If I lived that close to VP and knew what the plans were, I would wait for the neighbours to sell and hold out to the last to extract maximum money. I can't see it happening for that reason. It's so unpredictable and could take decades.
Yeah, true. I just don't really like the idea of a CPO for a football club stadium expansion -makes me a bit uncomfortable.
-
Probably a very bad idea for some reason, but what about just knocking on every door and offering a bunch of money rather than attempting to get a CPO?
I mean, I live in a nice enough house in a much better area than Aston and I'd happily take an offer 20% or so over book value if Villa came calling.

I was confused about the second yellow too, as I didn’t know the rule about them resetting after the 90/120mins. So essentially he was booked, then that game was over, then during the penalties he was booked again. Although I don’t agree with why he was booked, I understand it.
What I don’t get is why some seem to think he will miss the SF first leg? Is that because of the total yellows accrued to this point, because I thought they reset after the QFs? Or is it because two yellows in one game, usually equals a red, and therefore he misses a game…? Because that can’t be the case either, because the first yellow was done, then expired. Then the second yellow was done, but they don’t equal a red, so why would he miss a game?
there’s probably something obvious I’m missing but I don’t get why Emi would miss a game?
Just because the yellows go back to zero next game doesn't necessarily mean a suspension is also cancelled surely? You've already earned a suspension by picking up that many yellows before they reset to zero yellows, so why wouldn't you have to serve your suspension?
If you have 11 points on your driving license that expire on New Year's Day and you get done for speeding on Christmas Day and you get a ban, they don't go "oh but these points expire in a few days so therefore you aren't banned"
Admittedly individual competition rules may state otherwise but I haven't seen anything conclusive about this.
Couple with this there is uncertainty about whether the ref revoked the yellow, and also some uncertainty about whether the penalty shootout yellow counts as a "quarter final" yellow because technically I think it can be argued the game had ended. Whether the penalty shootout existed in a no-man's-land between the quarters and semis I have no idea.

Might be one is the Greek spelling, like we say 'Brazil' but in Portuguese it's 'Brasil'
Probably something like that. Interesting that the BBC and Guardian use different spellings though.

How is he banned for the semi 1st leg? I thought all yellows are wiped after the quarters
They are wiped, but if you've picked up enough before the wipe then you're suspended.

Just noticed that lots of people here, including me, and also even the BBC have spelt it Olympiakos with a "k" when actually it appears it should be Olympiacos with a "c"
Huh
-
That penalty that was saved, hit the bar and somehow didn't go in was astonishing.
Anyway, well done Olympiakos!

Voted Martinez MOTM but to be honest I think Cash is worthy of a shout for weirdly being our only attacking outlet for 80% of the game and scoring an actual goal.

I enjoyed McManaman telling us that when Ederson steps up you know he’s going to score
Do you Steve? He’s a keeper
Bit like when he said you could tell it was a good header by Haaland because it bounced. I mean, actually, it was a tame header that went straight into the keeper's hands. But, yeah, it bounced, so it must have been a brilliant header.

Doku set up the equaliser
It was a mistake by the defender though, not a great ball in by Doku. Grealish was doing exactly the same the entire time he was on.

Excellent challenge by Mendy for Madrid. Gets booked.
-
Hang on, the commentator just said Pep wasn't happy with 3 minutes injury time so they increased it to 4 minutes???!? Surely that can't be right?

Yep, more end product than Grealish managed in 70 minutes
I mean, he hasn't done anything different to Grealish at all, the Madrid defender just made an error and gave the ball to De Bruyne for the goal.

Is Jack trying to get himself sent off for dissent or what?
I thought that. Why is he getting in the ref's face every single time when he's already on a yellow?
-
City need to learn how to deal with balls over the top like Villa do. We'd be handling that tactic far better than City are here I reckon.
-
It's going to be one of those games for city isn't it? Nothing going right.
-
Oh dear city

What's with the black flags they are waving at City?

Didn't he run at full speed across the penalty area with the card held as high and prominently as possible? That was my recollection... Could be wrong though.
