  1. Just think this summer the pre season excitement, new manager along with a few freebies and loans....then the season kicks off.

I remember feeling a little excited before the Bournemouth game, that soon end after the 1st 5mins it was apparent that we were bloody awful.

I just hope that Lerner goes sooner rather than later.

  2. Is he dead? Is someone having a party????

Tbh it's all a bit pathetic really, the sooner Lerner sells up the better but honestly I can't agree with this type of song. Not quite as offensive as the Tracy Andrews song but it doesn't reflect good on our support.

  3. Ayew is hit and miss but he's one of the few players I'd like to keep, along with Amavi.

Okore all depends on his knee but again he's one of the few who haven't (imo) let us down this season.

Veretout tries hard but I can't make my mind up if he's going to prove he has what it takes or not, unfortunately I fear he's out of his depth.

Gana is bloody awful along with Sanchez, Richards, Hutton, Bacuna, Gestede, Clark, Westwood, Guzan, Sinclair, Richardson and CNZ. They all need to GTFO.

Just about passable is Lescott but not alongside Richards.

If and it's a big IF Remi Garde desides to stay with us I don't know how he's going to prevent another drop without being able to spend more money something that Hollis is against doing.

We are in a far worse state than we were in 87.

  4. I will never set foot in VP while Randy Lerner is the owner of Aston Villa.

Granted that's easy to do living in Oz but I've been back a few times, brought the new shirts etc but I will not waste another penny while he's the owner.

I can't be bothered to write a full response but in short I except nothing from a Chairman except to 1) keep quiet until you know what you're talking about and 2) do all you can to allow Garde, our best chance of a better future to do his job.

    This.

  6. Imo Remi Garde is too good a manager to be at a club being run the way we are.

I wouldn't blame him if he walked, I'd be gutted because he's by far the best manager we've had under Lerner, pity he wasn't around at the beginning.

For our sake I hope we get a couple of player's RG wants in before the window closes because if not I think it might give RG reason to rethink his position.

Guys dont worry we are going to sign miguel, dale stephens and ethan moore on deadline day, I can feel it in my bones

Oh it can be much worse Dem, out could go Ayew and.....ok I admit I'm struggling to think of another half decent player but whoever and in comes either no one (like so far this window) or player's not even the noses would be interested in.

  8. Is he a forward? No then move on.

Hollis talking about not wasting money, well sorry Mr Chairman if this deal goes through then I believe once you look back in the summer you will realise you have thrown money away on a RB that's not required.

He might be an improvement on what we currently have (Richards is good enough imo) but our number one priority right now should be a goalscorer, buy as many full backs as you like but it will not alter that.

My horizons are being brutally brought back . . . at the start of the window, I had in mind a good half a dozen positions in which I thought we needed to improve. Now we're getting to the end, and it's clear there's almost nothing to spend, all I'm asking for is a striker. Gestede is going to be out for 6 weeks or so. If we get a striker in now, then they can have acclimatised to the country and the culture and the club and everything before the start of next season.

Well HV that's six week that we don't have to watch the "tree" (planted to the spot) play so it ain't all bad ;)

Obviously our position will make it difficult to find good player's willing to come in without relegation clauses but surely there has to be at the very least a forward brought in this week, what am I saying? this is AVFC under Lerner. As you were nothing to see here.

We have two potential front line players that could help our cause if they want to fight. Gabby and Grealo have qualities that could and would help our situation. Lots of us feel Gabby is past his best but better to try to get him on board than sign a player who cannot function in this league. Gabby still could, just not convinced he wants to....... Which if he is villa through and through he would jump at the chance to save us. Same with Grealish.

Wow we obviously must be watching different player's, Grealish is not a striker from what we gave seen. I can hardly think of him even having a shot, besides he's slow as.

As for Gabby, I'm almost tempted to write ditto apart from his pace.

Sorry mate but neither of these are the answer right now.

  11. WBA have to be the most boring team to watch I've ever seen! And that's after all the suffering we have had for the last 5 yrs.

We badly need a striker who can score. Special mention to Ayew, how much did you have to drink Friday night mate?? He played like some of my mates on a Sunday morning after a skin full the night before, legs and brain not working together :)

    Buy a forward now!

What Hollis is saying is in code. When he uses terms like Infastructure, market model, net spend, economics, self sufficient etc etc etc what he really means is that he is in Lerners pocket, and therefore he is trying to convinve us that spending less than the other clubs is the way to go.

It cost less to run a championship club than a PL club.Think how much we can save if we were a league 2 club...the savings would be enormus.

Why stop there? Conference here we come!

  13. Nothing surprises me with the way Aston Villa are being run into the ground by this board.

That said I don't believe twitter bs although the longer we go without signing a player this month the more I worry that the "infrastructure board" have decided they know best.

I just hope we don't lose RG because he's the only one who seems to have the answers. And that's with a very limited squad.

    We've known better times lol.

  14. Again wtf, re my above post.

On topic, what is Hollis talking about "infrastructure"?

I know what the word means but what is he referring to changing if not player's???

Every time I read his comments I get more pissed off.

    1. Of course that's ultimately his fault. What I meant is he's not actuvely stopping us signing anyone this window. The whole mess is his fault.

    2. I don't think that would mean we wouldn't sign anyone, just that the budget is different. I think our lack of signigns is due to us being bottom of the league and cut adrift.

Yes that's ultimately lerner's fault, but I inferred from Sean's post that he meant lerner was sat there telling us we couldn't sign anyone, when I don't imagine he's had any input into the decision this time around except for budget.

No Steve that wasn't my meaning, I don't think Lerner is actively saying no signings but he controls the finances and so far all we have is a few rumours about a keeper.

This team needs strengthen with good player's which will cost money that he is seemingly unwilling to sanction.

Randy Lerner is possibly the worst thing to ever happen to Aston Villa imo.

  16. No idea why my above post is quoting Arj but the only way I could get rid of it was to post it????

Anyway, it's the 21st and not 1 new player has signed, even on loan.

Hollis must think he's a miracle worker, I'd love to read his CI project for this.

With every day that passes by I dislike Randy Lerner more and more.

    Love Villa hate Lerner.

  17. Sorry but we can't afford sentiments for Guzan.

If he's not performing then he has to be dropped, Bunn has done okay so deserves him chance.

I hope Guzan can get his shit together again but honestly I'm unsure if he's capable of doing so, if we sign a new keeper then I think he'll be on his way out.
