A former professional hockey player Dimitri Kristich has joined the fight against Russia. Not seen any football players joining.

Not a football player, but a manager has left his cushy job to go back to Ukraine to fight for his country.

56 yo Yuriy Vernydub, manager of Sheriff Tiraspol.

Sorry, but this is a massive over reaction.

OK, we weren't great, but did you have to give everyone negative scores?

As a cat (and dog) owning ex hunt sab (and excuse the pun) he’s going to get dogs abuse from me for 90 minutes.
I also very much dislike Wet Spam👍

    I could understand this.

To clarify my position, I absolutely despised what he did, but I wasn't sure if people had moved on from it.

I guess my post was to cop a feel for what would people do when the opportunity presents itself. If people want to rattle him, that's cool. If people have moved on, that's fine too.

Quite likely. There’s other options for that though. I’d have gone for Mr Batman.

    :)

    There is enough versions.

Should have called it Another Batman.

The inevitable sequel could then be called Yet Another Batman.

It’s something I’ve been trying to say for a while. I’ve lived through much of the Cold War and overstatement of Soviets capability was fairly constant. That was before they lost all their productive western countries like Ukraine. Some posters called me comical Ali for not buying into the whole amazing Russia narrative.

So far all the fear mongering about Russias amazing planes, soldiers and tanks have been vastly overrated. What hasn’t been overrated is Russias ability to break international rules of war though.

Russian fighters don’t have the capability for target support without hitting their own troops at high altitudes, when they go low European and American anti air take them out. They’re stuck between a rock and hard place. Furthermore they lost much of their professional spetznas capability on the first day (including their general).

The Russian army has been ruined by corruption and cleptocracy, and thank god for that.

Mate, I have to say, I am really appreciating your posts.

Yourself, among many other posters, have made this thread a one stop shop of concentrated information, that filters out the bullshit and insanity found in news feeds.

This is a horrible situation, and I am holding out in hope for a best case scenario in which Russia withdraws its forces and that the Ukrainians get to keep their country. Not only do you seem well informed, but your posts offer a glimmer of that hope. I really appreciate that.

I am probably being a bit too idealistic here, but I am hoping that Ukraine remains to be a place that can be found on the map by everyone. ( Except Americans. They will probably be looking for it somewhere in Africa) Preferably with all its borders intact.

Up the Ukraine, and f*** that poison dwarf Putin.

Well one thing about the ethinicity chat is that Stalin did a whole lot of **** on that score. He ethnically cleansed Crimea in 1946, and other places before and after. The idea that Crimea is "Russian" ignores the fact that the indigenous people all got taken to Siberia and put in camps or were made to make the road of bones and other such fun stuff.

Same with loads of these places that get touted as having x% russian speaking populations. It's happened inside the last 80 years and it was done by force.

    Also, Holodomor was unforgiveable.

Moyes and the club have made a huge blunder underestimating the seriousness of this. To pick him last night was bonkers and with a couple of sponsors pulling out already the rest will follow.

I’ve just been to Think Tank at Millennium point with my son and the Man Utd team bus was outside the hotel there (the Clayton is it?) saw a couple of non-playing staff, thought about hanging around and heckling the players … but they probably would’ve got awarded penalty for that

For services provided to cross country thespianism, you should have presented them with an Emi.
