They are cheering for Samatta. Not the Villa.
If they had the option of either Villa surviving and keeping Samatta or Villa going down and Samatta signing for let's say Man Ure.. I'm pretty sure what option these so called Villa fans would go for.
They've also been slating Jack for not passing to the almighty Samatta all over social media. That alone makes them nobody in my eyes.
You've pointed out that football fans can be fickle: which is something any regular visitor to this forum (or any football forum) will know.
Not sure why raising our fame and reputation around the world is a problem. I wonder what the real issue could be

They aren't real Villa fans nor are the new Egyptian fans.
Couldn't care less about them. Once Trezeguet, Elmo and Samatta leaves they will be long gone. I will support the Villa till my death.
Think some of our own 'real fans' could learn a thing or two about support, judging by that video clip.
There's no question who I'd rather be standing next to in the holte

Would love to see an eye roll reaction emoji added to the options

Smith's found a war chest to go into the next few days.
Unfortunately it's full of Warhammer figures and glue.
I heard Benteke loves a game of Wawhammer,

Class act, and obviously up for the challenge here even with his glittering CV.
Already looks settled and a commanding presence for us which is quite remarkable
Well done to everyone at the club involved with bringing Pepe in

The club didn’t write them off. These players didn’t want to stay.
The fans did.
Quite quickly I seem to remember.
The new guys took the fall.
Seems we've not learned from that.
But what do you expect, we're Aston villa don't you know and we won the European cup, still fresh in the memory; hasn't even been 40 years yet.
It would be too embarrassing to admit that other clubs have stronger more settled squads than us this season

This is a six pointer, so I'll be happy with a draw and three points

Konsa and Maupay got beef?

I feel somewhat put at ease to hear that Scouting guru Josh Williams has said that 'For just £8.5m, Samatta has the quality to save Villa's season.'
-
Tosun has moved to palace on loan, Benteke is probably on his way somewhere this window
-
Oh look, more hilarious gags about Wes.
Well we won't see him again on the pitch this season, so maybe now's a good time to try and write some new material

Not convinced. Think we'll struggle to motivate him.
We will see.

I blame the Football Manager games; they're far too easy and lead everyone to think they're an expert (me included)
Clearly Smith just needs to set his pre-match tactical instructions to:
'retain possession'
'keep a clean sheet'
'score some goals'

So you were expecting to be relegated after a spend of £140 million? You should have contacted the board and told them to save their money as we obviously had no chance of survival......
Expecting; no.
Anticipating the possibility; yes.
And we haven't been relegated yet.
We could easily be bottom and well adrift given the rebuild required. As it stands we're still in the mix and have a chance of staying up if we can rediscover earlier form and capitalise by holding our nerve

Guess you could flip that and say that Smith improved our fortunes after Bruce.
No other comparisons.
Not sure what you mean mate
But I was just trying to make a point that a quick fix this season MIGHT (and it's a big might in my opinion given the unknowns in the squad), but likely we'll be in a relegation fight again next year
I'd prefer to see a period of stability where we're trying to implement a proper philosophy (something many have called out for), rather than cacking ourselves at the first sign of trouble. We may well go down, but if our owners are serious then it shouldn't be an issue.

Struggling to get results suggest there is some sort of fight, We've just been turned over by 2 of the worst side in the division, luckily beat Norwich. We are not competing which is the issue. Our manager is costing us points, replacing him could change that.
Agreed. It worked wonders when we employed Tim Sherwood, and the next season...
Oh hang on...

I don't know what everyone was expecting this season, but I suspect it was too much given our squad.
It's that time of year isn't it mate.
lots of disappointment caused by unrealistic expectations
Fortunately the schools start back soon.

So annoyed that our hesitation to sack Smith has led to us missing out on both Moyes and Pearson
At this rate all the best crap managers will be taken by our rivals
Fingers crossed Norwich don't nick Steve McLaren from us or we really are doomed
