Won’t be watching a game, know it won’t make a difference and they won’t care in the slightest but it what it is. Won’t be telling people to turn it off if I visit and they are watching it but I won’t be putting it on myself or going to venues with the purpose to watch it etc.
At least with Southgate in charge I know I won’t be missing much.

Some players may surprise us today, I’ve firmly subscribed to the camp we couldn’t really judge anyone under Gerrard’s “management”.
Combination of Emery giving people a shot, who knows what he’s seen in training, and resting players for a game in 3 days time.

4-2-3-1 with Ramsey on the Left, Watkins on the right and McGinn as the 10 do we think?

I see the media witch -hunt against Ivan Toney continues. Southgate no longer has to worry about finding a pretext to keep Toney out of the squad that's picked on Thursday. Something isn't right, he picked him last month, put him on the bench and left him on it, then sends him home before the next game.
It certainly provides food for thought.
What are you implying is occurring here?

This is what we have been banging on all this time. What a difference it makes to have a team with lines and structure. And that's after 3 days of coaching.
Pretty much all of our players suddenly looks more competent, imagine that.
It’s been so obvious that it wasn’t the players that were the problem. Emery gonna be dishing out humble pie to a few all season I think

VAR is a joke we get a red other way around for sure

Just knew it was going in as soon as Shaw shaped up.
The luck and decisions they continually get against us is almost unbelievable

Jammy **** words removed
As usual

As soon as the goal went in I just knew we’d concede more in quick succession, like a dam bursting.
We have such a soft under-belly and it’s permeated numerous managers, I really hope Emery can shift this.

Shane Long regen.
Unless there’s a drastic improvement his role should be limited to coming off the bench for hard-running when needed.

Newcastle fans were saying the same thing about Joelinton, Almiron and many more last year.
Exactly.
I think we’ll see a few players transformed under Emery.

Man Utd, Brighton Away, Liverpool and Spurs next...
Emery has a huge job on his hands.

Really not going to blame mental weakness, we've been bullied and fouled, and Newcastle getting lucky with VAR multiple times. Very dissappointing to see more senior players not put the work in again.
3 goals in 10 minutes to Newcastle.
Collapse of biblical proportions. Mentally weak af.

We are so mentally weak.
Don't think there's a side on bank to collapse after a goal faster than Villa.

I've got two blokes, Gary Breen I think. They appear to want Newcastle to win.
Woman and a bloke I’ve got.
The bloke ain’t great but the woman has been fondling Newcastles nuts since the first whistle.

One the worst commentaries I’ve had to endure for a very long time.
They are absolutely desperate for Newcastle to win and it’s been a non-stop PR piece. You’d be forgiven for thinking little ol’ Villa we’re lucky to be able to play the champions of the world from listening alone.
Pissing me right off.

Every blatant foul met with uproar from the crowd. Bunch of **** cavemen

This woman commentator absolutely begging for Newcastle to get a penalty there. Embarrassing bias so far from them.

Why the **** are they booing Buendia?
I really can’t stand these words removed.
-
Of course Newcastle fans jeering, special breed of rocket polishers.
You ain’t Real Madrid we ain’t time wasting for a 0-0 point.
-
Bailey won the ball there
-
You’d have no idea who Newcastle were playing from the commentary alone.
Ridiculous wank fest.

I don't get this.
How is it that prior to this, the claims were that we had a better squad than Newcastle et al, but just the Manager was poor.
Now the Manager is gone, we are off the back of a scintillating performance, and some are now saying we should still fear Newcastle.
Seems a bit hypocritical or moving goalpost - ish IMO.
Unless some are finally prepared to admit that maybe our squad actually isn't as good as they were making it out to be?
It’s not hypocritical at all, Newcastle are currently sitting in 4th.
Emery will need time to implement his a style which maximises what we have available, it’s not just a case of Gerrard is gone now so why aren’t we expected to win every game if the players are so good, this feels like a straw man argument.
Particularly as the vast majority believe we easily have a top half level squad, myself included, which were sitting 17th when Gerrard finally got sacked. Again Newcastle are 4th, let’s not get delusional and claim we should be beating everyone, that was never the argument.

Not a fan of Olsen, at all.
Always seems to be constantly bricking it.
