wide forward mate. Young is the 1 from the academy that I think is most suited to eventually breakthrough as a st, similar style to Ollie, quick, strong, skilful and physically mature beyond his years, maybe loan young out this season and see if he is ready next season.

I would like to get someone like daka that can play across the front and be a suitable backup to Ollie. It would be an incredible front line having Ollie with 3 out of Jack, buendia, daka or traore behind him

  14. So we have more or less signed buendia, been linked with a move for ward prowse and people are seriously suggesting wood? Nothing against him but look at the level that we are targeting and the style we are wanting to play, wood would only play for the last 10 mins when chasing a game. I would prefer if we were to play buendia at 10 and sign someone like daka that can play rw or st

  15. 1: Buendia, Neto, Daka.

2: de arrascaeta, Olise, lookman, Rashica, pereira.

3: Buchanan, wijndal, (Danny rose on a free?).

    4: Anguissa, koopmeiners, Zakaria, bissouma.

Sign 1 from each and it will be a big improvement to the first 11 and squad. Maybe a loan bid for Tammy if 1 of Wes or Davis leaves on loan

  16. Are we seriously in a place to say no to Rashica if we can get him for £10m-15m? This is a player that who was brilliant last season and that form made RB Leipzig, last seasons champions league semi finalists, try to sign him. He may not have had the best of seasons this year but we have seen with our very own Mcginn that it can take some time to get back to form after an injury, the guy needs a pre season to get back to his best. Anyone who seen him last season will know that he can offer us so much that we lack, he has pace in abundance, great finisher, brings the best out of other players, can create out of nothing and can play anywhere along the front line. Would be a good signing IMO and potentially at a bargain price. Would be a joy to watch him running on to through balls from grealish

Yep, I would love to see this or similar:

                             Martinez

    Cash        Konsa       Mings       Targett

               Koopmeiners    Sanson

                       De Arrascaeta

    Buendia           Watkins         Grealish

Just 3 signings there that would Massively improve us.

Looks good to me mate. Plus options with rotation with Mcginn, luiz and traore to keep the team fresh

Keep seeing links to Anguissa - prob the same old online bs n made up rumours though, really not looking forward to all the fake itk crap again.

    Is he really that good?

And would he be a major upgrade or level above our present midfielders?

In my opinion mate he is a level above what we have but most important is that he would give us balance. We need a signing like him, bissouma, koopmeiners etc to give us balance in the middle and then add a quality 10 and and the midfield will be sorted.
