Just seen that Kirsty Hanson provided more assists in the WSL in 2023 than any other player, that's despite having only one assist in the league this season. We need to get her back in the form she showed second half of last season.

Although probably worth remembering although we're nearly halfway through the season, that's only ten games, and Hanson has only played seven of those games, so it's not like she's been out of form in an attacking sense for an extended period, and I say in an attacking sense, as she's always works hard, and is good at the defensive side.

I've seen a few harsh words about Dali, I think that's unfair, she wasn't good against Everton, but other than that has been good since returning and was getting better, hopefully Everton game was just a blip, I saw a stat that despite missing half the season in the WSL so far, she's created more chances than any other player, I think that's been another problem for us we haven't been taking our chances as well this season, even Daly has been missing chances that last season she would have scored, although I'm loath to say anything negative about her, as she's still excellent for us.

Who has been badmouthing my Kenza?! 😤

  2. As a STH for the women's team, I think it would be an idea for your attendance history to count towards tickets for the men's team. I don't go to the men's games, mainly because of transport, living almost 100 miles away, but when I do think about going to a game I have to wait for tickets to go on general sale as I have to recent attendance history.

As a women's STH I'm still putting my money into the club, maybe by linking the two it would help to increase attendance into the women's team too, helping make that stronger.

I can see the argument that this could be used as a cheap way to get in, by buying a £10 ticket for the women's and not bothering to go as it's relatively cheap but surely by having your ticket scanned, they know if you've actually attended, is that not how the pride rewards work?

Probably wouldn't bring in loads of money but I can only see it benefitting Villa as a whole.

who could we get to replace her

Suzanne Bakker, Ajax's manager is bizarrely being let go at the end of the season. WSL would be a step up.

  4. Was it a full season long loan to begin with or just half?
I see West Ham have already made 2 signings, no noise from us yet. It's strange because on paper I think we have a great side but on grass we're not seeing that. Possibly some more experience in defence?

If you believe that a title race is an ongoing thing throughout the season, in the same way that the relegation battle starts in August, then we are undeniably in a title race. Until I suppose we are 6 or 7 points adrift of the front runners.

You can say that we are in a title race but we very very likely won't win it.

Although we've only got 18 games left and City have 19 games left, that's a long way to go yet at this stage of the season...

So, the MOTD commentator didn't have a clue about rules or football... then 3 former players agree it should have been a goal and the handball was a penalty...

If this lady ref is better than the current shite then I couldn't care what sex she is....

If you ask me, the only league with worse officiating than the Premier League is the WSL 😬

Definitely seems a new breed of supporter around me in the lower holte , mass over reaction to the performance , streaming out when Sheffield scored and moaning non stop. We are still unbeaten at home for 10 months. It's almost like they have only just starting supporting us , it's the best it's been now for 15 years or more , get behind the team.

I've seen this at the women's matches this season too, after last season's success, more people attend, we don't play well, those people moan and leave. Last season I don't think I really heard any complaining even when we weren't playing well, nothing but support.

If we beat Brighton we will only be on three less points than we were last season going into the Christmas break, we had lost half of our games at that point, including going on a three game losing streak, in that run were defeats to West Ham and Everton and then finished the year by losing 5-0 to Man Utd and 4-1 to Arsenal. Point being we were doing better then results wise, but not to the extent that some might think.

We're not expected to finish anywhere near the top, dosn't really matter that we're fourteen points behind Chelsea, last season we had our best season ever, which was always going to be hard to replicate, and even then we finished twenty-one points off the top, I think some still haven't got to grips with how far ahead the top four are, this time last season, when again we had our best season ever, we were fifteen points off the top of the table.

But of course this thing of if we beat Brighton then we will only be on three less points than we were last season going into the Christmas break, needs us to actually beat Brighton first, which I'm not confident of, that's  less do with how the team has been performing - other than Everton they've been good of late - and more to do with our awful league form at the Bescot, but we have to find a way of overcoming that, a win would be huge for us and hopefully set us up for a better second half to the season, which hopefully be helped by some new signings.

I think it would help the team to find a new home ground about an hour closer to Oxford 😌
