  1. You should join me on a few runs around the Surrey Hills. I did a mere 2000 metres on the weekend and 127 miles. Only have to find 3500 metres to do La Marmotte...

  2. They've just said in the news that we were thrashed last night.

It probably says everything about our defence that I'm so used to letting in four goals that I no longer see it as being thrashed anymore. It's just the norm.

If he is to stay, he needs to buy defenders. Not strikers.

I would suggest he needs to buy some midfielders who can offer more protection to the defence, and offer more help to the attack. Midfielders with experience and guile. Sadly missing from our current lineup.

  3. Depends on what the frame is made of I would guess, each material has different qualities and longevity. The more you weigh generally the more watts you are going to produce and the quicker you will ‘destroy’ the componentry; gears, wheels, etc. I suspect the guy may be trying to sell you more than you need, but I don’t know what choice your were offered.

  4. Fulham were relegated because they removed a statue of Michael Jackson from Craven Cottage, according to former owner Mohamed Al Fayed.

Al Fayed installed the statue in 2011 but new owner Shahid Khan had it taken down in September.

    Fulham in 2011.

Fulham were relegated at the weekend and the statue has been donated to the National Football Museum in Manchester.

"When the new owner decided to move it I said 'Fine, it is a lucky thing, you will regret it later'," Al Fayed said.

"Now the new owner will regret it because I warned him. I said 'You will pay with blood for that' because it was something loved by people.

"It was a big mistake but he paid for it now. He's been relegated and if he wakes up he'll ask for Michael Jackson again and I'll say 'No way'."

Al Fayed believes manager Felix Magath is not the right man to get Fulham promoted from the Championship.

The Cottagers were relegated after 13 years in the Premier League with Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Stoke .

Magath wants to stay on but Al Fayed does not believe the German can help the Cottagers bounce back.

"You need a manager who will deliver and I don't think this guy has got the charm or the personality," he said.

Al Fayed, who sold Fulham to Khan in July last year, added: "Players need someone very close. You saw me with the players in the changing room and when they're eating lunch, it was a very close relationship for the players to feel they want to sacrifice, play hard and want to deliver.

"They miss that now and I hope [Khan] wakes up. I tried to help him and advise him and put him on the right way.

"If he's lost hope and he offers it to me half price, fine I'm going to buy it back."

Magath has apologised for the defeat at the Britannia Stadium that sealed the club's relegation from the Premier League.

The former Bayern Munich boss, 60, joined Fulham in February, but picked up just three wins in 11 league games.

In an open letter to fans,  Magath also vowed to stay on as manager and build a team able to return to the top flight.

  5. Aston Villa and Hull City to do battle for German star Kevin Vogt

Aston Villa and Hull City will compete this summer to sign Kevin Vogt, the highly-rated Germany Under-21 midfielder from Augsburg.

With Premier League safety now assured for both sides, they are looking to their summer recruitment and have identified 22-year-old Vogt as one of their main targets.

Vogt, thought of as one of the most promising young midfielders in Germany, has been an important part of the Augsburg side who are set for the best season in their history. They are currently eighth in the Bundesliga, in their third season in the top flight, just one point away from a Europa League place, with three games left.

Augsburg have become one of the league’s most exciting counter-attacking sides under young coach Markus Weinzierl, and Vogt has been a key part of their progress. The 6ft 5in holding midfielder has impressed with his workrate, and his defensive and creative abilities. He has made 27 appearances in the Bundesliga this season.

Vogt began his career as a centre-back in the Bochum academy, alongside İlkay Gündogan, now at Borussia Dortmund, and  Matthias Ostrzolek, a left-back who is now also at Augsburg. Vogt broke into the Bochum first team as a teenager before joining Augsburg in summer 2012. He has represented Germany at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels.

Villa and Hull might see more quality in midfield as a priority this summer, with Hull also hoping to secure Jake Livermore on a permanent deal from Tottenham.

  6. If I understand the material came out relatively recently after a legal case and its been gone through slowly; I am sure they wanted to talk to him around this point, and someone (realising the timing) thought why not now? But maybe Sinn Fein should perhaps have thought that it was hardly the cleverest thing for various people to talk about these times even if they had the promise they would only be released when they were dead?

I don’t think this will change how people would have voted? People seem to be aware of the links of most politicians in NI with various terror organisations on both sides.
