  1. General,

Please, can Randy and the board hurry up and sort things out. Another desperate defeat and we are becoming a laughing stock. 26th August and our European involvement over, 6 goals shipped against a mediocre Newcastle side and we have sold our best asset again

Keep this up and we will be down by Christmas!!

  2. I seriously believe that. Whenever NRC has played against Liverpool, he has totally outplayed Mascherano and make him look average!

It's all a matter of opinions but I just think he's terrible.

Yeah well he isn't Argentian and bought for a ridulous amount of money so he can't be good. :P

I would rather have NRC in my team too.

Or maybe he passes, tackles, shoots, runs, retains and all the rest of the attributes necessary to be a footballer better than Reo-Coker? Just a thought. :?

Well, he passes. Not massively well, but he certainly passes. Certainly not as well as Petrov. Or most other central midfielders.

Tackles, yup - he does. He's not bad at this. Which is pretty useful considering it's his whole raison d'être .

Shoots? Really? Two goals in a seven year career certainly suggests it's nothing something to be shouting about.

Runs? Certainly not with the ball.

Retains? Well, this falls into the passing bit really.

His distribution is slightly better than Reo-Coker. But so is most people's. Everything else - there's not really any difference.

    Spot on.

Reo Coker even sat him on the bench when he was at West Ham because he was shite.

And he loses the benefit of Alonso and an in form Gerrard and suprise suprise, he looks shite again.

    World Class, my arse.

    Totally agree.

I think selling NRC would be madness.

    1. Membership scheme: Nicky Keye is evaluating the membership scheme idea at this time. We will keep everyone posted.

    2. iPhone app: Yes, we will have an iPhone app...it will hopefully be out very shortly. I have seen it in rough form and it is going to be superb.

    3. Ahhhh Henrik_7 my lad....good try!!! I do find it very interesting that you have caught on to the fact that some small number of Villa Fans do not appreciate what MON has done for the Club. If we just look at this year: 1) Youth team in the championship, 2) Reserves in the championship, 3) Won the Peace Cup, 4) two trips to Wembley, 5) fighting for a spot in Europe, 6) beat some very strong teams, etc. etc. Some people just don't seem to always appreciate what they have until they lose it. We don't want to lose our Manager.

    General K,

Fantastic summing up as to why some fans just don't realise what we have.

With this in mind can we take this that the board and Randy are fully committed to keeping MON here next season and backing him again in the transfer market as they have done so every year so far?

I trust all of the teams and staff involved in the Youth and Reserves will get to do a lap of honour after the Blackburn game along wiht the first team and MON?

  4. General

Just seen the prices for the Brighton FA Cup game :) and well done to the club for again listening and keeping prices as low as possible. I hope we get a big crowd on the day to cheer the lads on.

One complaint I have - why didn't Randy sort the bloody weather out in Blackburn. Gutted the game was postponed and he has gone down in my estimations! ;-)

  5. You have an owner who busts his bum to do right by the Fans. You have a Board that keeps the Fans in the forefront. You have a Manager and Coaches and Team that are working like trojans to make the Fans happy. You have a Villa Park staff who are focused on the Fans.

    General K,

I haven't posted on here for some time but had to defend you, Randy and the club here. AVFC is about as far removed from the old club you tookover as I can imagine. We have an owner who is 2nd to none!! Not one other club has what we have in Randy and the way he puts the fans first. I believe if he could we would get into Villa Park free!

I am looking forward to Christmas and the New YEar more than I have done in decades as a Villa fan and think we are very close to a very special time in our history.

I know you don't do transfers but if MON feels he wants to make a mvoe in January will Randy be able to help again?

Have a great Christmas with the family and I hope to see you back at Villa Park in the early New Year.

  6. General Krulak here:

    1. I will forward the info re. stewards to our Head of Security. it is always good to get a perspective from someone who is watching it all happen.

    2. I did not mean Randy!!! My goodness, he is in this for the long run!! I hope that everyone can see that Randy is a special type of guy who appreciates the ethos and tradition and history of the Club. He is not going to turn his back on that.

Thanks for the reply General and good to hear.

Randy has again supported Mon in the window and I am looking forward to our new, improved squad, staying the course this season.

