I have just had a look at the ticket sales for tonight. We have B5 in the Trinity and Coventry have B3. As far as I can make out we have sold about 450 so far.
Coventry look to have nearly sold out B3 so currently will outnumber us.

I’m going to this later. Looking forward to it.
Going with my Cov supporting mate (say it quietly) so will be interesting to see both young teams.Question for people who regularly go to games like this, any suggestion for parking? I usually park near the Barton Arms but with a much much smaller crowd I won’t need to do that. So any suggestions for street parking closer to the ground that will be easily accessible for a game like this?
I am hoping to park in Trinity Road tonight Stevo. You can normally park very close depending on the size of the crowd. Certainly somewhere like Whitehead Rd will have plenty of parking places. Hope your mate has a disappointing evening (no offence)

The only time I have seen Dylan Mitchell play was away at Alvechurch in the Birmingham Senior Cup last season. He came on as sub and played very well. I think He scored as well.
He obviously made an impression on the Alvechurch coaching staff.
Our best player that night was Charlie Lutz who scored a Hattrick. Does anyone know what has happened to him ? Is He injured ?

We have drawn Sutton Town in the third round. I have been to all the Senior Cup games in the last three seasons and we have put in some decent performances. Best was the win at Nuneaton last year and we also played very well before losing on penalties at Alvechurch last season. Always a young Villa Team but the Pitch at Coles Lane will suit the Villa lads. I recommend a visit to Coles Lane to any Villa fans for this game.

I was there on Saturday and it was freezing. We were always on top in the game and our keeper, Sam Wheeler had not been tested until Atherstone had a Free Kick on the Halfway line and floated it into the area and after a bit of a scramble it fell to an Atherstone player to get a very undeserved equaliser.
The penalty shootout was epic. Kobie Moore, who had played very well up front, launched the first penalty over the bar. Looked a bit grim at that stage but The Adders missed their third spot kick to put us back level. We converted 9 Penalties in a row with all of our outfield players taking one. They missed their 10th and we go into the next round.
It was nice to see the return of Taylor Jay Hart after a long injury absence and He along with Adcock and Teddy Rowe were always in command of the midfield. Rico Richards gave us the lead half way through the first half and the Adders keeper made several good saves to keep mainly Moore from scoring.
Very bumpy pitch and I thought Josh Feeney was immense at the back. Atherstone had one tactic and that was to knock it long where they thought their size would count. Feeney headed away almost every corner or free kick or long throw they put in and on a difficult surface his control and distribution was terrific.

If anyone has a booking history at Walsall they can buy tickets in the Walsall section now. There are not many left in the main stand and it is very difficult to get two together.
The main stand usually is quite mixed with lots of Villa supporters in there. Two years ago we sat in the big stand behind the goal and that wasn't so pleasant but it was okay. Better to get in the main stand if you can.

Fred West or Jack the Ripper........not much difference is there?
Them 2 make little effect on a game, don't like traffic and their passes are iffy.....they get so easily relieved of the ball.....but this is not, Emery's team, he inherited, IMO.....some below grade players, whose form is up and down like a whore's draws....you need consistency for where we want to go.
With respect to you, you don't need a history in the game to tell, if players are up to scratch or not. Many discerning supporters with years under their belt watching football have a pretty good idea, who is up to it, and who isn't.....Thats all we focus on, so I don't accept football people are necessarily at an advantage.....There are good and not so good in both camps.
I accept, many aspects of the behind the scenes, work is beyond most fans.....but watching the game can some times be an undistracted filter, to other influences.....What I mean by that is, being close to players day to day, can be an unhelpful sway in appraising them, because bias, can play a part.
As a fan, I don't know them, so I am only influenced, but how they play in a match, not even training.
You are one of my favourite posters. I go to games with lads who played and non of them rate Bailey.
I had a bit of a row last week at the Fulham game when I said Traori was a crap player with moments of brilliance. I actually am a fan of Bertie but He isn't good enough.
My favourite player is Biendia but I would have him replaced if we could find someone better. Bailey really is hopeless unless he gets the ball on his left foot cutting in from the right., then He might score.
Every coach in the World in their team talk (even non league) would say to their Full Back show him on to his right foot..

Sorry I am 69 years old so I am not good at replying (Hope this works)
I played for Villa as an apprentice and I have worked as a Manager, Coach and Scout. So, I am not claiming to be an expert but I do have a history in the game.
Callaghan was very good at Watford. Bernie Gallagher came through our youth system and was a pretty good youth prospect who did okay but wasn't quite good enough, although He didn't cost £30 million.
Steve Hodge played for England. At half time people were saying take Bert off. I agree He isn't good enough but replacing him with Bailey. ?????

