You might want to look at what you posted @darrenm you are definitely implying that age has an element.

I'll admit you can read it either way. But for the sake of clarity, I'm not implying that. I'm double jabbed and I'm younger (relatively!) so I'm unlikely to get severely ill and (new clause, unrelated to age) I'm less likely to pass it on.

Why are you unlikely to pass it on?

    Because being vaccinated reduces transmission.

Why would you be any less likely to pass it on because your younger? Age is completely irrelevant when your talking about your ability to pass this virus onto someone else. 18 months on and people still don't understand the basics of this pandemic.

I didn't say less likely to pass it on because I'm younger, I said I'm double jabbed and therefore less likely to pass it on. Learn to read before making assumptions about others' understanding.

  3. I don't wear a mask now unless the shop requests it. I haven't got anything against them but I think at some point you have to take the win and appreciate the feeling of freedom while it's on the retreat. I'm double jabbed and younger so I'm unlikely to be very ill if I get it and unlikely to pass it on. While deaths are still in the realms of probably end of line anyway people I'd like to feel some kind of normality.

Seriously, do one. No one cares.

I do. I appreciate polite fans of other clubs.

Maybe he knows his shin issue is more serious and he won't be able to play much longer so wanted to give us a 100mill parting gift. Legend.

I think there's something in that. Not with the shins, more that we need better quality all over the pitch and I'm sure he knows he's certainly not leaving us in the shit by having 100m for him.

    Interesting POV

I think it's too cheap. The point above from Matt is also correct. Which is why I think Pep sees him in the same way we do - a footballer with an old fashioned romantic style and was willing to pay a lot of money for someone with a worrying recurring injury, not much international experience and no CL experience.

Don't worry lads, we'll be going through the same thing next year when we lose Raph

We've got some money burning a hole ;)

I wasted the whole **** Euros being fuming at Southgate for not playing him FFS.

    Me too :)

He's still an incredible player and will now take the world by storm. If I wasn't a Villa fan I'd be really excited about seeing KDB, Foden and Grealish in the same team. They're going to destroy everyone.

We get to reshape the team so we're not relying on one person which derails our season if he's out injured.

Best wishes from me, I'd prefer to keep him but I honestly believe it'll work out best all round.

  6. It could well something along these lines:

City enquire about if Grealish would be open to the move on these rough terms through his agent. He indicates yes.

Agent advises Villa that City will be making a bid of around £100m and that Grealish is open to the idea of moving under the terms. The club advise that if Grealish wants to go for that money and a bid is made they'll put a new contract to him alongside City's terms and allow him to make the decision. The club think £100m is about the right value for them to build without him.

City and their journalists get word that the transfer is on because Grealish has accepted terms in principle and that the club will accept the bid if it comes in.

City make the bid, Sam Lee and others are cocksure about the formality of little old Villa lying down in front of the might of City.

Villa accept the bid in terms of value only, present new terms for Grealish to stay and allow him to make the decision.

In the meantime, the reality of the move sets in with Grealish. His family, his grandad, all the Villa supporting celebs who love him for being Mr Villa and the very real problems of empty trophies playing with world class players Vs a statue outside Villa Park. And that Villa's business is actually genuinely exciting.

Perhaps he's now actually torn and is taking time to decide.

Death threats aren't okay for whatever reason.

I don't think that's the point. A lie spreads faster than the truth and it seems that the modern phenomenon to quickly scramble to condemn poor actions from others results in a false narrative being set - in this case that villa fans angry about him leaving when in actuality it's nothing to do with this situation. Before you know it, it's in the Daily Mail and people will forever bring up how villa fans gave Jack's girlfriend death threats because he wanted to leave.

Just been sent a vid by a mate as he’s there watching Villa train. Jack comes over to have his picture taken with the kids, someone says “sign the contract Jack” and his response was “dunno about that”.

Hopefully just fun and games on Jack’s part🤞

That's the thing. Can you imagine him doing any of this if it wasn't already decided he's staying with a bumper contract?

  9. Had time to calm down.

I'm still not convinced he won't weigh everything up and decide the feeling of being at home at Villa is too much and decide to stay.

The £100m must be a release clause. Which would make the transfer request story complete rubbish. In that case, it's purely up to NSWE/Dean to convince him of their ambitions.

But part of me thinks if the money is reinvested in the right way, we could emerge stronger. And Jack's such an incredible player, a *small* part of me wants to see just how good he would undoubtedly be when surrounded by world class players. I think he would elevate City from 'just about the best' to 'another universe' and they'd win every game 5-0.

I'd love to see that happen at Villa but our owners don't seem to be wanting to break FFP rules any time soon. So we probably aren't going to be challenging for the CL within the next 2 or 3 years.

He wouldn't get my blessing to leave but I can understand it.
