We won't be getting Rodgers, his set to take a role as TV pundit At Bein sports.
Moyes is the only one now.
-
Just makes me laugh tbh. Sherwoods got his handbag out clearly. Maybe he should focus on readying our team for chealsea rather than being petty with media.
-
Hoping the club is tapping someone up.
in which case Sherwoods a dead man walking and it's a matter of time.
-
Reckon that Rodgers will want a break. We aren't attractive enough challenge for Him either probably.
Moyes on the other hand might be interested in returning to the PL. even for us.
I'd take either.
I know we probably aren't the most attractive job in the world at the moment, but what do think Rodgers would be holding out for? He isn't going to get a top 6 job anytime soon and below that everything is much of a muchness.
You may be correct in that he might want a break, but if he wants to return to PL management I really don't think he is going to get many better offers in the short to medium term.
I Think he will go abroad or end up at a club like Southampton. He has money and time to kill now. Who knows? Sherwood might not even be in any pressure. Could be paper talk.

Sherwoods looking like he'll get sacked according to the bookies. Wondering who is most likely to be replace him.

This Rodgers talk is where I get off I'm afraid . . . If he's the best choice then I hope Sherwood stays.
I say that not because of anything personal, I've joined in the 'Brenton' mickey-taking but I'm sure he's alright really, that's not my issue. My issue is that I can't see how he can turn this club around. I mean, look, we're always laughing on here at 'Tactics Tim', can't set out a team, doesn't know his best XI, etc etc. Yet now I'm supposed to suddenly be on board with a guy who has spent the last 18 months pretending Emre Can is a right-sided centre back? A blind man could have told Sakho is twice the player Lovren is, it took an injury to Lovren before Sakho appeared this season. Look, I've said it before, but if he couldn't organise a defence with Lovren, Moreno, Clyne and Skrtel, how the **** do we expect him to organise Amavi, Lescott, Richards and Bacuna?
I just don't see it, sorry. I genuinely don't think he'll be any improvement at all.
I think he would improve us slightly and would certainly take him over Sherwood but I agree with the rest of your post.
We won't get Moyes or an Exotic foreign coach.
We'll end up with Rodgers, Dyche or Pearson IMO. I wish I could joke, we all know they are most likely.Lerner hasn't had best of luck with managers.
-
Was Fergie tactically clueless to start with? Plus did he blame the board for transfers around the time he was under pressure?
Different time and different club.

Why would Rodgers come to Villa? The same transfer comittee system shafted him at Liverpool and i doubt he would be keen to jump into a similar setup.
His mates with paddy Riley though and has worked with him before.
-
What are the odds on Sherwoods sacking? Be interesting to see if Moyes or Rodgers have better odds as next villa manager.
-
Shows his desperation really. N' ***** Zogbia.
I suppose the club are giving him a chance to run our season around. Like someone said earlier we should want to seem as a fair club to work for.
Reckon we are just going through the motions however.
-
His not lerners pal like Lambert.
He won't be given as much time I suspect.
-
I'm not sure the players will be too impressed with his recentl comments post match from Stoke and media reports.
We will see against Chelsea how the players play but I think someone like Moyes would be perfect for us in someways, just worry about his soft demeanour.
-
Looks pretty likely then. Draws won't be enough.
Moyes anyone? Or Rodgers ?

Think Moyes would be the best candidate. He helped Everton become a top half team and they were in bad shape when he initially took over and had relegation battle I believe.
A a good manager, plus Lerner likes him. Can't ever see it but he's my choice at the moment.
-
Wouldn't mind Rodgers but I reckon he'd struggle with Villa aswell.
Maybe Moyes is available or dare I say... Gary Rowlett
-
As much as I would not be against Sherwood being given more time perhaps our board need to react as Liverpool has it seems. Klopp was available and clearly that wasn't going to remain the case for too much longer so they decided to get shot of Rodgers early in the season and take advantage of the fact that they could get Klopp.
We are now in a situation where we have had a diabolical start to the season and things may or may not get better but there are currently two managers out of work in Allardyce and Rodgers who for me at least look a much safer bet to secure our top flight status.
I don’t think for a second Sherwood gets sacked pre Swansea at the very earliest but I hope if things don’t improve and we do sack him that we aren't left ruing having missed out on ideal replacements had we have acted sooner.
^ This. We missed out on managers last year because we left it so late.
Hope we pull our finger out if its clear we Haven't improved after the break.
-
Love how we all suggest managers. But with Sherwood here still I can't see the club even considering a plan B.
Must be one of the worst run clubs in the PL.
-
We have to wait 2 weeks just to get beat. Sad times.
-
Odds on favorite for the Sunderland job, some reports suggesting he's going there until the end of the season. I just hope we don't end up with Nigel Pearson.
*shudder*
Maybe Moyes or a foreign coach?

Big Sam is holding out for us I reckon.
-
Why can't we just hire a decent proven PL manager for once.
Probably because they don't want to work under our chump owner?
I know what you mean, but he is a Hands off owner, chances are the manager would work with Tom Fox way more. I suspect they only speak to Lerner to discuss transfers etc. Plus a job is a job, and if they could get us to mid table suddenly things look abit rosier.

Don't you have a Twitter account mate? Swear I have you on Twitter and seen you tweet a similar rhetoric.
I do, yes - '@issassin'
With a pic of a very happy N'zogbia (as always)

Well if we are set to sack Sherwood in two games, I doubt Rodgers would become a pundit and leave to takeover at Villa.
