I can't remember us having 64 chances all season.

Wow...When Bennett gets overrun he get slaughtered, even if we all know he has no protection, just like Bertrand today.
Bennett is really shit though. Bertrand in all fairness is a far better player and would be much better with the right players around him. Hence why he's on Chelsea's books and not Bennett.
Plus, he doesn't give the ball away in horror areas nor do anything diabolically bad.
-
Yeah, thought he got really overrun as all of City's width was on that side, not really his fault.

Grealish coming on!

I thought it was dreadful. One of the worst PPVs I've watched in a while.
How come?
Fair enough, I enjoyed it all bar the booking of the Wyatts. Shield vs. Evolution is a MOTY contender for me.

Having only seen him live in pre season, I can't wait to see what Jack is capable of, some of those League One highlights showed a lot of good qualities.

I'd be happy with the same levels of investment we had under O'Neill, but this time targeting young and exciting players from Europe, like some of the names we were linked in the summer but were always too unrealistic with our restraints.

Apologies if this has been posted already.
Telegraph,
Percy, John
Randy Lerner will reveal his plans for Aston Villa’s future next week and Paul Lambert is anxious to discover if he will be part of it.
Lerner is expected to announce his intention to sell the club and his hopes of agreeing a £200 million deal will have been strengthened by Villa staying in the Premier League.
But Lambert is clearly in limbo, unable to offer any assurances he will remain as manager and having to postpone any preparations for next season.
Huge changes are inevitable this summer, regardless of Lerner’s next statement, and there is a sense that Lambert could be on his way.
When asked if he believed he would be manager next season, he said: “I hope so, that is what I want to do. All I can do is plan for tomorrow. Whatever happens, I’m too long in the tooth to think about it. It will bring clarity and it will not be a problem, whatever way Randy wants to play it.
“The last couple of years have been tough. The chairman has said himself I have had to work within the para-meters he has set, you either take on the challenge or bottle it.”
Relegation to the Championship would have undoubtedly damaged Lerner’s plans but this victory over a wimpish Hull City never looked in doubt.
Ashley Westwood’s excellent finish after 57 seconds was cancelled out by Jordan Bowery’s own goal but two headers from Andreas Weimann terminated any fears of the drop.
Weimann said: “There is no reason for him [Lambert] not to be here. Of course I want him to continue. It’s frustrating we can’t do it every week but all that matters is that we’re safe.”
While there was a palpable sense of relief around Villa Park, this was an excruciating experience for Steve Bruce, the Hull manager.
He had no option but to plug in the hairdryer at half-time, after a dismal opening 45 minutes, and has warned his players to regain their focus ahead of the FA Cup final, thanks to which they have qualified for next season’s Europa League, against Arsenal later this month.
“We won’t play that badly again. We won’t last long in Europe if we play like that,” he said. “I haven’t had to rant and rave on many occasions but there were a few words to be said. It’s difficult to keep everybody focused but this might be a gentle reminder that there’s always something there to bring you down a peg or two. We’ve still got a job to do here and a game against Manchester United on Tuesday. We will be better there because we couldn’t be any worse.”

This feels good!

Has to be Benteke against Norwich for me. He is our only player that could have pulled of that technique and strike, such an important goal too, coming out of nowhere.
-
Fer anyone? Maybe a bit similar to Delph but I think he's been Norwich's best player this season.
-
First signing needs to be Hatem Ben Arfa. Been kicked out of the Newcastle first team by Pardew for no good reason apparently. Super player, and most definitely available for transfer
Injury prone and moody, we already have N'Zogbia.
I'd like Remy, Caulker, Naughton, Holtby, Barry.
Caulker is a great shout, would love him here. Had a fantastic season.
-
I could see him going to QPR if they get promoted.
-
Apparently, Lambert didn't come out for the 'lap of appreciation'. The Birmingham Mail first reported it and then it was confirmed by another poster elsewhere.
-
Am i right to believe we are 100percent safe now?
Don't think 100% as Norwich could catch us but we are as good as.
-

Directors direct. Managers Manage, Players play & Supporters Support.( allegedly)
You are correct, allegedly managers are meant to manage, sadly Lambert hasn't been able to in more than one sense of the word.
-
Guess we have to go for it.
Guzan
Lowton Vlaar Clark Bertrand
Bacuna Westwood Delph
Albrighton Agbonlahor
Robinson
Robinson could be a risk but I don't think the fans would get on his back so that would help create a better atmosphere. Gabby gets a chance to earn that contract he doesn't deserve. I'd play with as much width as possible, getting crosses into the box. Baker has to be dropped, especially at home when we need to play out from the back.
-
We just have to wait till next week, our fate should be decided either way. If we do survive, (I think we will), then this season could be good for the club, with the fans demanding a change in owner/manager.
-
I thought the Villa supporters were at the end Shelvey scored at?
-
He'll be decent for a Championship side. Hopefully that side isn't us.
Please play Clark or that Clarke fella I've heard so much about on here.
-
So Fulham are 4 points behind us?
Yeah, effectively 5 with their awful goal difference.
-
Next week really is key for us. I could see all the teams below us losing and it is probably our only chance to get some points. A win and we can go back to enjoying all the takeover speculation. Even a draw with other favourable results going for us should see us comfortable.
Next week can't come quickly enough.