Please pass on my thanks to Randy and tell Mon that the silent majority are behind him and the team 100%

    1. carlitobriganti: I would not be telling the truth if I said that the influx of owners with billions to spend was not on my mind. Simply put, some of the new owners are extremely wealthy and that is obvious by the amount of money being paid for players...not just in the UK but in Europe as well. It is a fact of life and one that we need to live with. I have a sense that the ownership may become fleeting as the excitement of ownership wears off...this will be even more true if success does not follow the expenditure of money. But, at the end of the day, it is what it is.

    2. Service: I can assure everyone that we do our very best to monitor and educate the staff working the kiosks around the stadium. It is hard work, demanding, and time-consuming. We do not get the same folks every game so it is a constant re-education process. I know it sounds like we just need to put these folks on the payroll...make them permanent but the cost of doing so is prohibitive. We will be increasing the supervision and hopefully that will make a difference.

    General

Do you put Randy in this category? Is he getting frustrated with things?

  8. General,

As usual, great post and reply

I was born close to Villa Park have followed Villa all my life and now approaching 50. I went to my first game in 1969 and have been 'hooked' ever since. Villa are in my blood, simple as that.

There have been many dark days and times and it would have been the easy option to have given up on the Villa - especially when we got relegated to the 3rd division. But, and a massive but, there have been some fantastic good times (like winning the league and the European Cup!) and they will live with me for the rest of my days

Now, I really can't believe some of the posts I am seeing. I can only believe they are the younger generation because surely if they had really been thru the dark times like I have then they would be coming out with such clap trap. I am even minded to say we can do without such 'fans'

We will get it right. No doubt about that. We are making great progress and the vast majority of true and proper supporters are behind Randy and Martin and the rest of the staff.

I would be grateful if you could feedback to those who matter a balanced view and that most of us are there, behind the team, thru thick and thin.

Keep the faith. I will until I die

    TRUE VILLAN

Thank god we still have 'proper' fans.

Great post and I agree with it all. Tell Mon and the players we are still behind them

    4. Fuse: With all due respect to Sky Sports, they have muddled the interview with MON. Simply put, MON and Randy Lerner continue to be absolutely on the same sheet of music. MON knows he has the support of Randy and Randy's complete trust and confidence. There is no question that the economic situation is impacting everyone...the man and woman on the street as well as those who are a tad better off. That does NOT mean that money has dried up for the Villa. As I have said many times over, MON knows what the team needs and he knows who is available and he knows what a "correct" price for talent is in the market. Neither Randy nor MON is going to throw money at a player who will not produce on the Pitch for MON at the level of the asking price. MON and the Club picked up Hes at a fair price and he has already proven the wisdom of MON's choice. To start listening to Sky Sports interpretation of a MON interview is something I will not do. I trust MON...I believe in him...I believe in what he is doing with the Club and I believe he acts in the Club's best interests. Obviously, I feel the same way about Randy Lerner. Speaking strictly as a Fan and not a Board Member, I give both men my total support and trust.

Thanks for clearing it up for me and it is good to her that the great working relationship is still very much in place.

It is great to have access to your good self to get to the bottom pf confusions such as this.

    Cheers

  10. General K

Perhaps you can clear something up. Sky Sports are running an interview in which it says we did not buy any other playersdurint the latest transferwindow as Randy blocked the moves. Furthermore it suggests the economic climate is hiiting us badly.

Has Randy now put a block on spending on players? Are we being badly effected by the economic situation?

    Thanks

  11. Petrov for me for the calendar year. Luke Young is pushing him for player of the season so far.

You cannot underestimate how important Petrov's contribution is to the team. He is our best CM and the only one who is happy to not treat the ball like a hot potato when surrounded by opponents. Creates space and time for himself and rarely gives the ball away. Unlike Mr Barry.

  12. Sorry Gen but I must stick up for myself - when MON was interviewed yesterday on both Sky and The BBC - now they are two vastly respected organisations, and in the BBC, an organisation that is recognised for its quality all around the word.

First question asked on both "Well Martin, was that a case of Villa choking ?"

Now if people don't believe it - why ask ??

Did you honestly expect him to say anything else? Is he going to admit to us being bottlers?
