  1. Won’t be watching a game, know it won’t make a difference and they won’t care in the slightest but it what it is. Won’t be telling people to turn it off if I visit and they are watching it but I won’t be putting it on myself or going to venues with the purpose to watch it etc.

At least with Southgate in charge I know I won’t be missing much.

I see the media witch -hunt against Ivan Toney continues. Southgate no longer has to worry about finding a pretext to keep Toney out of the squad that's picked on Thursday. Something isn't right, he picked him last month, put him on the bench and left him on it, then sends him home before the next game.

It certainly provides food for thought.

What are you implying is occurring here?

This is what we have been banging on all this time. What a difference it makes to have a team with lines and structure. And that's after 3 days of coaching.

Pretty much all of our players suddenly looks more competent, imagine that.

It’s been so obvious that it wasn’t the players that were the problem. Emery gonna be dishing out humble pie to a few all season I think

Really not going to blame mental weakness, we've been bullied and fouled, and Newcastle getting lucky with VAR multiple times. Very dissappointing to see more senior players not put the work in again.

3 goals in 10 minutes to Newcastle.

Collapse of biblical proportions. Mentally weak af.

    I don't get this.

How is it that prior to this, the claims were that we had a better squad than Newcastle et al, but just the Manager was poor.

Now the Manager is gone, we are off the back of a scintillating performance, and some are now saying we should still fear Newcastle.

Seems a bit hypocritical or moving goalpost - ish IMO.

Unless some are finally prepared to admit that maybe our squad actually isn't as good as they were making it out to be?

It’s not hypocritical at all, Newcastle are currently sitting in 4th.

Emery will need time to implement his a style which maximises what we have available, it’s not just a case of Gerrard is gone now so why aren’t we expected to win every game if the players are so good, this feels like a straw man argument.

Particularly as the vast majority believe we easily have a top half level squad, myself included, which were sitting 17th when Gerrard finally got sacked. Again Newcastle are 4th, let’s not get delusional and claim we should be beating everyone, that was never the argument.
