We have four central defenders , two young and not ready for a full season yet, one unproved in the premiership and the other injury prone and hit and miss - i have great hopes for okore but not convinced the other 3 are good enough - Vlaar and okore may work well but Vlaar with baker or Clark doesn't fill me with confidence - maybe we do need a utility defender who can cover central defence.

Shawcross would fit the bill for me , Clark is a defensive midfielder at best - as a centre half , he is not good enough.

Have to agree sadly, i bought it for a month at £4.99 i think it was? As you say to watch the pre season friendlies etc and also to see whether to continue the subscription over the year.

 

The coverage was pretty poor i have to say with it freezing & a complete loss of coverage for a good while (not that i missed much)

 

I thought the sound quality was awful with 0 % of the games atmosphere being audible due to presumably a poor audio set up at the ground? & the commentary was poor too just basically a hat full of excuses for the dire performance & trying to make it sound as though we were playing well whilst the truth of the matter was we were being really easily contained by a conference team.

Completely agree, for a club like villa this avtv service is very poor - not worth the money , poor sound, poor quality and poor presenter - needs a total overhaul.

I must admit the kit looks really nice - takes me back 30 years to those great days.

Yep score display and time are 10 times bigger than normal.

I had the free month given to me too but I really only want to watch the friendlies on it - once the season begins i won't use avtv, so the free month is little use really - i only subscribed to watch the friendlies.

Can you pay to get just a one off game?

One month subcription is £4.99 so you might as well keep it for a month and then cancel , if you want one game it will still cost the same as for a month.

Is anyone else having problems with playing video on AVTV? I have been since yesterday and want to watch the match today, would appreciate some assistance!

I disagree, there have been several games where he has looked disinterested and going through the motions - his display against bradford being one .

He looked totally unmotivated against a team 3 leagues below with a Wembley final at stake , unacceptable.

Just been assured by the preform group that the problems of saturday will not happen again and the remaining games will be shown with no problems - lets see how tonight goes.

The dulcet tones of mr Woodward await again unfortunately but at least if we have pictures it makes things more bearable.

Ireland has had the chance to break into the side at times and not really taken it - he may be a good player but that is of little use if how attitude and workrate are poor - he had one very good season at man city and has never come close to repeating that in the last 4 years, for a player on his wages his attitude is very poor.

I think the signings already made will be a decent improvement on the likes of bannan and Ireland , i wouldn't be too concerned if we went into the season with the squad we have now but of course it would be nice to shift the deadwood and bring in maybe one or two more .

Either way i think we have much better options on the bench this season than last and more strength in depth.

I think the Irish consortium are close to buying Doncaster - probably will happen once the takeover is complete , a bit of a comedown for him although i guess at his age its playing that matters most.

I suspect his niggly injuries were just that, if he had the full support of his boss he would have played through, but like anyone else, if you feel your being shat on , why make the extra effort when it wont be noticed.

83 appearances is more than enough - he has had plenty of chances and delivered very little - the sooner he goes the better as far as I'm concerned.

**** that, take him the Holte. At 5 years old he's basically a man now! Yes he'll hear some naughty words, it's a football match.

Once or twice in a lifetime remember, stand on The Famous Holte End. You'll regret it if you don't.

Not so much the language that I'd worry about with him its that people tend to stand up and he might see very little - trinity lower seats as close to the front as you can is my advice .

Seemed to get off to a shaky start in the job with the prickly o Neill not the easiest to handle followed by a couple of odd appointments but in the last year or so faulkner has looked at ease in the role and done a good job - credit where due to him.

The highlights on avtv seem to show him having a decent game - really excited about his chances .

I can't see bale going to athletico but if they have bid then it might flush others to come out and bid - spurs will have no hope of getting top four without bale in my view- he was far and away the man who made it all tick for them.
