  1. I understand the pain felt by everyone.

In my opinion all kits at every club are poor value and have been for a very longtime. You can keep buying it every year and club will keep taking your money.

Until they produce better value for money then I won’t buy.

Really not surprised by this at all.

Udoh is a good player!! I put his name as a free agent suggestion through to two lower league clubs in May one being Port Vale... before he signed for Shrewsbury. Neither club was interested.

He Was at Crewe few years back think they got him from Ilkeston Town but was released by Crewe  in May 2018.

He came through the Luton and then Stevenage youth setup

Halesowen had this guy on loan in 2017.He was head a shoulders above that level not surprised he is at Shrewsbury now.

I have a question...I could see he was a good player but I would have never have said he could be a possibility for League club ,simply because of the players he was playing against. How can you make a call on him unless you see how he performs against better players?

What things are you looking for that convinces you he can do it at a higher level?

Good. Their fans have become intolerable in the last few years

    This is a fact.

Another club that is similar are Wolves. The sooner they realise that success is not defined by finishing above the Villa is the moment they will become free to actually have real success.

His injury record is the thing that concerns me for the money we're paying.

Yes it would be just like Villa to sign a player for £20M and then he gets a re occurrence of an old injury shortly after...

Unless of course this is the new Villa and while we had him on loan we found out all their is to know about those injuries and are confident he will be fine?

  5. I like this version of Wolves. They are a good team that play good football.

Dont be too hard on the fans either, they have NO IDEA what sustained success is.For them 2 seasons above the Villa is massive.

Us being back has taken some of the limelight away. Now they have to actually beat us instead of just playing the Premier League card and calling us historians.

  6. Sometimes you just attend a match and see a player on the opposition that stands out.

Its obvious to even the layman sometimes that this player will step up.Jack Grealish for example...other players are just “good for the Championship” Aiden Flint could be a good example here.

The hard part for clubs/scouts is figuring which is which but I would suggest that they have some set of criteria to measure agains to help them make the decision.

It would be interesting to know if anyone has an insight on what attributes a club look for in players that they consider good enough to step up?

  7. I would say a big club appeals to a lot of people.

So for me if your fan base exceeds the city boundaries then you can consider yourselves  a reasonable sized club.

Of it’s relative because Utd have millions of fans all round the world whereas Newcastle or us for that matter have considerably less fans country/worldwide.

This is why the Blues cannot consider themselves in any discussions like this....I mean you hardly meet a Blues fan that lives outside Birmingham do you...in fact they are proud about it 😂

  8. The problem with Newcastle is the Myth that it is a big club.

Yes they have 50000 passionate fans which is incredible in a town of approx 300000 but elsewhere???

Geordies are mad. They haven’t won a trophy for 50 years yet each season they get upset because they aren’t challenging!

I think Ashley has looked after the club quite well tbf.

  9. We have lots of fans.

1.Concourses in most areas of the ground are to small for them.

2.lots of fans want lots of food/drink.Most areas of the ground do not have enough food counters.

3.Bring the price of this mediocre food/drink down so it is more in line with the quality(I always feel ripped off no mater what I buy!!)

  10. Wolves have done very well over the last few years.Good ownership combined with a good manager puts them in a very good position.

Villa appear to have the same combination now.

Lets see how far it can take us 🙂

Brilliant! The Midlands comedy club never fails. It's almost as if Jota is a way better player than Gardner and Monk is annoyed! Who knew!

Bluenoses will tell you that the move was carefully thought out by the great footballing minds at the club.

    ”Jota isn’t all that good”

”he didn’t do much for us”

    “You will find out”

    😂

Building a new stadium is not cheap these days, especially in the London area, the cost of purchasing just the land alone is so much more than in the midlands and other regions.

I don't think we are getting mugged off, we have made over £80 million in the last 3-4 years on players for an outlay of £8-£9 million, Think Hogan, who was mugged off there?

And No, we don't want him back in P/EX 🤣

I think by mugged off he means that as fans you have accepted the buy to sell line rather easily.

Of course you do because “it’s for the good of the club” but making the amount of profit you mention is very impressive are you sure it all goes back into the club?

indeed - its the mother of all rebuilds.

I remember in around 1979 when the great Ron Saunders undertook a big rebuilding job - I think one game we had six players making there home debuts  !- no transfer windows in them days though

Big Ron did something similar in 91/92.

He built a great team with only a few poor signings (Paul Mortimer for one),although with some of the names he got in they were almost certain to succeed to be fair.

  14. Have say I would like them to get it right. They have a long suffering fan base (3 of which I had a chat with at a pub in Westminster before Monday’s game - they were down in the dumps!)

They suffer like I can imagine us suffering I always count Villas blessings when I see Sunderlands struggles.

    Yep.

It of course arrived following our first away win in over a year, played over the tannoy and the Villa supporters joining in.

If people don’t like it, fair enough. But the song summed up where we were as a club, people know the words and crucially it happened naturally and spontaneously. The way football throws up these moments every now and then.

If anyone wants to suggest a more suitable song that everyone knows the words to and doesn’t have the feel of being chosen by committee, then good luck.

The truth is Villa adopting this song is more real than most people imagine. It is not contrived, it wasn’t thought up or given to us by anyone.....

In that moment after the win a Reading we took it and made it our own.

I look forward to singing it at the Champions League final one day 😉

  16. I have to say the fact we got relegated got me off my backside and back down to Villa Park as a season ticket holder.

The situation as I saw it was I need to be there when we get back...what kind of fan was I if I didn’t fully back us week in week out.I felt Villa needed the support.

What a ride it was ,ending  in one of my best days out watching Villa on Monday.

To the Championship,I thank you for the experience.I think Villa are now stronger for spell we spent as your guests.

Please don’t be offended if we aren’t  back anytime soon though 😃
