  1. General, Re broadcasting rights for the forthcoming european games.Going on recent history, it's only channel 5/setanta and ITV who seem to broadcast UEFA Cup live. Obvisously Villa will want to sell to the highest bidder to increase revenue but as channel 5 don't broadcast in Ireland, can you please please please sell the rights to either setanta or itv to increase the audience and put Villa on a bigger stage for "neutrals" and Villa fans outside the UK. Keep up the great work.
  2. Gereral is it possible to buy the Uefa cup patch's that are featured on the european shirt separately? I've got the away shirt on my last trip over and would like to get them on it??
  3. I live in Kildare, but your missing the point. I can go and pay 60euro too at a third party store and give them a bigger slice of the profits, but I want to buy it from AVFC and why should we have to pay more for the same item?? 60euro work's out at £48 not the £38.30 that the website are advertising and if I buy it through AVFC I have to pay 59euro which work's out at £47. Ie If the club tell 200 shirts through the online website AVFC.co.uk 100 to uk residents and 100 to europe. They will recieve 100 *£38.30= £3830 100* e59 = e5900 so if they exchange rate is correct £3830 should be = e5900 but it not, £3830 is actually = e4,777.84 therefor the club are gaining extra porfit of e1200 on the shirts sold in europe!! Thats what I'm trying to solve......thank's for the tip though, when I do buy in Ireland I always try to buy in elvery's as every year they always stock Villa gear and I remember one year under GT when things were going not so good for us they were the only retailer in the country to stock villa gear.
  4. As you know Derry and Northern Ireland is classed as the UK and therefore not under the scope of the above arguement. On another point you qualify for the free delivery on all orders over £100 we south of the border don't...
  5. Found it...Jul 10, 2008 - 02:29 PM As I'm travelling over the Liverpool game do you think John or Ourself would be around to discuss? As it's not as simple as it seems!! Irish/European Customers have been "hussled" all the time by British Institutions who operate on both domestic (uk) and overseas markets.Put simply we have to pay more cause we live in Ireland!!! Argos, M&S,TESCO's all have different prices for the same items depending on what country there store is located. But here's the difference they use the excuse of extra transport, higher wages, higher overheads etc. to justify it. VILLA DO NOT HAVE A STORE/OVERHEADS in Ireland, and we are still being charged more!! In my opinion there is two possible explamations for this, 1, In an oversight on the part of the Villa Marketing team in an attempt to Offer European/American customers the chance to purhase from the Villa website just installed software that quotes $ and Euro prices that does not keep up to date with current exchance rates. Thus charging a 16% increase for no reason...... Or 2, A realisation by Villa that everyone else are doing it and so should we. They realise that Irish fans are used to paying extra for British so it would be foolish not to ask?? Which from a bussiness point of view is possible. Senario(sp). Irish soccer fan walks into a sports store in Ireland and see's Man Utd home top 60euro,Liverpool Top 60euro therefore Aston Villa should be 60euro....... Based on everthing that has come and gone with yourself and Randy I know which one I believe to be the corrcect senario but if this information did reach John Greenfield then I can't understand why the website still operates "hussling Irish/American fans/customers for money for nothing....."How much merchandise has been bought by overseas customers?? Cause 100% of these fans have been overcharged!!!!
  6. General I posted this and H&V.net on the 10th July and since then both Irish1 and I have been frequently asking the question and not getting a proper response....I can't find it but you quoted to me that you passed on the following info to John Greenfield and were awaiting response. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How General how's thing's??? I'd just like to say thank you very much for releasing the picture's on the Website at 2ish(Same time as the launch in Birmingham City Center). I live in Ireland an was dreading having to wait until some of the fans got back to there laptop's to upload there photo's.I's nice to know that all fans are being treated with the same respect. On another note you said you were in discussings with Irish retailers about making the shirt available in Ireland. Do you have any more info, ie 1) Will the shirt be availible here on the 24th (inclucding Long sleeve) 2) Who are the retailers as al ot of them tend to be regional? 3) Will training gear etc also be availible? 4) Is there a set cost in euro's as alot of retailers tend to use a very bad exchance rate when selling products available both in the uk and ireland thus increasing there profit margin over here? For example on the wesite the euro price is 51 euro is that the price we can expect to pay in store in ireland?? General why has the price on the home website increased from 51euro on Monday to 59euro today???? This my point!!!!!! That's a 16% mark up for no reason!!!!!! The current £stg price of the standard home replia shirt Is From £38.30 (Ex VAT) (why the 30p?) which at todays exchange rate is 75.8798 USD and 48.1961 euro The website is selling it for 80USD and 59 euro - that's an increase of 5 USD and over 10 euro!!!! Do you know why this is so???