I've followed Villa for 60 years and Bailey is the worst player I have ever seen play for us.

- Title: Threads from the dead
Thirteen players out of contract in the summer
Charlie Lutz, Kobei Moore, Mikell Barnes, Todd Alcock, Luke Softley, Aaron O’Reilly, Sil Swinkels, Arjan Raikhy, Hayden Lindley, Brad Young, Seb Revan, Declan Frith and Chisom Afoka
Apparently going to find out this week if they're going to be offered new deals or not.
I know we have to be quite ruthless as we need the space for younger players to come through. This is my guess based on Birmingham Senior Cup performances mainly.
Charlie Lutz - Played very well at Alvechurch with a Hattrick - Definitely Keep.
Kobei Moore, Mikell Barnes - release.
Todd Alcock - Plays regularly but I don't think is quite good enough for us. - Offer a One Year contract.
Luke Softley - One year contract offer.
Aaron O'Reilly - Much improved in the last few Months. New contract offer 1 or 2 year.
Sil Swinkels - Good player but not good enough for us. Probably release.
Raiky, Lindley, Brad Young - All good players but lower division players - Release.
Revan - Another Year, Close to first Team, Needs to have a great season to get in the First Team Squad.
Declan Firth - Same as Seb Revan, Had a good season but needs to really push on.
Chisom Ofoka. Good player but not good enough. Reluctantly release.
Always hard to judge and probably none of these players will ever become Villa regulars.

Sorry Nick. I thought I had added a comment about an over the top tackle to your original post.
It's probably not showing.

Now that is what they mean by an over the ball tackle !!!!

I thought He was terrific today and has turned into a really important player for us. I have to admit that for most of his time with us I thought He was distinctly average, apart from that spell after lockdown.
I have changed my mind about him this season and now see him as a top premier League midfielder and one that could drive us into a European place next year.

I have just got back from Tividale. It was a very difficult night for a slightly under strength Villa Team.
Tividale are 16th in the MFL Premier so nowhere near as strong as the Nuneaton Team we beat in the last round. The pitch was hard and not very flat and it was a windy night. Tividale were extremely physical and very direct. They took a well deserved lead when Malcolm Melvin (ex Villa Man) scored from a Free Kick.
The Villa players played very little good football but competed physically with Tivi and clawed their way back when Afoka scored with 15 minutes left. I was actually proud of the way the Villa youngsters ground out a win. We won the penalty shoot out 4-2 with Frith, Afoka, Lutz and Munroe netting.

I think Lamare Bogarde has gone on loan to Bristol Rovers as well.

Luckily you can usually sit on your own. I have developed a skill of celebrating goals without showing it.
I tend to go on my own to the Sty. To be honest my mate, who I go to Villa with, won't go there.

It surely isn't that difficult to understand. I go to a game every Saturday. If Villa are at home I go there. Otherwise I pick a game and go there.
Mainly Non League games and this year I have been to about 10 different clubs.

I went to the Sty today. I usually watch them a few times every season as I like to go to a match every week. If Villa aren't at home I tend to go to either a Non League game or Blues, Albion or Walsall.
John Eustace has done very well with a pretty useless group of players. Every week they are dominated by whoever they are playing. They can't seem to ever string three passes together so have little possession in any game. They generally have one attacking threat and that is that they like to take long throws of launch Free kicks or corners towards several six footers who try to win headers.
The great myth is that they have a a hostile atmosphere every week at home, being salt of the earth proper Brummies. The reality is that there is no atmosphere unless they are playing Villa. We think it is a difficult ground to play at but when they play the likes of Hull (I went to that game too) it is like a library with no support. Villa Park is so much louder with a far more partisan crowd every single week. I had a choice of West Brom or Birmingham today. I made the right decision.

I don't want to go over the top with my praise for him but He is quite good isn't He ?

Tommi does live in Kingsbury. The family are big Villa fans originally from Erdington. The Revans are also from Erdington.
Erdington and Saltley was always the best District Team in Birmingham.

If Erdz is Erdington, then Kaden Young is not from Erdington. He is from Oldbury or Wednesbury way. Tommi O'Reilly is from Erdington though.
Both of those are fantastic prospects but I think that Josh Feeney is the most likely to succeed of all our Academy players.

Very exciting Villa Team tonight, looking forward to seeing them in action.
I hope we have a good crowd for the Birmingham Senior Cup Final on May 15th. I am taking my kids and grandkids and several of their friends to this one. Always trying to convert local kids (and their Dads) to support their local Teams.
