My top choice would be Remy on a loan. Realistic?? I doubt it... But I can dream. We have already purchased several young strikers to nurture and build.

I watched many Premier League games last season here in the States featuring WBA- and Lescott was exposed often imo. Just my 2 cents.

He was exposed, imo, because WBA have a static backline full stop. The lack place all over the pitch, so there was nobody around to make up for his shortcomings.

He's a very intelligent defender. Composed, a juggernaut in the air, I've always rated him and wanted him.

That is a very good point. Regardless of what I think of his mobility... If he comes to Villa he will be cheered by me.

I think Sherwood will be our Robin Hood Saturday...  stealing Adama from the rich (Barca) and feeding him to the poor (Sunderland) on Saturday.  I don't think Adama will start- but I'm expecting him to get on at the 60min mark and terroize the sloth-like back 4 of Sunderland.

Lets just say I for one don't believe the Ayew we are seeing right now is the Ayew we will be seeing 2 months from now.  Once he settles and gels with the club he will show his worth...  my previous post was more pointed at ppl talking of cutting losses and selling him after 2-3 matches!

I have confidence in our staff's scouting and coaching abilities...  I don't believe that they would have spent $10mil on a player if they didn't think he'd come good.

well win or lose...  i don't agree with the lineup choice.  I would have liked to have seen more regulars in the lineup to help them 'gel' faster for league play personally.  I know they would have been knackered from playing Saturday- but they could have played 45-60minutes FFS. 

I would have liked to have seen Veretout, Sanchez, Gana in the midfield personally-

honest question...  does this game go to extra time and PKs?  or do they have a replay @ Notts after full time?

I think its pretty obvious that TS is looking for 'goals by committee' approach instead of having one target man that will bang in 18-20 goals.  I've never been comfortable with our team being so reliant on one player for all our goals.  This is why I've never been sold on all the Austin talk.

I personally am a fan of the committee approach.  We have signed 4-5 players that are capable of 5+ goals each.  Ayew, Gestede, Veretout/Gana (combined), Adama, Sinclair... If we get Ljajic too- fabulous- that is a 6th player capable of another 5-10 goals.  The more the merrier! 

Our team becomes more dangerous when we have more weapons- TS can ride the hot hand when one presents itself.  I fully expect one of the names listed to surprise us all and net more than 10 goals.  My money is on either Ayew or Gestede.

I completely agree with the trap theory... He has 12 months left on his contract, his free should be dropping not escalating.

Given all the creative players we are bringing in and are now linked with... Ljajic is a very gifted player. Is it possible that TS is happy with our strikers because he thinks all our flair players will be putting balls on silver platters for them to tap in?? Then it won't matter who the striker is! Haha..
