  1. Stoke STH i work with reckons Begovic was dropped because he has made it clear he wants to move on and will not sign a new deal hence City played Butland as he will be their keeper next season.

Nothing to do re loss of form, however he also reckons our interest has been made public in the hope that it triggers interest from one of the so called bigger teams as they are yet to enquire about him.

Why does someone being a season ticket holder make them knowledgeable about what's going on within their chosen club?

  2. He wasn't "dropped" it seems...

Stoke manager Mark Hughes insists goalkeeper Asmir Begovic still has a future at the club despite the Bosnian being left out of the squad last week after stating he did not want to sit on the bench.

Hughes's intention was always to give England Under 21 international Jack Butland a couple of games towards the end of the season and last weekend's defeat at Swansea was the first of those.

However, Begovic's decision to tell the Potters boss he did not want to be a substitute at the Liberty Stadium has only increased speculation about his future at the club.

Hughes insists, however, he is not laying the groundwork for Begovic's departure in the summer, although he admits he cannot say for certain whether the goalkeeper will be at the club next season.

'I have said before it was my intention, if I felt it was appropriate, to give Jack some games and that was what I did,' said the Stoke boss.

'I told Asmir and a number of other players who were not involved in the starting XI.

'He wasn't involved because he felt he should have been and his mind was not focused to be on the bench - which I understood to be honest and I was OK with that.

'People have misinterpreted this and it needs clarification.

  3. Yes he could but I just see him as a defensive midfield player. He played ok yesterday in a very poor performance by Colombia who failed to progress from the groups stages

    Did they?

  4. I hope so! How the bloody hell can you tell someones tone from the words they type on an internet forum?!

How can you tell their skin tone from typing on an internet forum?

  5.

I believed in my conversions with him that I was talking to Paul Lambert also. Though I have little substantial evidence for it other than the tone.

    The tone...of his posts?

I think he means skin tone.

  6.

    im not ;)

Only ITK I ever paid any attention to myself was MysteryMan. I miss his posts :(

    Wasn't there another

Hairy hands or something like that?

HH was 5 times the ITK mysteryman was. We used to get starting lineups on a Friday night. A genuine insider. Still wonder who it was.

I'm pretty sure I know who he was. The HH was a bit of a clue.

  8. LOL I love the new diets that come around every so often in the work place.  We have one lady who is a nightmare, constantly harping on about her new diet

It's all a load of bollox. 1000-1500 calories per day, plus some form of exercise for 6 weeks+ and you will lose weight.  Stop pretending you're not gorging out on cake when no one is looking !

    Why would you assume that?

  9.

I think the equivalent from a defensive point of view would be to think of it as if there was shot clearly on target and it hit a defenders arm and took it wide.

But like Stefan says, regardless of what the rules say I personally don't think it should stand. It's wouldn't be a 'fair' goal in my eyes.

    Yep.

The rules are a starting point and need to be adapted by the refs using common sense.

You seem to be confusing rules with guidelines.

  10.

Is the rule that it must be a "deliberate" handball? I don't think it is...

I'm not sure what the rule is within uefa competition but in the premier league the rule is "when the ball hits the hand in a deliberate motion to change direction of the ball"

I thought that was what gets a yellow card... Oh well.

this really does show how average our academy is, it is no longer one of the best as it was once seen to be, this is of course no fault to the coaches because they do a brilliant job, maybe its the day of age where kids only want to be footballers for the money and to date hot models and not really interested in the passion or skill of football?

    Eames

Is that the Academy that won the Next Gen series - beating Barcelona's?

    Yep. Average that.

Not great logic though really, are you suggesting that because we beat them in a one off game our academy is up there with the likes of Barcelona?

Guardiola, Thiago, Xavi, Iniesta, Sergio Busquettes, Messi, Alaba, Montoya.

    VS

Agboblahor, Cahill (our only top class graduate), Craig Gardner, Moore Brothers, Albrighton, Bannan, Weimann, Carruthers, Clarke.

It's a bit of a myth is our academy, we do produce players who go on to have premier league careers no doubt, but very few that would actually be seen as a good signing if they were to come from another club.

Although I, like most others expect big things from Grealish.
