2-1 to Spurs but Harry still to be twitching after the game and Villa still to have finished above Spurs in over 70% of the premier league seasons (8 top six vs 2 top six as well!)

Spurs have only finished in the top six two times in the entire premier league era as well! I guess that's what happens when you've conceded more premiership goals than any other club!!!

My concern is this match is like a cup final to Spurs while we have ours at the end of the month!

We tend to raise our game against the big clubs which is why I'm worried going to Spurs. They're only London's 4th top club based on the last complete season so hopefully motivation won't be a problem.

Regardless of the result we'll still have won more top flight league titles than Huddersfield Town

The cheaper tickets worked a treat today with about 40k fans in attendance (biggest home attendance this weekend I think in the cup)

That sensible approach from the club meant many fans who wouldn't have been able to afford it could see the team again.

So well done Villa

Whatever happens this season we will at least have spent two thirds of all the premiership seasons above the 2 league title tots!

Just read a quote from O'Neill blaming tiredness towards the end!!!

Just seen the ticket prices for the Brighton game - very sensible and we'll get a better gate than the Blackburn FA Cup one.

I want our best keeper playing to give us the best chance of going through. As of now that is Friedel (penalty heroics aside!)

I agree with the posters above. I think including the Liverpool and Blackburn FA Cup matches we will end up playing 8 games in the space of 30 days inclusive of 6 at home.

Setting the pricing for these games at affordable levels will be the key to filling the stadium (considering the number of games and that most people are skint after Xmas!) ensuring that the team gets the best support.

Anyone know roughly how many fans Blackburn took to Villa? Was it another mini bus job?!

I have to echo the thoughts of the above poster.

We've made some great improvments but the catering side (non corporate) still has some serious work to be done.

Lack of stock, lack of staff and probably not the most effective payment systems.

Huge game and one if we lose could have a massive impact on morale.

The key for me is two things:

a) Nullify Gerrard by playing 3 in central midfield like we did at Anfield

Expose the loss of Mascherano by running at their central defence.

Can only see Liverpool winning but I would love to be wrong!

Just got back from the Emirates!

Thought we battled well to start with but the first goal was the turning point.

Fair play to Arsenal they deserved the points today and I think a 4-5-1 (like last season when we won) might have given us a bit more control of the game.

Onwards and upwards hopefully and 75% of the top four is still something to smile about!

Or Spurs get in the top two of one of the main 2 competitions. After all they haven't managed that for over 45 years!!!

Good result and very pleased to see the clean sheet.

With Downing in midfield it feels like we have a real attacking threat which is great to see.

Well done for O'Neill for rewarding the vast majority of those who impressed away at Pompey.
