  1. So just to confirm in the biggest 2 competitions:

    League:

Aston Villa 7 winners and 10 runners ups

Tottenham 2 winners and 4 runners ups

Aston Villa about 1300 more points overall on a consistent points methodology.

Aston Villa more top 1, top 2, top 3, top 4, top 5 and top 6 than the tiny tots!

Aston Villa 12 years out of the top flight, Tottenham 47 years!

Aston Villa 79 years out of 121 as the higher ranked league team of the two (including 13 of the last 18 seasons!)

    European Cup:

    Aston Villa - winners

Tottenham - never made a final!

So well done tots in the peripheral competitions but in the big 2 overall we've blitzed you!

We should mention Spurs 15 out the last 18 seasons out of the top 7 positions!

Scrub all that Tottenham are massive, triffic and huge and it doesn't matter that they don't make a footnote of winners of the biggest domestic or european competition! :D

  2. Tottenham Hotspur 2 top flight league titles, no European Cup and almost half a century spent as a non top flight team! Absolutely blitzed in the main 2 competitions overall!

Let's all hear it for the super tots with less top 1, top 2, top 3, top 4, top 5 and top 6 finishes!(although they do play more long passes than any other team!)

If only we could finish in the top seven three times in the next 18 years like Spurs we'd be huge!!!

  3. Be honest Glaston, you must have slagged off Redknapp when he was West Ham manager?

No ... why would I? I don't usually have any great desire to slag off any manager.

It's not as if W.Ham are really any great rival to Spurs, and in any case, Redknapp generally did well for them and boosted his reputation as a good manager.

He helped to stabilise them and establish them in the Prem, and also helped bring through a number of young players from the club's academy, including Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Carrick and Lampard.

He also took them to 5th place, which is a remarkable achievement for a club like W.Ham

There was me thinking West Ham gained more league points than Spurs in the last 2 complete league seasons :)

Very nice to hear you waffling on but you've still won 2 league titles (less than Huddersfield Town) and no European cup! We've blitzed you overall in the big 2. Well done on spending more years as a non top flight team than finishing above us as well. Really impressive stuff!

  4. My concern is this match is like a cup final to Spurs while we have ours at the end of the month!

We tend to raise our game against the big clubs which is why I'm worried going to Spurs. They're only London's 4th top club based on the last complete season so hopefully motivation won't be a problem.

Regardless of the result we'll still have won more top flight league titles than Huddersfield Town :)

  5. Hi General

I was thinking about buying a half season ticket but it says they are not on sale? Please can you advise why I can't buy one?

    Cheers!

General, just in case you missed this question I'm posting it again. i'm really keen to get a half season ticket - can you confirm whether I can still get one and if not why not? (I know I've missed one of the home matches but that is fine)

    Cheers :)

  6. I agree with the posters above. I think including the Liverpool and Blackburn FA Cup matches we will end up playing 8 games in the space of 30 days inclusive of 6 at home.

Setting the pricing for these games at affordable levels will be the key to filling the stadium (considering the number of games and that most people are skint after Xmas!) ensuring that the team gets the best support.

Thanks to the club for listening.
