  1. Do you think the Sheffield Utd fans were having a similar debate the season West Ham won at Utd?
  2. I think we're mixing up protesting against McLeish with criticism of the team. I was at the Bolton game and the support for the team was first class through the entire match. Even after the Holte and Witton found our anti McLeish voice on 63 mins, the support for the team was good (a bit more muted for sure) but there wasn’t any booing or vocal criticism of the team, at least not what I heard. I agree that booing the players may affect their performance, but the point is we’re not doing that…we’re getting at McLeish and should continue to do so whilst getting behind the team at every opportunity. I’d even go as far as to say that the anti McLeish chants morphed into pretty decent support and noise when we managed to get forward and venture over the halfway line after we’d gone behind. Kind of worked as a catalyst that got the crowd going. So, cake and eat it time…support the team as we did against Bolton and get at McLeish at the same time.
  3. posting in the march thread as well.... Unbelievable...really.... That this is even a debate beggars belief. Whether you’re pissed off with Mcleish, pissed off with the quality of the entertainment or pissed off with life, we’re in real danger of going down (BTW I think we have more than enough to stay up but also believe the risk is very, very real). If for a second you believe that the support of the crowd makes a difference (I do), how anyone can make a decision to sit and watch Champions League, or use this to make a protest if they have an option of going and possibly make a difference, stuns me. Relegation is a massive pain in the arse, and having seen us go from Div 2 to Div 3, to European Champions and back to mediocrity, it’s an experience I’d rather not repeat. Save the f-cking protests by staying away until we’re done and dusted. Protest all you want at the game, but get your f-cking arse down to the ground if you have the option, and do what little you can to keep us up.
  4. Well, we've lost 3 games all season to "non elite" teams so although it's entirely feasible for us to only get one more point, our form against the rest points to us getting at least 3 more which should be more than enough. Still very possible but wouldn't swap our position for any of the others at this stage.
  5. Thanks all for the recommendations....pity the game didn't live up to the food.....
  6. I've got an American friend coming to the game with a 15 year old, Villa supporting, faddy eating son. They're doing a European trip and this is one of the highlights (dear God!). I haven't had the heart to tell them what a shit season we're having, but plan on at least getting them some decent pub grub ahead of the game (generous or what :-) ). I have the Barton Arms lined up but don't think he'll take to the Thai food....any other suggestions 10 to 20 mins walk from the ground? All suggestions gratefully received.....
  7. General What is your perspective on the way Spurs are handling the Modric transfer request relative to our approach with Downing? thanks.
  8. 6 tickets left in the neutral end P1 - go to their ticket exchange
