What a half. We’ve been excellent. Some defensive lapses but sure we’ll iron those out.

Our possession and shape is fantastic - so well drilled and smooth. The interchange and slickness of passing is a joy to behold. Loving it - ‘even though it’s pre season’ these games aren’t played as such!

Awesome going fwd, but our defensive shape has not worked at all

But they can't afford his full wages. This is the problem when we buy someone from these leagues and it doesn't work out. He would have had a massive salary jump that he can't just say goodbye to straight awa.

    yep agreed

we have to go all in and offer stupid wages to get players we want, and if it doesn't work out there is nothing you can do. Hopefully we will get better at this thing they call transfers.

we are not the only ones though

The problem though is there has to be a buyer for him to be sold and I’m guessing both the player and Villa prefer that.  It seems that’s not the case that a club is willing to buy him even for a small fee so loan is the next best option.

But that makes zero sense, I can understand it with Traore who didn't really do much of note in a lets face it not very good Turkish league.

But Sanson by all accounts did very well at Strasborg in the French league 1 - and Nice are no slouches yet.... another loan where you know we won't even see his full wages covered

  5. on loan to Nice????

another fupping pointless loan to wind down his contract and value further, unless there is a commitment to buy at the end....

True but can understand the focus on it given the underwhelming numbers the likes of Bailey and Buendia have posted the last couple of seasons

it's been said many times before, but Grealish's numbers were pretty underwhelming if you judged him purely on goals and assists.

As frustrating and inconsistent as Buendia is, he put in a fair number of through balls that the players on the end of them didn't convert - but no one would praise him for that would they?

cue Delphino's 'Buendia keyword search mention alarm' hate incoming

I think there is no harder a position to impress in, than wide forwards, there are so few in the world that are consistent and get the stats people expect of them. Also 'rapid' seems to lead to a lot of injuries.

Diaby looks the real deal, but any player from outside of this league will find the physicality and speed in which they get closed down/fouled difficult to deal with.

             Played       Goals      Assists

    Diaby     125          31          38

    Bailey    119          28          21

fear not, i give it a month before he's been trashed weekly for not being good enough

    Villa get Diaby

    FC Sandstorm get Mane

Bayern get additional funds to go get Harold Kane. Good news all around

can we sell them Morgan Sandstorm?

Watch us pay through the nose and he's shit in the PL. Give it a few months people will be crying for Bailey back in the team when Diaby get's squashed by.... probably Ben Mee.

I give it week after signing before Delphino has brandished him the worst thing ever to appear in a Villa shirt since Buendia

you are right.. but the worry here is that he is being told he'll be loaned to NUFC

If the Premier League let that happen it would absolutely be the beginning of the end.

  11. If young players start to go after the big money with no care about credibility/their actual footballing career it will mark a disturbing step change

It didn't work in China, Russia or USA, be shocked if oil money slowly takes over the entire of football
