  1. I do detect some jealousy dripping through some of these comments.

My view is that we’re very lucky to have such a choice of really quite excellent content made by fans for fans. There really is something for everyone and for every mood.

I do think Dan Bardell deserves a special mention though. He has supported so many of the other Pods through their journey and is generally just such a nice bloke. Also, if you read between the lines, he knows a lot about what’s going on at the club. Exhibit A - He very subtly trailed Purslow’s departure months before it was confirmed.

  2. We need two wins and a draw from the next three games.

That will leave us with needing five wins from the remaining 10 games which should be doable without having to win the harder games.

That will then also allow us to go slightly harder at the conference as our only chance of silverware if we get more secure about finishing fourth.

  3. It’s a must win, simple as that.

Same team as Fulham and hopefully we get the first goal.  If they try to low block us to death again hopefully we will have enough creativity and patience on the field.

  4. If I was the owners I’d be trying to force the councils hand with a play to completely rebuild the stadium and regenerate the whole area but only if they CPO the crap out of the local area. Opportunity to bring the council in as partners to give them a much needed windfall.

Either that or you buy council land somewhere in the city for cheap knowing they are desperate for the money and build the new stadium there.

  5. He’s not suitable at all for DM but why would we want to play him there anyway. He’s a potential match winner playing further up midfield with his ability to find the right pass into the final third.

  6. You would think he would have opportunities in the Europa to impress and make a meaningful contribution but he has Diaby and Rogers ahead of him in the queue for minutes so is fast running out of time to earn a transfer.

  7. We will rotate as much as we can for the first leg to save everything for spurs. Then have to play a strong team in the second leg to get the win.

But then we play West Ham away so something will have to give unless konsa and Carlos are back by then.

  8. Those stats were achieved with konsa and Kamara in the team and doesn’t take into account he harder fixture list we have for the rest of the season nor the extra Europa games.

For us it’s all about whether we can get the 7 wins we need and not lose to Spurs. However our PPG is very likely to fall in the next 13 games which gives spurs or Utd a chance if they start to put a run together.

  9. It wouldn’t take anything drastic at all. One month long injury or 3 game suspension to Martinez, Pau, mcginn, Luiz or Watkins and we’d be in real trouble.

As for Man Utd, momentum is everything and they have it with them at the moment. Luton (A), Fulham (H) Man city (A) Everton (H) sheff utd (H) . They could easily win 4 out of those 5 and if they did would probably be within 4 points of us with 8/9 games to go.

Even with our bad run though, we'd still finish 5th assuming we played like this for the rest of the season. We'd have to be considerably worse to mess this up.

Man Utd have an easier run in on paper than us. We could carry on at 1.5/1.75  points per game and they could still easily catch us. All it takes now is one more injury or red card to a key player and we are stuffed. Realistically, It’s basically a 3 team mini league for two (hopefully) champions league spots for the remaining third of the season and we have a slight head start that is countered by our relatively appalling injuries and the congestion and difficulty of our  fixture list.

  11. We need 7 more wins from the remaining 13 games to more or less guarantee champions league football. There’s no longer much room for error when you consider the difficulty of the fixtures ahead, the thin squad and the extra Europa games.

    Target Wins

    Forrest (H), Luton (A), Spurs (H), wolves (H), brentford (H), Bournemouth (H), Chelsea (H)

    Harder fixtures

    West Ham (A), Man City (A), Brighton (A), Arsenal (A), Palace (A), Liverpool (H)

Just bumping this up. When do you think he will get sacked? I’ll go for summer 2025. God knows how much damage he will have done to the clubs relationship with the fans by then.

Earlier than I thought but my earlier comment in the thread did say that he would limp on until the summer of this season. I had obviously heard the noise about heck at this point.

I don't see the relevance of that.  In fact it could almost work the other way.  If people are used to working with crap execs then you get used to working in a particular way.  If someone comes in and changes that then it will almost certainly make you (and others) uncomfortable, possibly feeling victimised because you are being asked to work in a different way to before.  It is entirely possible that a really good exec who instigates really positive changes will cause a lot of friction and upset people at the start.

People are fine with hard messages. That’s standard when competent execs come in because they know it’s all about managing the change. People are not fine with incompetent aggressive arseholes that lie and that do not convey any positive characteristic trait of leadership.

  14. Ok for all the doubters let me ask you this question in another way…

Considering we’ve had so many crap owners and so many crap execs in the last 50 years have you ever, ever seen this amount of “noise” about the behavior and integrity (not competence) of any one of them?

I am aware of No information on this at all.

I don't read between lines.....I like to make my judgement on firm evidence.

    I stress....I am impartial.

    I understand your emotive stance.

I’m not emotive. I have information that you don’t. I understand your non-informed stance.

I am sceptical of what some folk, say, when liasing with the club.

Some want VIP treatment, and when they don't get it, are miffed.

I am not saying that is the case with Dan, but it could be.

We have all heard players being castigated for not signing autographs, but we don't know, the things that might be on their mind.....we are too quick to jump to conclusions, is all.

Let me repeat. Are you aware of any inside information that all of these allegations against heck are incorrect? If not, I suggest you read between the lines when people are trying to shine a light on what’s been going on and let things unfold.

I could literally make a Twitter account now called VillaBeaconofTruth and corroborate and share all these allegations as well.

Things are more " true " and beyond reasonable doubt when people want it to be.

In reverse, if this was a well liked figure at the club ( and the allegations were true ) you'd see a different level of skepticism and calls for people to wait for facts etc

Ty Bracy claiming truth to these things is a problem though. However, if TyBracey is communicating with the sources of the info... The source isn't exactly going to be unbiased either

Ive been hearing these whispers about heck since September. Have you heard anything from a trusted source to suggest that all of this is bullshit? If not, I’d suggest you wait for things to play out.

A lot of assumptions are being made on alleged accusations from an anonymous person.

There’s two sides to this story and I find it amazing that if the allegations were true and the damage it would make to the Villa brand that the owners would have not already stepped in.

We’re being asked to believe that the owners have made there first poor decision in recruitment,  did no due diligence with a man with a well credentialed reputation and CV, weighted against an anonymous persons allegations  and which the local media haven’t picked any of it up?

This is a professional sport organisation being dragged into the 21st century not the local council job where you can skate by for 40 years.

Organisations have to evolve unfortunately some people can’t evolve with the organisation and would rather throw stones than accept their own limitations.

Mate. Just because you are unaware of what’s been going on, don’t assume others are not aware of what he’s been doing.
