  1. I have exactly the same feelings as I did with Bailey last year.

Weak, lacks confidence, looks to have no acceleration, poor touches and passes.

Next season I expect him to have sorted those. If not, he won't be around for long.

  2. Ange has dropped his bollocks big time with that one.

What an interview to give when you're fighting for fourth place.

Can you imagine Emery every doing something like that?

To me that shows that Spurs think we've got it.

The system and the passing let Ollie down last night - not the other way around.

We definitely didn't make it easy for him...but there was a marked difference between his hold up play against Chelsea when compared to Bournemouth and the recent run of games.

Are we really blaming Olsen for a poor second half performance by the team?! VT really does love a scapegoat!

I thought he did ok and won us a point with the save he made from Palmer.

I don't think there's any blame going around.

From my point of view I just observed that we played differently from the back with Olsen than we did with Martinez and the team didn't adjust well to that as a group.

Even though we did absolutely none of that in the first half?

The first half wasn't good, but we didn't turn the ball over as quickly as we did in the second half.

It was relentless and eventually we cracked.

Let to no service but had two good chances he normally does better with. Needs a header or instinctive goal to break the 20 barriet

Not sure it was much about service.

Against Bournemouth he was excellent at taking in the long ball. Against Chelsea it bounced of him like a wall and we couldn't build anything.

It shows how important he is when we're not passing through the lines well.

When he's not on it, we can't get out.

  7. Completely changed how we play.

We had to go long from all our goal kicks because he lacks confidence with his feet.

Combine that with Ollie not being able to hold up a thing all night and it meant we could never get out of our half.

Put Martinez in goal with his calm play form the back and that second half performance is much different.

  8. Great goal. Confident with the ball...but for some reason his first touch was absolutely shite yesterday and put us in trouble multiple times.

There was also the powerful run where it looked like he could just slot someone in down our left and he took a poor touch and just tripped over.

    Strange game. Probably tired.

  9. I thought he harassed fairly well last night....at all points except when Gallagher cuts in to shoot 😭

I've no idea why no-one pushed out to close him down.

Can't believe anyone would think the simple header back isn't on, olsen has to back peddle before he can pick it uo but it's still easy enough to manage

Piece of piss cushion header kills the play

Disagree. If Olsen had held his ground, I think Carlos could've done that...But Olsen is outside of the box and running forwards when Diego has to make the decision.

I mean, it an absolutely awful clearance that can't be excused, but he doesn't do that if Olsen is just waiting on his penalty spot.

  11. I think Carlos would want to nod it back to the keeper but recognises Olsen is coming out so doesn't want to put it over him as he runs out of the box.

Slow to react to the Brentford onslaught once it got going.

But he can’t play the match for these players.

Not sure you can say he was slow to react. It was only 9 minutes between all three goals. Neither was it an onslaught. They had three shots on target and they all came from crosses in that period. Wouldn't even say they had sustained pressure.

Something went on down our right side. Not sure if they pushed Regullion higher up or if Konsa/Bailey just lost their way for ten minutes...I don't think there was really enough time between each goal for us to see a reaction from Emery even if he had tweaked something.

Pretty much all on the players shitting themselves.

  13. He might actually be a useful tool against City.

Press with intensity and harass their defense.

With the few touches he'll get, you know he'll still lazer in a couple of unexpected shots from unlikely positions...might actually catch Man City out a bit.

  14. Gordon is a problem.

Both penalties against West Ham were a case of him just throwing a leg in front of a clearance without any control of the ball or any intent to get anything except contact.

I think Salah had one against Mings once where he just threw a leg out.

Really, they're free kicks against the defenders but why do the refs keep going for it?

I'm worried about the Brentford game now if they play like that.

Also Mbuemo back from injury so will be a tough game.

You've got to remember how stupendously shit Man United are this year.

They let every team they play have 15-20 shots per game.

Brentford are a useful team, but we'll have enough.

blimey, was that actually his first minutes for the senior team?!

Sort of, he played in the farce of our U18s against Liverpool in the cup which technically counted.

  17. Just a random thought...but shouldn't he be knocking Konsa's chip in so it's nestling in the net without any chance of it hitting the post/getting cleared?

However, his pressing and slide tackling created the second goal and Zaniolo's chance soon after... so credit for that.

Never easy for a striker when he's surrounded by plsyers he's not used to playing with. From free kicks and corners the aim was maguire. Chilwell had opportunities to put him in but no quality. Bellingham strutting his stiff but never looked for Watkins. Gallagher industrious as usual but lacks quality. Gordon just cuts inside. Very overrated by commentators. He had no service. Modt games kanes goes missing but had the knack of scoring. Think England missed Saka. Gives them width. All the talk about building a team around Foden from Neville and like no it has to be built around Bellinghsm and saka.

  19. That video just shows what a nonsense it all is.

Look how long it's taken to disallow a goal where a player clearly uses his arm to knock it in.

Not to mention an offside player at the start having an impact on our players to get back into defensive positions.

Also, I get the feeling that there would be some interpretations where if it had come of Bowen (but not his hand) then the handball could've been ignored for some reason.

I didn't really see a reason to take that badly:

    • They were right based on our performance
    • There was always a chance of it with us playing days before and them having weeks off
    • If anything, it diminished from their own great result, rather than disrespecting us

Imo it's a way of belittling Villa. "They couldn't offer anything except effort and even then we knew they'd run out of steam"

I remember John Terry saying the same when a Chelsea beat an O'Neill team.

    Cheap shot imo.

  21. Almost identical conversations to the ones that were had after the United loss...and we recovered from that.

We've done a really good job of not letting losses fester and turn into a long run of poor results, so hopefully we carry that on.

It'll be harder with the injuries and suspensions we have this time around, but there's no point throwing in the towel just yet. Emery won't.

  22. It's a red, no doubt.

If he'd tripped him with a clipped heel, or even slid in front and not got the ball it's a yellow.

The fact he took a huge **** swipe from the wrong side means he's basically just kicked on opponent.

Lansbury had one for us in the Championship.
