Just a thought as this is a truly class tune, but this doesn't seem to be taking off. Would it not sound better to switch it to 'Yooooooooung, Ashley is on fire!' Sounds more like the actual song. Still can't see it taking off though.

Well the back of the Upper Holte is already the 'unofficial designated standing/singing area' and there are good numbers up there who stand and sing every game but the noise doesn't travel at all. Hardly anyone else in the Holte joins in anyway unless we're winning or playing Blues so it won't hurt anything if the singers moved. If we could transport all those from the back of the Upper Holte to the lower North it would be brilliant, imagine 3000 stood in there singing every game and having banter with the away fans. Teams wouldn't slag our fans off then. Who really cares if other fans slag us off? Moving from the Holte just isn't an option surely... Its the away games where these chants need to be introduced.

Brilliant! But i can't help but think that this will end up being another potentially great chant that will never get to the terraces. IMO this is one of the best and easiest chants to remember for young, who desperately needs a chant.

I like the chant, but i dont think it would be wise to use it, because what if we were chasing one of those players (SWP for example i would love to see in a villa shirt) in january and they didn't join because of the fans opinion of them. I may be reading too much into it, but it seems a high price to pay to potentially lose a signing. Definitely agree that we need a chant for ash tho, he deserves it more than anyone.

I couldn't really care less which one we got. Santa Cruz is the obvious choice, because he doesn't appear to have many injury problems, but when fit there aren't many better players than Ashton. I would probably say Santa Cruz if i had to pick though

General, I am getting very anxious at the slow pace of incoming players, but i dont think it is my place to criticise until the end of the transfer window. As long as we have the players we need by then, i will be very happy. However, we do certainly need a right back and left back before the season starts, but MON is aware of this im sure. I know my opinion doesn't really make up for some of the posts on this thread, but i just wanted to thank you for coming out and explaining (or trying to) to people, who don't seem to listen, when a lesser man would have hidden in the shadows. Now thats out the way, i would like to show my support for the Marlon Harewood Afro Petition. It would look very stylish and would distract keepers around europe.
