I just dropped it off at the post office actually.

Phone has been at the Warrington sorting office for 2 days now 😐

I used the companies pre-paid Royal Mail label, I hope it covers the value of the phone if it never emerges

Does anyone still have a wall mounted can opener?

During the 1970s they were found in most kitchens and were a trendy gadget.  The tin opener remains largely unchanged 50 years later, but we seem to have lost the desire to fix them on walls.

They are very rarely needed with the ring pull top on most tins now.

Many manufacturers had a Petrol engine that was near totally efficient before the EV generation. But the goverments were not interested. Don't believe they are getting rid of the combustion engine because of emissions, an we will always need fossel fuels.  It's all about the money new investment produces.

What do you mean by “near totally efficient”? What money does new investment produce for governments? They make a shit load from tax and duty in petrol and diesel currently. Plus all the money from road tax linked to emissions levels.

Energy efficient. EVs convert over 77% of the electrical energy from the grid to power at the wheels. Conventional gasoline vehicles only convert about 12%–30% of the energy stored in gasoline to power at the wheels.

Next stage is to produce as much of the grid electricity as greenly as possible.

Combustion Engines waste a huge amount of energy through heat, noise and movement.

Then of course produce lots of poisonous and greenhouse gases causing various illnesses and contributing to climate change.

Definitely. Monopolies and Mergers Commission **** right up there.

Sainsbury's by me is ALWAYS much cheaper than the adjacent BP and Shell to be fair. The fact those others still exist proves a substantial number of people just don't give a shit what they're paying because Sainsbury's is just as easy to use as either of them regardless of which side of the road you're on.

Sainsbury’s here is opposite Asda and they just price match each other so if one goes up they both go up.

Then everyone just holds that sort of lowest price. Garages that were always 10p (or more) a litre more expensive are about the same as the supermarkets now.

  5. The supermarkets used to hold the market down but in the last couple of years they have also moved to charge as much as they can get away with rather than the least.

Maybe it was since the Issa brothers bought Asda.

I've said this multiple times on this thread but there was never going to be a world war 3. Russia can't even take Ukraine. Had NATO entered the war on the Ukraine side Russia would have abandoned the war instantly.

At this point it would have been all on eyes China. Fresh from signing a “no limits” pact with Russia, would they get involved, or be happy to be called bottlers deciding instead to allow some worldwide stability (with their economy the motivation)?

I hope we don’t get to that point.

Never seen the show, don't know what this is all about and have no intention of finding out.

From what I have gleaned it all sounds shit anyway.

From what I can make out, Netflix made a show about a stalker but didn’t reveal the identity of the stalker. The real person came forward to out herself as the stalker but also denied she was a stalker whilst admitting to doing a bit of stalking.

While that is true but one got sacked after getting to a cup final and another was sacked after having a rightful pop at the clubs ambition

Levy sacking Jose a week before the cup final and putting Ryan Mason in charge is one of the stupidest decisions I’ve ever seen (up there with several sha decisions).

So desperate for a trophy but Levy’s ego is so big he sacked (and paid off) the best chance they’ve had for decades.

I think Usyk will win but won't get the decision and it will be a draw, which will set up a second fight later in the year.

Everyone will complain, call the sport a disgrace, then tune in for the rematch.

Blues win the PL and we hand it to them….its just too horrible to contemplate.

This is similar to the “Villa only stayed up because hawkeye failed” we get from their fans.

If Sha or Arsenal win the league then it’ll be because they got ~90 points over 37 games, it won’t be because we beat their rival in a one off. I wouldn’t give a shit if we handed it to them, they got the points on the board themselves.

As someone else said, we could easily turn it round “you only won the league because of us” and have that over them for ever and a day.

Chelsea was in the cup though, no back to back defeats in the league. We also lost 2 on the bounce a little over a week ago if you include all games against Brighton & Olympiakos

Ah yes, just noticed. It wasn’t clear on my app.

  12. We did lose 2 in a row, Chelsea on 7th Feb and then Man United on the 11th Feb.

We also lost to Newcastle on 30th Jan so we lost 3 games in about 2 weeks (we beat Sheffield United 5-0 on 3rd Feb.

Pal of mine mentioned the Marstons offer... think he uses The Gate in Amington. Said they can't keep up with demand when its 30% off.

It’s only a small place so yeah I could understand that. Nice place for a drink outside on a hot day (next to the canal).

The Wolverston Arms and The Longwood both regularly doing 30% off mains the last few months too.

Beefeater were doing 40% off via their facebook page.

  14. For quite a while now local chain pub restaurants round here have been offering big discounts on main means. Marstons seem to have 30% off 75% of the time and Beefeater have been running 40% recently too.

I assume this is more down to them being greedy with the prices over the last 12-18 months and now struggling sell meals at the full menu prices.
