  1. **** it up? Improving our points total four years in a row; trips to Wembley; our highest scoring season in 30 years; our highest Premiership points total for a 38 game season; beating Blues every time we played 'em...

... given how much he spent, what did you actually expect? The Premier League title?

I sincerely doubt the next chap to wear the manager's hat will please you.

I hope he does... 'cos he'll have done pretty darn well.

Yeah **** up, he spent money and then never used the players, whats the point!?

Then this summer he wants to do it again, spend money on players he probably wouldn't use.

Randy decided as is obvious he was not going to take us further unless he changed, he wasn't going to change and the purse strings were tightened.

MON even though saying himself that we cannot cost the future of the club, even though he was happy to spend lots on players who never played didn't like being told he didn't have all the money in and world and left 5 days before the season.

Cheers Martin, you really were bothered about your ego more than then club, stubborn fool!

Ok. Now give me an example of a manager that has never "**** up"... You seem to have a very liberal categorization (or perhaps a very specific one that pertains to one man only.) I'd be interested to see who meets your standards.

As I noted above, given your standards, I doubt the next manager will be able to please you.

... and I'd be interested to hear where you think we should have finished given our outlay over the last four years.

  2. hoever comes in can keep us around.

I always said that when MON left i was confident randy would bring in a good manager to replace him, with this though all i can see is MON walking because of lack of funds and if thats the case then i'm not sure i do trust randy to bring in the right man.

    Laughable.

How come MON is aloud to spend what he likes and then not play them?

Has Randy not got the right to question that?

He spends a fortune pay them shit loads and then we cannot get rid.

MON was given full control as he wanted and **** it up!

    3rd.

Sky sports said after Man City and Chelsea.. Villa and Tottenham were equal 3rd in season spending. Man Utd Liverpool and Arsenal all below. (Man Utd obviously due to Ronaldo leaving) but nonetheless.. he signed him and sold him and still made the profit.

But our starting squad before his spending was very, very poor. Luke Moore, Ridgewell, Hughes, McCann, Sorensen. No wonder he had to spend so much...

May be true. But i was just answering the above question.

Those averages were over a 4 year period though.

... and the question was: "What did you expect?"

You put 3rd. You expected us to finish 3rd given our outlay over four years starting with the 05-06 squad?

If we factor in the 30 million quid for Milner, I bet we'll drop down to about 12th or something.

And you expected us to finish above Man Utd last season? Ok, let's shoot O'Neill for not making that happen.

  5. I just bought "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare"...

... in unrelated news, I am now selling a very large quantity of monkeys and an equally large quantity of typewriters

  6. The "no more" thing is in response to whether this was a revolution or not...

Capello said it was the mistake of one player and was essentially saying that it was "nothing more" than that.

He also said something along the lines of: from a big mistake, I hope for a big performance. So, Terry will still be in the starting XI, it seems.

  7. On 5Live at the moment, they are talking about an interview with Fabio Capello on ITV where he says John Terry made a "stupid (silly?) mistake" by being so bullish in the press conference yesterday.

The John Terry press conference was a bit of a joke. He claimed to be speaking on behalf of the players; it appears as though he was speaking on behalf of John Terry and his ego.

  8. To be honest, I'm not that fussed... but I'm on my way to a bar adjacent to the United Center. Should be an interesting night! (Black Hawks were up 2-1 when I left the flat.)
