Sure you haven't pulled up a web page from May ?
That was my initial thought, but don't think so judging by the names listed in the running..

According to oddschecker Pearson has taken the most money with 25% of the market. Moyes second with 19% and Sherwood third with 8%! Bruce is 4th, just behind with 7%

I'm certainly not advocating Rowett in this post BUT that 9th place needs to be taken in the context of the resources at his disposal, not to mention the ownership he works under. It's a minor miracle and he clearly has something about him. I'll admit I've never watched one of his games so I take it anecdotally that he's got a very dour footballing style.
...and a dour team to boot
Might be more adventurous with a better squad.
He's not for me though, even if it would ruffle a few b'loser feathers

Why must the manager have a lot of experience ?
Because it's (supposedly) easier to gauge how successful someone might be if they've have a track record of success/experience

Think I've sussed the problem -
We keep sacking managers BEFORE they've had chance to do a handover to their successor

So ambitious he went to Sunderland and repeated the mistakes he made here.
He is another of yesterday's men, his methods and football belong in another era and so does he.
He is in semi retirement with Ireland and I don't see that changing and hope it doesn't to see him return to B6.
Oh yeah? Youve failed to mention how well ROI did this summer - even with the handicap of ciaran clarke in the squad.
And we managed to offload him to newcastle, so just think what a force we'd be

Why would MON come back? not that I mind - but surely he can aim higher
Because hes an ambitious manager and we have funding and ambition now to be the best in the world(!)

The bottom four on that list make Sherwood look like Alex Ferguson!
Both sherwood and garde were set up to fail. In fact looking back at sherwoods record, with the players he had at hand, he now looks like a miracle worker.
Lambert has a good history of buiding teams in lower divisions, but we hounded (dont get me wrong it was a painful time)him out when the real problem was higher up.
Didnt 'eck' even get the scum promoted?
There's no simple answer is there? Whoever comes in now is effectively using another mans tools to do the job, and whilst its great to have an ambitious owner, it doesnt exactly lift the pressure in helping this brand new team come together.

Whatever happened to the 'Jedi-knack' appreciation club.

Those calling for a no-nonsense manager -
how about those two shouty men from Salford FC?
Or Gordon Ramsey perhaps? He does have a football background I suppose.
The carrot is mightier than the stick

We've all overlooked the fact that there's one man who knows the club inside out, has grit and determination as well as hundreds of appearances for the club, and can lead the team to glory both on and off the field:

Bruce for me.
But I have to say that the more important question really is, why cant a team with the players we already have win games ? As far as the team goes we must be in the top 3 in the championship so why cant we win games ? is it the wrong tactics, players in the wrong position or what ?
What can the next manager do to get this lot firing on all cylinders ?
Play some midfielders?

Come back Martin Oneill/ Paul Lambert
All is forgiven

With numerous promotions between them, it's clear that we need to form a steve bruce, chris hughton, RDM, paul lambert 'supergroup',
- much like the travelling wilberrys, or mcbusted

Not sure if there's irony involved, or if it's a genuine fan club, but I've noticed a small section of the north stand sing 'Alan Hutton, Alan Hutton' to the da da da da bit in the Proclaimers '500 miles'
