Im going to repeat myself,he stays for the same amount of time O'Neil had, then hes judged by his results.
-
Stay, and given the same amount of time O'neil had before judgement is passed.
-
I chose Bent if for no other reason he made the difference with his goal,Collins was up their to,great result.
-
So to sum up .......you want to replace this manager who has lost the confidence of the squad and the majority of the fan base, bring in fat sam because he WILL turn it around and make you all very happy, you hope,WHAT YOU GOING TO SAY IF AND WHEN THAT DONT WORK?BRING IN ANOTHER MANAGER?Wake up people! What we have here is a culmination of something that started in January of 09,its now all come to a head and GH has to take all this crap from the O'neil mob who thought the sun shone out of his arse!
-
everyone wants Houllier out but no one makes a good recommendation for who could manage the team as a replacement, or at least interim manager
I dont want him out,i want him in,i wanted O'neil out 12 months ago,im backing GH.
-
The players first and then o'neil, nobody else.
-
Get what you can for him!SELL SELL SELL
-
As far as Clark, Albrighton and Carew go we're playing with 8 men at the moment.
How the hell do you put this result down to the two youngest players on the pitch, carew, yes, and a few more of his more senior team mates, but not the kids.
-
This is the same game as last week only the teams are reversed,we are rubbish,Carew is rubbish and friedel is rubbish
-
Coppell has resigned.....is he on his way here?

What would people be happy with over the next few years? Clearly a new manager needs time to build their own squad but do people think getting closer to 4th than MON did last season is a realistic aim in the next 3 years?
I really think we have a really good base squad so any manager coming in would not have to make too many changes just bring in a few players that suit his style a bit more. If we bring in a manager that overhauls the entire squad then we could have a disastrous few years ahead of us.
Same here, only 2-3 new players and then a new style of play can do wonders.
spot on,we have some good players who just need motivating differently.

Ive been lucky enough to see the villa win the league, exactly the same amount of times me dad and grandad have,so if for one season the option is top 4 finish or a world cup,i want to see England win a world cup,as their are far fewer chances for it to happen before i die.

This is one of the best signings mon has made and he does not even realize it!If young leaves in the summer it would be a disgrace.
-
Give us 30 million and we will throw in Ashley young for nothing.
-
If some of you rate success as a manager by the trophies won MON is well short of any success. If you see it as avoiding relegation and consolidating a top ten place then you should be pleased.
-
This will come as a surprise to some on this board, when we score a goal do you have a "knee jerk" reaction to that goal or do you sit and think about it and celebrate at some later point in the game? What do you expect real fans of Villa to do after getting beat this badly?
-
Delaney.
I think Young has been equal in his short stay, but so far it is a very short stay. Delaney was consistently solid over a number of years.
I thought he was consistently injured?
-
PLEASE MON, STOP PLAYING HESKEY.
-
Gutted, but now can focus on the league. Will be interesting to see how MON picks them up from this setback
Was that sarcasm?Focus on the league,a place in europe maybe?Hmmm it would be great to play in a european league.

We are the champions my friend.....
-
Glory be,the Villa win 3-0.Im optimistic in nature.
-
He has to stay but he has to make changes to.

Well by the sound of people on here:
Thanks for the memories Martin, you took us from being absolute rubbish to a really decent team.
Its a pity that people don't have patience anymore, but as you always say - 'its a results business'
and the people who are impatient have a lot more 'power' in taking the feel good factor away than the people who try to keep it up..
best of luck in whatever you choose to do next, i'll bet you'll do a cracking job at stabilising and building it.
Im sorry mate but you and anyone else talking about a lack of patience has a very short memory. This has come to a head not because of the wigan result, this started back in january, lots of us have shown a great deal of patience.I waited for the new season and i expected to see some different football to that played since january.
