It won’t improve until there’s transparency for every major decision. Improvements in the quality of officiating making the calls. It’s frankly embarrassing that some clubs had to pressure them into releasing audio for certain decisions. More automation on offsides will help. It’s not perfect. But ultimately, as long as refs keep looking out for each to not overturn bad calls etc, there will be little trust in the system. It needs more rigour and independence. Not just jobs for the lads. 

Fair play to the Geordies. Hope we get a similar release video. We just need the elite club treatment from them also.

The most minutes he got at the last Euros was 68 against Czechia. Otherwise, other appearances totalled 37 minutes or under 30 minutes. Southgate wasn’t going to reverse that this time around. It was totally wrong to not use Jack more last time round. But I can understand the rationale for trying something different. Other players deserve their chance. 

Eze had been consistent for Palace for a good while now. Southgate won’t really use Jack so there’s no point in picking him.

Ezri Konsa had played 32 games at Right back and 218 games at CB before last season.

We moved on Young who was our main right back to play Konsa there. It was a massive success. Konsa now covers CB and RB. Signing Hermoso is the same but for the left side. 

Hermoso is absolutely not a replacement for Carlos. Hermoso isn't that good of a defender and we need a right footed Mings to replace Carlos. 

Football is not how it was in the 1990s the game has moved on. 

Young was the better part of 38. He’s not comparable. A big problem last season was the lack of specialist RB when Cash didn’t play. It overexposed Konsa. It’s a squad game. Whilst Unai may like more hybrid, ball playing centre backs who can play out wide. It’s also very evident that we benefit from having full backs who also cover as wing backs. Again, the reality is, the likes of Hermoso isn’t coming here to play LB no matter how much you might wish it.

You do realise that Hermoso has only played LB twenty times in 174 games for Atletico? He’s a CB. If he did sign, he’s coming to replace Carlos.

Digne was our main left back last season - 33 league appearances and 11 in Europe, contributing over 3,300 minutes. Moreno hasn’t exactly been stellar since his return. He’s critical to the team. I highly doubt he’s leaving. 

Carlos, however, played way more than we expected due to injuries. He’s far more likely to be sold despite what was paid for him.

But there’s a lot still we can build upon to improve our finances in the long run. Unai would not have committed for another 5 years without major commitments.

Everyone could see how much we needed Jack at the euros. It felt vindictive at the time. 

Southgate is a tool for not utilising Jack at his peak for us. However, he’s not deserving enough to be in the squad on form alone this time around.

There’s several names we need to sell tbh. Hopefully we can shift the deadwood soon. We were always going to be selling this window - it doesn’t mean our starting XI though 

A majority of the clubs voting against this have cut off their noses to spite their faces. It will come back to bite them. 

Let’s just sell some properties to a sister company like Chelsea did instead.