  7. Mission Completed: Score 100% please move to next mission.......please add Carlos Cuellar (and Milner)
  8. they are up on the OS now Young 2 and Shorey 21 Holy smoke Batman that man works fast , thanks for the update but can we get this page updated pls http://www.avfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/FirstTeam/0,,10265,00.html Any thoughts on why shorey choose 21 over 12 or 33 say.
  9. General, Can you get the website to update the squad section re numbers and members, No Brad Freidel/Guzan, Nicky Shorey or Luke Young??? I know the website released the numbers in a story a few weeks ago but what numbers do the new additions have??? Looking forward to kick off keep up the good work
  10. Agree but don't think this by much prod improved from 70 out of 100 to 75 out of 100
  11. If you want it straight away what you need to do is to choose the sterling option on the OS and pay it,. your credit card company will give you the current rate at the moment .I haven't done this ..(still waiting for an answer from the general) and don't know what you will be charged but it would def represent a saving to figure out which is the best rate.
  12. What a smashing idea!!!! Can this be done to my 07/08 away jersey to make it a 08/09 third kit??
  13. Thank you very much, please forgive me but can I predict what Mr Greenfield is likely to say (I hope I'm wrong!!!), but alot of British companies do do this (M&S, B&C, Booths and IKEA etc) When they're selling the same product in Europe and the UK, they need to put both the UK price and Euro price on the Tag. As the exchance rate does change it is very hard to keep this accurate, but the companies have to price product that won't be released for sale for a couple of months it is very hard to predict were the exchange rate will be at that time, which is understandible. But IT IS ALWAYS THE EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS WHO LOSS OUT.The Briish companies alway leave abit of leaway so they don't loss out but 16% is def to much. We alway's seem to get the short end of the stick.(This is being investigated in Eire at the moment and consumers are more alert to it at the moment). Again thank you for addressing the issue and I'm hoping for a positvie response from the Club.Keep up the good work.
  14. Please don't tease us, we've been on here for months now trying to get clues to what it's going to be like!!!! Any chance or a brief discription? or maybe a clue to the away colour? Please, Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Pleasev Please Please
  15. I assume this will be done on the official website, like was done with the acorns deal!!As you can imagine behind the great story that it was, to be told by Richard Scudamore that he welcomed the "rumour"(cause at the time thats all it was), was abit of a let down. It wasn't for another couple of hours that we were "immedediately let known" on the OS .I taught this to be very unprofessional. So when a rumour is no longer a rumour and has become a "nailed someone down", do you have faith in the OS that this can be done in a professional manner that has flooded throughout the club since your comings and maximise the postive aspects of the deal?
  16. General, What has been done to prevent the same situation arising as last year with pre-ordering the Villa Shirt? If I remember correctly the date was put back twice and then the shirt became available in the club shop before people who pre-ordered had recieved theirs? Are we still using kit-bag.com, as I also recall people having issue's with part shipments and the like last year too, With the acorns partnership and the expected increase in sales will these problems also increase?
  17. HI General, On this subject, I'm also from Ireland and have travelled over many times to watch Villa play and have been lucky enough to get in on a tour once(As a result of me having to stay 2 days longer) This is def a market that can be tapped into. Ryanair and AirLingus both have early morning flights on satuardays at 6:30am arriving @ 7:30 or so and 10:30 ariving 11:30. Whichever flight I take it always got loads of fans coming over for the game and when kickoff isn't till 3 o'clock these people tend to go to City Center or Pub to spend their cash Wouldn't it be fantastic if tours could be organised to suit these day/one night travellers?? I understand tours of the stadium on matchday's and 24 hrs afterwards are a no/no at the moment but surely something can be done? If not Villa Park how about Bodymoor Heath?? If this was done perhaps once a month when Villa were at home to a team that won't pull the crowds this could be the incentive to intice the Irish Villian over.Thoughs???
